"It’s official: McDonald’s says that every one of its 14,000 stores nationwide will be replacing cashiers with automated touch-screen kiosks. They’re starting with stores where minimum-wage laws mandate the highest rates, such as Florida, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Seattle."
You might not like burger flippers but with automation millions of people stand to lose their jobs and risk flinging our country into another great depression.
hahaha typical amerifats complaining about burgers :D
Christian Green
Sometimes I suspect that minimum wage is a plot to use "humanitarian" justifications to force automation beyond what is economical, thereby pushing humanity towards the point where depopulation becomes imperative.
Jacob Nguyen
Let it happen
Zachary Watson
At least robots can't spit in your food.
Dominic Lopez
That's not in response to higher wages, it's a question of efficiency. Right now, cashiers also cook and prepare food. When food preparation is the only thing workers have to worry about, they can fit in more sales. It's also a lot easier to impulse purchase on a kiosk as opposed to in front of a fleshy bloodman.
Brandon Gomez
well then!
Levi Perry
Thankfully unlike the rust belt, there are no communities based on being cashiers and other low-tier labor
Jaxson Murphy
>Get automated orders in UK. >Barely 3 months later the printer is broken. >Orders get delivered to whoever calls over the person bringing the food out.
Brody Hernandez
This is what a $15 minimum wage job looks like. Enjoy.
Jaxon Wood
Over in Europe it's usually 2-4 screens plus a cashier. Honestly it's far better than dealing with someone who can't take your order properly.
Justin Kelly
I'm just glad those insufferable Fight for 15 / Bernie faggots are getting BTFO. Now they'll just start whining even harder about UBI though. Maybe that was the plan all along.
Jace Thompson
the biggest problem is that automation is going to happen and the government is doing nothing to prepare for it. They continue to flood in low skilled workers who are the exact people who's jobs will be lost to automation
Justin Garcia
But is the economic collapse that will occur because of this worth it so your food is prepared the way you like it?
Jason King
Yes, fuck poor people
Luis Morris
How many people are stuck working shitty cashier jobs and want to kill themselves? This is good in the long run, those jobs are soul crushing and not real work.
Owen Davis
Good, fucking Democrat voters deserve to starve and die.
Gavin Clark
OMG WE NEED BASIC INCOME
>Three generations later, 90% of people have no skills that could potentially lead to their betterment and advancement
Oliver Martin
That's what faggots get for demanding 15 an hour in a unrealistic amount of time. Should have went for 10; though it wouldn't matter since this was going to happen no matter what.
Isaac Allen
Thank God. I'm sick and tired of these fucking Mexicans who can't speak English fucking up my order.
Joseph Peterson
Live in NY. Burger flippers are majority retarded negro. Now that they're replaced by robots, McDonalds has become quicker and more pleasant.
Justin Allen
I definitely did not see this coming.
Carson Butler
I live in D.C. and I hate talking to nogs. This is great.
Jace Campbell
any civilized area already has at least 9.50 and it still isnt close to a living wage
Dominic Jones
If you remove an important job from the labor division then the lower class will collapse, when the lower class collapses you will millions of homeless poor people.
Is this really what you want?
I mean liberal bias aside, do you want a great depression? Where you as the lowest common denominator will suffer greatly as a result?
Juan Robinson
Good
I hate poor people
Bentley Perez
Haha
Matthew Long
I quit the fast food jew a couple years ago but I refuse to shop anywhere that doesn't have human cashiers. I wait the extra time in line to avoid all self checkouts. When an employee tells me that the self checkout is open, I ask them why they would want me to actively contribute to their future unemployment.
Kevin Carter
>tfw work out back >tfw this will not affect me >...for now What a time to be alive
Brody Miller
>economic collapse lol are you clinically retarded?
Brody Martinez
This. Where I live we cant get enough people to work at Mcdonalds. So they need robot helpers.
Henry Cook
>Like there will be any jobs in 3 generations
Lucas King
Why do we need to keep propping up those who are dead weight in society?
Isaiah Russell
Of course they aren't, they want us to kill the foreign invaders and get killed in return
I wouldn't be surprised if the government rolled in to stop such a civil war and decided to make all whites they encounter into 'tragic casualties of war'
Gulags soon my brothers
Cameron Sanchez
Good. Fuck being a cashier, it's one of the worst professions out there. I actually prefer flipping burgers to being a cashier.
