China has lost complete control over their previous puppet regime. North Korea used to depend on China protecting them from the US, but when they obtained ICBM capabilities they no longer need to be China's bitch to deter Uncle Sam.
Now while this seem to be a bad thing for the US. It really isn't. Because the same deterrence NK can pressure the US with, can be used against China. And they are China's neighbor and not the US.
North Korea is a disaster to China on par with what a nuclear Mexico would be to the USA. And Trump made it all happen by false threats of military intervention. When US pulls away with their carrier strike groups and NK calms down.
China is stuck with a neutral, nuclear confident neighbor that don't give a fuck about the opinions of anyone. That is hungry for resources by any means.
That might mean that they will stop selling their rare earth mineral cheap to China and sell them to the west instead(including the USA).

Such as "Is NK really that bad?" or "Should we coexist with NK" and other things to humanize the North Koreans. It's already started, such as the NK ski resort video among others.

By "China" you probably mean the government headed by Xi Jinping. But that's only one half of the Chinese state. The other half belongs to Jiang Zemin, and his faction which props up North Korea. Xi never had control. That was all Jiang.
