And so what? You're not going to make me believe that you're feeling emphatic for this kid and not for the dying nigglets elsewhere in the world.
>inb4 they are nigglets
I know we are on Sup Forums, but still.
The issue here is not on the individual level. It doesn't matter to us, whether the kid dies or not after that experimental treatment. If the kid doesn't die then good for everybody. If he dies then yeah, there won't be any difference.
The issue here is how the State can ultimately decide on your child's life. It is not a matter to let him live forever in a vegetable state. They just wanted to give this kid another chance, few months more, to get this experimental treatment. They didn't expect him to get 100% cured. I don't think it's faire that the State can take away a life "just because". It is entirely hypocritical to say people care about the kid's suffering. Nobody really cares about that, they just wanted to get rid of him because "muh tax money".
Ultimately, the case was raised to another level when the US gave this kid permanent residence. Even with that, they didn't allow them to travel.
Now think about it, if the State can ultimately decide on your life, what's next? It's kinda like gay marriage.
As CĂ©line, a French writer said, "You thought we were fucked in the ass for a few centimetres, but in reality, we were already fucked a few metres deep already". Open one small door for them, they will open the gate. It will only go further on, and people will approve it because it's the "law".
Nobody will feel responsible for his death because people will say that it's the "law" that won, that "law" is over everything. But the law is not protecting its citizens. Some bunch of, what, 500,600 politicians, judges are protecting the law in its highest level. And that very same bunch of politicians are corrupted, sometimes caught with pedophilia, drug abuse, and who knows what.
Do you really want that?
