They don't let diabetics in specifically because medical care for them in war zones can't be guaranteed. If they can't reliably deliver insulin, how can they reliably deliver hormones and dialators? It's one thing to die on a combat resupply mission delivering ammo or picking up soldiers wounded under fire, but I'd sure hate to die on a combat evac because terry lost his dialator to enemy fire and got an infection in his mangina.
