What, if anything, to do about NK I don't know. Ideally it will be a multilateral cooperation if they continue a path of belligerence. If I understand correctly, it would have to be a very careful and tactical thing that we do preemptively were justification to arise, and I would hope that it would be preceded by ample posturing among relevant powers. Russia, for instance, made a move toward expressing possible trade influence, as well as potential useful neutrality were things to continue to escalate.
Russia can't be trusted. it's still surprising to me how the biggest country in the world, with more natural resources than anywhere else (physical--as in, they probably have more trees and rocks and space than anywhere else) has an economy akin to like Italy or Mexico.
I don't know why they want to continue to try to be a "super power" when a lot of educated russians just end up leaving and jumping ship, and the quality of life for the average russian is somehow poorer than the average guy in the baltic states.
