Genome Editing and Eugenics

We have reached a stage in human development where we are capable of taking the future of our species into our own hands. We are no longer living by nature's laws of natural selection. We keep our genetic rejects alive and they go on to breed and create more genetic rejects. We also have inferior gene pools introduced into our population at an alarming rate. It is a matter of time before humanity is in complete decline. So, we are at a crossroads: Do we simply continue to breed indiscriminately without regard for the inferior generations we produce or do we take our growth into our own hands?
>clinical trials for human genome editing could be permitted, “but only for serious conditions under stringent oversight.”
We are looking at an opportunity to make our species healthier and more intelligent. We could virtually eliminate or greatly reduce disease. It can be argued that flawed genetics are a serious condition. Any predisposition toward death and disease is a serious condition. Stupidity itself is a serious condition. Nobody can make an argument for unnecessarily creating more stupid, weak, or diseased people. All that said, if you people insist on creating shitty offspring, I will not tolerate this for myself. I absolutely want to use CRISPR-Cas9 to create the best offspring medical science is currently capable. God gave use this gift and gave us the ability to get here. We must fulfill out destiny.

I think sperm will be grown in a lab with custom dna. that's the best way to do it. Not editing the embryo.

Also genius sperm banks should be tried first. gene editing is very tough and expensive. sperm is cheap.

I'm for it too, but the leftists and general population seem to be against it for some reason.

Embryo selection seems to be the best way? Atleast that's what I've read.

>. God gave use this gift and gave us the ability to get here.

Except for those innocent who died of hunger, an earthquake or in a random car accident you cherry picker. Also the cunt could have done it quicker couldn't he? right from the beginning in fact, what a lazy vacillating god.

I'm for eugenics actually, but not in a genocidal sense like the fucking nazis, but like OP says.

*tips fedora in your general direction

>I'm for eugenics actually, but not in a genocidal sense like the fucking nazis, but like OP says.
He doesn't say that.

>Nobody can make an argument for unnecessarily creating more stupid, weak, or diseased people.
If you mean this then what is so nazi about not wanting to create more these people`?

Genome editing will be used to create servile golems for the Jews, not White ubermensch, and you are deluded if you think otherwise.

These are good ideas.

It's surprising that leftists are against this because they are generally godless and lack moral integrity. They support killing babies for stem cells. Are you sure they wouldn't want this? We have already interfered with human breeding by keeping those who would not have survived without modern medicine and allowed them to breed. The only difference is that we have interfered with nature's direction and we have not supplemented that with our own direction. Until this is done, I really believe humanity will be in genetic decline. The only hope beyond selective breeding is genetic editing for the masses. Really, it should be seen as mandatory in the same way they people see inoculation against disease as mandatory. There is a paradigm shit that must take place, but we must begin to view poor genetics as a disease.

>god
For lack of a better term, we hold our future in our hands. That much is undeniable. Yes, I really think we should be treating poor genetics as a disease and treating genetic editing as inoculation against poor health, short life spans, and low intelligence. I really don't think this should ever become a partisan issue, but you know it will be hijacked by politicians and turned into and us vs them thing.

>Until this is done, I really believe humanity will be in genetic decline.
Isn't this proven to be true already? Dysgenic breeding is taking place all over the globe, and this is making people dumber, sicker and worse in general.

>The only hope beyond selective breeding is genetic editing for the masses. Really, it should be seen as mandatory in the same way they people see inoculation against disease as mandatory. There is a paradigm shit that must take place, but we must begin to view poor genetics as a disease.
I agree. Will be very hard to do in practice, as things are now.

I think he meant he doesn't like the idea of forcing people into selective breeding programs or not allowing them to breed. I don't really want to force anything on anyone either. I just want to be able to produce the best offspring without some chimpout about muh equality.

That's why communism is a better context for this since it is self-governed people who decides in a classless and stateless society. otherwise you get classes in constant conflict, even when one class liquidates the other this new class will stratify if you don't have the society controlling mechanism in place first (by using technology). that prevents that from happening.

Kid in the picture looks like, "That was easy. Bored now."

There is a center in Marin County, California, buckinstitute.org/, that is approaching aging as a disease. It's the first time I've seen this paradigm which really cuts to the source of many common diseases which ultimately lead to death. I think a similar paradigm applies to improving genetics.

I think the point of political ideology is moot because the superior offspring will rise to lead the rest of humanity, regardless of the status quo.

>clinical trials for human genome editing could be permitted, “but only for serious conditions under stringent oversight.”
>only for serious conditions
Predisposition for caner or heart disease is a serious condition. Death is a serious condition. We are all predisposed toward death. We all qualify as having a serious condition which warrants genetic editing at birth. Who are you to say which human is worthy of having their life extended? It much be available for anyone who can afford it, which will no doubt me the extremely wealthy.

I'm in favor of this.

Oogah boogah 'muh Frankenstein.

I get mild hay fever every damned year during the summer, and piss off with you horror story horseshit. That stuff isn't useful. It can be removed. Save that portion of dna in a little genebox somewhere, in case it ever does prove any use, put it's genome sequence on a hard drive somewhere, but take that shit right out of me or whatever children I sire.
Give my kids 5 or 10 more points in IQ as well.
The rest of me is pretty damned badass. My frame's good so to speak. Everything works above average putterer. I'm just not ashamed to seek some engine tuning and customizing to make my genes really express. Needs some twerks and modifications.

please tell me your post is bait. I would really appreciate the reasurance.

I hear you. I think every parent wants what is best for their child. You wouldn't just skip vaccines and leave them prone to diseases. So why would you let them be prone to dying early from cancer or even just being complete fucking idiots if you can avoid it?

Any attempt to make genetic editing a polarizing partisan position is bait. It will inevitably happen. It will probably be the next abortion platform which politicians run on. It will likely be stunted and prevented from reaching its full potential of usefulness as politicians continue milking it as a pro vs anti political platform. I'm not optimistic in humanity's ability to apply science. Best case scenario will probably be that it will be very expensive and only the wealthy will have access to this.

nah, i rather have my own blood off spring even i edited it's still mine.

I think most people would. Like said, it's still your frame. You're just making a tune up to reach maximal potential.

Eh. Wealthy used be the only ones to have electricity, cars, refrigerators, washing machines... spices... running water, cosmetics... indoor plumbing...
Then mostly, for the modern world, everyone eventually did.

I agree with the point of it being inevitable. People will run the same my socialism, my rich people hysteria dog and pony show as history's had happen before at first, but ultimately who doesn't want light bulbs and a refrigerator, now? Who, eventually, won't want their male kid to Not be an obese muscle-less lardo, with an ~100 iq, prone to dying before those people that make it to the triple digits, prone to a fruit salad of various mental disorders like anxiety, and are carriers for some unexpressed recessive genetic disease that they don't even know is lying somewhere in their code? Maybe not every one thing or those, but people will want some things changed and generally it will be greatly for the better..