Luke Rodriguez
t. doesn't understand economics
This will in no way help our economy, if you cannot provide a counter argument then kys idiot.
Caleb Jones
I work at a McDonalds with a fully automated ordering system and we still have around 30 employees
you know how many times the paper gets stuck in those and refuse to print a recipt and in my store cashiers were usually the managers and shift managers anyway so no one got fired..
i get paid 12$ ph for the reference
Jose Jenkins
>>This will in no way help our economy nigga the only one that counts is you
protip if you ain't already in the top class you gon die poor
Jaxson Phillips
We have touch screen kiosks in locations where they have to pay slightly more, like motorways and L O N D O N
Leo Flores
you got it boss
Jordan Collins
I remember some McDs in New York had these back in the 90s. What took them so long to do this?
Isaac Evans
How does it feel to be completely btfo at every turn, liberals? Every single thing you do ends in failure, and we all end up worse for it.
Mason Morales
>economic collapse
Just like that economic collapse that occurred when we automated nearly all the farming jobs out of existence when 80% or more people were farmers... oh wait...
Luke Garcia
Removes nig nogs Everyone wins
Eli Green
Well you know a McDonalds doesnt actually make that much money Ive looked at my McDonalds financial report (my Location's company owns 3 stores) and they make 150k quids a year from 3 stores in profit
Grayson Jenkins
>is in italy >calling me a nigga
at least I can be happy knowing I'm not poor white trash like you.
Noah Miller
I'd like to believe people are intelligent enough to stop buying their shitty food and protest automation in general, but from my observations, they aren't... we've lost so many jobs to outsourcing and we've been getting replaced by machines for a while. A rising population and a shrinking job market... we're just about fucked at this point. >inb4poor
Aaron Gray
>replacing cashiers with order machines >removal of need for human interaction which is a legit problem for NEETs who are too poor for real food >removal of need for cashiers to interact with various undesirable clients who just want to throw a fit or a scene or flirt >removal of worry for cashiers about proper counting/not missing clients' money/not forgetting if they didn't pay which can legit cripple a typical mini-wage cashier financially
>only drawback is that niggers and single moms have to work the kitchen instead of interact iwth clients
I live in some shitty as small town and even we got these touch screens at McDonalds now.
Apparently they hire about 24 people now. They use to hire 75.
Luis Ortiz
I'd assume back then paying a niglet a minimal wage was cheaper to use nationwide.
Austin Gutierrez
This article is from last year..
Jordan Martinez
Good.
This way, I don't have to interact with poorfags as much as before.
Jack Rodriguez
And now we got these idiots who hate liberals so much that they would willingly see our country's economy go into depression just so they can see others suffer.
Sup Forums has gotten to the point of flanderization.
Tyler Hill
>protest automation in general
The Luddites always lose. Plus why would you want people working at fast food places in the first place? It's a terrible existence. Nobody should be forced to do a job we can automate.
Charles Morales
Figure out the tax income each of those employees would have provided to the state and tax the kiosks.
Xavier Russell
>protest automation in general
Why don't you protest all that farming automation that has allowed us to produce thousands of times more food for less than 1/40th of the human effort that it took 150 years ago?
Mason Foster
Hey, bro. Funny racism, lelelelelel, but I got a serious problem I was wondering if you could help me with; I was talking to this girl, who was really really REALLY pretty, right? Well, I asked here to 'gibe le succ' and she kicked me in the DICK with her sharp ass high heels! And today, I was getting ready to beat my meat, when all of a sudden, I notice that I can't get it up, ya' know? In fact, quite the opposite! My dick went in the opposite direction, MY COCK WAS RECEDING! It took the word of a flathead screwdriver just to get the sucker out! And now, a few hours later, I notice bulging veins from my feet to just around my shin. HELP!
Austin Young
>Make customer do the job of cashiers Fucking jews. Next they would force us to make burgers themselves.
Ayden Powell
Same here, but the cashier also works the drive-thru, and drive-thru takes precedence.
Joseph Ramirez
The problem you idiots don't realize is that when the cashiers are automated and put out of work, they'll try to find other low-skill high labor jobs. We are already in a market where getting one is exceptionally hard, and once they are put out of work they will go on welfare, therefore draining the state and causing inflation.
