What is with always seeing angry, moralizing, and irrational Irish folks jumping into every social cause of the day? I don't care what it is I stumble upon, there is always a "Mc" or "O'something" making a weepy appeal for people to join. Anyone else notice this? I see this with Irish-Americans, is it the same over there too?
Everything from climate change to blood diamonds to Kony 2012 to whatever news story of the day. Things like Ukraine, Syria, Venezuela (lots of commie sympathizers), and of course "solidarity" with "Palestine". It seems there are an infinite number of Irish around to jump into these, often literally, like running to the other countries and going to their frontlines.
I can't put my finger on why. I think that the Irish are secretly jealous of the Jews. Jews got their language back and millions speak it daily, but I have never met a single Irish person who knows or regularly uses Irish nowadays. Both do the smug guilt thing to others but seems they hate each other too.
I'm Irish. We like drinking, fucking, and fighting - and not in that order. On Sundays we ask for forgiveness or whatever. What the fuck is so hard to understand about that?

Truly nationalist Irish are jealous/mirin' the Israeli nationalist project, but left-wing Anglo/Anglicised Irish are jealous/mirin' of the diaspora Jews, who have infiltrated and supplanted the eternal WASP hierarchy.
It's just noticeable in the US because the centre of East Coast Judaism is also a centre of "Irish Americans", so those communities developed alongside each other, and have more of a presence in "diversified" NYC than the now-generic WASP masses in "flyover country". Same is probably somewhat true in England, because no English except old-money aristocrats (themselves riddled with Jews) have anywhere near the cohesion that the Jews and navvies do, even if the Irish centres are more to the north and the Jewish in London.
