As for education it should end at grade 10. If you want two more years you should be forced to join military, who will do all grade 1 12 education, its not mandatory, so if you cant get in, or get kicked out, your problem.
No post secondary education whatsoever should receive funding.
As for foreign aid, the Canadian government should stop it all and replace with special disaster relief force. Hire and Train 5000 Canadians to respond to disaster relief anywhre in the world that invites us, they could use the military for transport/security. They simply respond to earthquakes/tsunamis/floods etc where ever they are invited. No dollars are given, and we simply help people, and we maintain sole control of distribution of that help.
We should NOT provide famine relief, that is a "preventable" disaster.

I know that fully socialized healthcare would be impossible in the US due to the number of leeches. But I don't believe that someone should be forced to empty their bank account to the point of selling their house just because they got cancer.