Now that Walmart is starting the process thats 1.3 million US jobs going out. Now process that with paying each of them $20,000 a year from the government.
You idiots bitch about liberals taking your tax money in welfare but now you literally want those who do have jobs to lose them so they can be a drain as well?
I can't believe the idiocy on Sup Forums nowadays. Shit has gone downhill since election season tenfold.
Brayden Ward
>just raise min wage they said
HOW ABOUT THE RENT AND TAXES ARE TOL DAMN HIGH
Luis Diaz
>you idiots Look who replies to you, here McD pays like 3 times minimal wage.
Josiah Nelson
It was gonna happen eventually OP. No surprise. The future is now. These workers are gonna have to perk up and go look for a job elsewhere, or as cooks there (if they have any room left).
Connor Torres
It totally fucking happened.
Collapse lets money and power be consolidated. I don't think the $15/hour was a good idea; I think automation is inevitable. More people will lose money than gain money, but those that do will gain tons.
UBI will be needed to prevent armed uprisings in the future, but anons shouldn't be like "Hurrr welfare is fucked" because it can just be deducted from everyone's taxes evenly and everyone can get an even return. $400/month is a fuckton to a broke person, but mortgage subsidy to multi-millionaire.
UBI can be conservatively done and not fuck everything up.
Easton Gomez
I was in Stockholm last year. Restaurants called Max already have a similar system. It worked well when we ordered, especially since we could see a menu in english on the touchscreen. Plus, their labor force during lunch hours was half that of a normal McDonalds since there is no need for a bunch of people taking orders...
Xavier Myers
Used a kiosk at McDonalds in Boston near Fenway Park before Red Sox game recently. Took a little getting used to but better than payin some bernie bro 15 an hour
Lucas Hughes
but muh $15 an hour
Jacob Russell
B-but muh immagrunts!
Grayson Harris
Automation is good
but in this case it is forced by government to cause inflation and overspendings
companies will be forced to invest money! by force LOL because government ordered them to increase cost price LOL (green energy meme)
it is called "crony socialism" and manipulation with debt/gdp stats.
Henry Hill
> intersectionality
Aaron Ross
They already have this at most Canadian locations. There is one cashier that takes orders for the elderly/tech inept or hating, and takes cash for the orders made at kiosks that weren't paid via debit/credit. Then there are 4-6 kiosks that take the orders and payments for almost everyone. It works really well actually.
Mobile app ordering is planned soon for the US which is even easier (saved payment in app and "favorite orders" that you can repeat with a couple of taps).
But shit like this will inevitably lead to universal basic income. Driverless cars, automated order kiosks, cashless tolling tags... these all eliminate jobs to the benefit of society (lower prices), but eventually a lot individuals will have no skill worth paying a wage for.
Jayden Hernandez
Automation is best for everyone in the end. Though leading up to that is extremely harmful to everyone. The silver lining is that Bernie shills are BTFO by automation.
Nathaniel Carter
Object lesson regarding consequences if liberal policies in 3,2,1......
Daniel Price
You dumb fucks. This is about making your customers work for you for free.
The system the person behind the counter uses is already a touch screen order taker. All they are doing is turning the screen 180 degrees and making it bigger. From now on, you get to do minimum wage labor every time you go out for food! It's exactly the same thing as grocery stores putting in self checkout machines. They lie about it being faster, but all it means is that you need to work for the grocery store if you want your food.
Companies have been doing this more and more, ever since they replaced phone operators with making you press buttons and navigate the phone system yourself.
You idiots clap your flippers and say "Yay they are eliminated jobs!" when in reality, they are just firing workers, hiring you, and not paying you.
Next it's going to be putting order machines at restaurant tables and making you go pick it up when your order is done.
Camden Allen
Government interferes with the market causing low wages and high prices, then makes laws to fix the wages. We cannot keep doing this shit.
Easton Richardson
...but...but...what will the mexicans & niggers do if there's no zero-skilled work available?
Jayden Young
>Next it's going to be putting order machines at restaurant tables and making you go pick it up when your order is done. They bring the good to you at your McDonald's? Those fuckers just call your number when your shit is ready so you can pick it up at the counter at mine.
