That's conveniently ignoring the massive military budget that's in place that could be used for economic development elsewhere. Putting the sole blame on sanctions isn't entirely accurate, they may have played a part, but they're not the primary cause.

I will give you that the DPRK has developed its own electronics, missile and nuclear tech. Although there are suggestions that the Chinese have helped them with the missiles indirectly. A good example of this is the Chinese trucks being used to deploy the Hwasong-14 missile from. This is a roundabout way of assisting them with the development of the missile without actually being involved in it.

It's believed that Iran has purchased several DPRK submarines, the Ghadir-class itself is based off the Yono-class submarine, and was used to test fire a missile from it back in May. As much as it is "Yankee propaganda" to some extent, there is a degree of military co-operation on-going between both nations and it makes sense for both to do so.

For the record here, I don't believe Iran is a Middle East DPRK by any means, nor a member of the "Axis of Evil", but you have to recognise the links between both.

Actually for me this is the ideal scenario. The Americans don't get to put further pressure on China/Russia by occupying the rest of the Korean peninsula, and a DPRK with nukes is gotten rid of. This would assume option 2, military intervention.
