Should we bring back Pistol Duels...

Should we bring back Pistol Duels? Organised dueling disappeared from out society in late 1800's and ever since has become much more confrontational and slanderous.

If challenged an apology can be issued and resolve the need for a duel. Society in such case would be much more courteous and harmonious, you would not seek to offend somebody if there is a chance of retribution, and declining a duel without an apology would be a huge social taboo, leaving your reputation and career in tatters. Of course it would have to be facilitated by say a police officers with witnesses and/or written evidence of the offense to commence said duel.

The Duel would follow the standard Code Duello, a single shot being fired after the count of three from a set distance.

No, because pistols are for women and homos. If you want to duel you have to use a blade.

Faggot

Fisticuffs

Any intellectual knows politics in these united states knows that the banking guild was only able to establish control after dueling was made illegal.
I'd duel any central banker to the death.

Well the result of a duel is not to kill, but to put the fear of death into people so they mind their manners. Even swords duels were only until first blood, a tiny nick on the face would count. Pistol duels are far more dangerous which would create the desired effect more efficiently.

and you wonder why you faggots got conquered by immigrants

An ass-whoopin' would be more than sufficient to correct most modern people's manners.

A fist fight only encourages meat heads to challenge everyone to a fight though, a duel with weapons puts everybody on a level playing field.

It's also real, real easy to pull a trigger. Not so easy to step forward with a sword.

Except you can't be forced into a duel. It would be deemed barbaric and any challenge scoffed at. It fit a time when a mans honor was his most valuable trait. Now, it's money.

>The Duel would follow the standard Code Duello

No such thing as a "standard" duel in the old days of Europe.

>a duel with weapons puts everybody on a level playing field.

>no skill in using a blade
>no skill in using a pistol
>no skill in using your mitts

Stop talking out your ass Nigel.

>"God made all men, but Sam Colt made them equal"

A skilled shooter will destroy some unskilled shitter same as a skilled fighter will destroy some weak faggot.

>social taboo
For some reason libertarian shits like to think this actually stops ppl from doing bad things.

But to decline a duel and not apologise to the offended party would be an offence, similar to being caught drunk driving, everyone would think less of you. Like I said, a duel can only be issued with proof of an offence being given.

Firing a pistol takes far less training than becoming a fighter, both pistols would be loaded and aimed at each other from a reasonable distance. The idea is not that the more skilled fighter wins, but to deter people from being rude to each other. You would not challenge somebody to a duel unless you are truly offended and you would apologise to a challenge formally if you aren't prepared to back up your words.

To highlight how badass Germans were before they lost WW2, German students used to find excuses to duel each other to get facial scars, duel scars were a sign of courage and honour.

It mostly does stop white people from doing bad things, or at least from getting caught doing them.

>in this society, your argument is only as valid as how well you can shoot with a pistol
How about no.

it doesnt matter. historically, duels were rarely fatal. most duelists shot to miss. except Andrew Jackson

Social taboo didnt stop you from being a raycist Sup Forums shitposter tho.

>bad things

Why stop there? I'm all for trial by combat making a comeback.

>The Duel would follow the standard Code Duello, a single shot being fired after the count of three from a set distance.

You know why they did that, right?

The pistols back then were so innacurate, that at a certain distance, they were ineffective, and dying in a duel was rare.
No one was expected to die in a duel, even if it did sometimes happen. It was just about two young, hot blooded men showing their peers that they were willing to put themselves in a somewhat dangerous and reckless situation to preserve their honor.

Modern day handguns are extremely accurate when wielded by anyone with some skill. A duel at even a distance of 30ft would always probably be fatal.

In the old days, challenging someone to a pistol duel required a sense of honor and some bravado. These days, it would require a genuine murderous intent to the point of suicidality.