Dominic Nguyen
>self checkout isnt faster In what universe do you live in
Charles Howard
It's not related to labor laws at all. Automation is a fact of life in every industry. Personally I don't like their automated cashier so I'll be going elsewhere when possible.
David Cruz
>You might not like burger flippers but with automation millions of people stand to lose their jobs and risk flinging our country into another great depression. Great, another fucking libtard who doesn't understand jack shit about economics. The only thing risking causing a great depression in your $15/hr minimum wage bullshit. That drives businesses OUT OF BUSINESS. Then they don't add any money to the economy. It crashes. McDonalds could entire automate their businesses (were that possible) and still be adding money to economy. It would just mean some of you useless leftists would be out of work. Most of you don't work anyway. You stay at home all day and troll Sup Forums.
Cameron Reed
They're not stupid. They're liars. Everything they do works, in terms of what their actual aims are. Quit acting like leftists are dumb. The (((leaders))) are pure evil, and have a strategy that's been winning for over a century.
Bentley Hernandez
I'm willing to press a few buttons if it means I don't have to associate with a McDonald's employee
Andrew Ortiz
A universe who reads studies on the subject.
Go look it up.
Dominic Gomez
I imagine staff levels won't drop proportionately to automation.
I work in a supermarket and it's always a case of prioritising the most immediately pressing tasks at the expense of everything else because they can't afford enough staff to do everything necessary.
Ten years ago, before the crash, there were excess staff because they could afford it, so I imagine automation, ie: effectively free workers, would gradually bring it back to the excess level that they'd preferentially operate on before workers get laid off.
Blake Roberts
>Great, another fucking libtard wrong
stopped reading there
Andrew Clark
>wages aren't factored into prices at all Yeah, okay buddy.
>It's exactly the same thing as grocery stores putting in self checkout machines. They lie about it being faster, but all it means is that you need to work for the grocery store if you want your food. My grocery store has scanners that you take when you go in and you scan everything as you go throughout the store. Then when you get to the self checkout, you use the scanner on a barcode above the register. Dozens of items ring up in a couple seconds and then you just put your payment method.
Even if you don't scan your own items before getting to the self checkout, it's way fucking faster if your grocery store has a real self checkout and not the retarded NCR SelfServ ones (UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA).
Tyler Moore
ACCELERATIONISM IS COMING
Only Mexicans work at Mcdonalds nowadays anyway. Who gives a shit
Juan Cruz
They do it in every service around the world
But people stop to use service if it requires to read or to type too much. it is an offence to customer
People are not so stupid.
Asher Barnes
Doesnt work that way. Once you are called out as a liberal you magically turn into one.
Xavier Lopez
Enjoy AI revolution
Ayden Ortiz
>these all eliminate jobs to the benefit of society (lower prices), but eventually a lot individuals will have no skill worth paying a wage for. Solution - prostitution. Legal again. Demand never runs out.
Cameron Lopez
This is fucking retarded. No one doubts these jobs would eventually go away. The problem is that wage controls are an artificially imposed forcing function. It's still costing companies more to do this than if they were to continue paying lower wages to people, for at least a few more years. Inevitability is one thing. Timelines are another entirely. Same applied to abolition, and we fucked that up catastrophically too.
Michael Turner
Just the cashiers are being replaced (for now). I don't think they were the biggest foid-spit culprits.
Jayden Turner
Already have a few near my McDonalds. The machines never have receipt paper in them or the card reader doesnt work so I have to use a cashier. Seems we are still a decent while from full automation at micky d's.
Nicholas Johnson
>You dumb fucks. This is about making your customers work for you for free. Literally the first intelligent person in this thread.
Jack Reyes
> >But is the economic collapse that will occur because of this worth it so your food is prepared the way you like it?
This situation came about because low skill workers think that they should get $15/hr to put French fries in a bag, not because they haven't been preparing the food a certain way.
James Wood
>government Seriously? Why is it the government's fault if your in the wrong career path? If you're already there, just get educated in whatever else is not automatable in the foreseeable future.
Matthew Brown
>tfw you realize automation is intended to combat the dindu takeover of retail
I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords
Justin Ramirez
Are these corporate locations or franchise locations?
