White House comedy distracts America from the age of automation and looming job losses

Sup Forums, I've got a very serious question:
scmp.com/comment/insight-opinion/article/2104708/trumps-comedy-politics-distracting-humans-age-automation-and

Is this guy right?

Probably

You are the Norway now?

Why the fuck would you archive SCMP?
If anything these are the last unbiased uncucked media outlets out there that actually produce worthwhile articles

We are totally fucked.

3.5 million truck drivers, 300,000+ taxi/uber/lyft drivers. Will all be unemployed in 20 years. That's just the tip of the automation iceburg

If automation is right down the road why are Pablo and Mutumbo here?

Automation advances will be sequestered and shelved by large companies before they threaten the stability of the capitalist system in any meaningful way, China goes out of there way to maximize human jobs in their factories all the time to the point where they hire guys to stare at valves all day when that stuff was automated in the 70s.

who the fuck is pablo and mutumbo?

Also, you can't really 'shelve' progress in a capitalist system.

Unless you actually believe that corporations can somehow stop the moore's law by bending the laws of physics or something, but in that case you are just retarded

>Also, you can't really 'shelve' progress in a capitalist system
Corporations sequester tech all of the time. Or are Google and Microsoft gobbling up dozens of patents a day because they see promise in them? Don't be naive. The capitalists aren't going to automate to the point where the entire system and their privileged access to 10 yachts and penthouses comes tumbling down.

Bump.

Why is everyone ignoring this?

If anything, Sup Forums should be the first to decry the incoming apocalypse and the current inability of the elites to even try to address it

>If automation is right down the road why are Pablo and Mutumbo here?
Because it's probably not, lefty sites like gizmodo and shit just like to cream themselves over the idea of blue collar white men losing their jobs and they make near daily articles about it.

>Moore's Law
We're going faster and faster.

We are not talking about some specific shit you can actually get a patent on.

You can't get a patent on a computer that can do 40 times more calculations per second than the entire human race combined. And if anyone could do it, they would have done it by now.
Go back to sleep.

muh free trade. give it up. eventually there is going to have to be an equitable distribution of resources

>crypto commie once shine pushing the automation meme

Fuck off the technological transformation from 1850-1950 was just as incnredible

Automation will not end employment, it will end certain jobs but it will also create many more.

>inb4 computers and robots will do everything

Not for a very very long time, computers and robots have a long way to go before replacing even the majority of jobs let alone all.

If in several centuries we do have a society where robots can do everything with little to no human influence our modern ideas of economics will be meaningless because we will have no scarcity of labor and that changes everything and thus is irrelevant.

Our economic system will be replaced eventually but not in any of our lifetime s

>Literally the most reputable Chinese newspaper
>Has a hardline anti-faggot, anti-LGBT+ degeneracy, anti-western stance
>Apparently is classified as 'leftist' by some unnamed Sup Forums faggot

What's next? Nazism is actually communist?

Integrated automation systems would most definitely be patented and highly proprietary. 3D printers and the latest batch of Intel processors are not going to automate away the work force.

What do you want me to do about it?

so bill gates and warren buffet can have 80 million gold spitoons each and chad and stacey can still look down on the neighbors

>hurr where will all the farmers get jobs once the automated harvester is invented

they will all move to america and file for welfare

We've seen this coming for a long time.
The fact that Clinton never once mentioned jobs is one of the reasons she lost.

fuck you commie kikes

Are you implying we're creating new jobs as fast as they're going to be lost?

Jobs will go to wherever there is still scarcity so if you can work learn these jobs you'll be fine. However as the IQ requirement for jobs increases the usefulness for spics and nigs and the dumb whites, more abortion and self selected gene pool elimination will be the path forward to removing them, the obsolete and the nimrods, entirely.

You think we're going toward the path of universal income? We've been liquidating the semi-competant and totally incompetent technologically illiterate underclass for decades you fools

my browser blocked 12 ads on that site

We're hitting a turning point where automation strips away more jobs than it creates.

there already is a universal income. food stamps, public school, section 8, medicaid, aid to dependant mothers, ssi for immigrants, ssi disability, social security.

that isn't the end of the fucking world, but open border and universal income is the end of the world

Yeah yeah yeah...
>We need to tax the corporations man! Universal income for everybody!!!

There are plenty of jobs out there that aren't automated and wont be any time soon. New industries will arise, like space and deep sea mining and aquaculture.

Also, according to the Georgia Guide Stones, a lot of people are going to have to die,.

I know that robots will end some jobs like drivers, attendants etc to create others in manufacturing. But what when robots create robots?
In the industrial era you needed people on the industry to create things, but nowadays we are entering in literal only robots

you can have open borders. you can have a welfare state. you can have neither. but you cant have both

yeah.... right, like right before the industrial revolution

No, but unemployment will remain low. In the long run, automation increases employment.

>a very serious question
>can't articulate question
>gives shitlink
>is shitlink guy right

you need to stop shitposting you faggot

>MSM which is run by (((them))) distracts everyone from (((banks))) solidifying their control on the masses in a permanent tech-surveillance state that will never end

>automation increases employment
You seem to be stuck in the 1800s. Now days automation mostly refers to AI.
AI's don't need individual maintenance and we already have enough mechanics and robotics experts.

Fuck you

The question was below the link

...

you still need a smart guy to push the buttons.

A lot of this automation shit is a lie. They sell it like robots will do every thing and and humans wont be involved. It wont work like that
