Socialized healthcare doesn't mean the government controls your body. It just means everyone can have healthcare through public hospitals/clinics, but if you wish you could also go to a private clinic or hospital. I believe it would raise the quality of private clinics, since they'd be competing with free healthcare, their services should always be good enough and cheap enough for people to choose to pay for it instead of just going to a public one.

I'm a pragmatist. Do what you need to get what you want. If you want gun rights AND single payer, there's no law of the universe saying that's impossible.
