That's my point, most of Europe is part of the Hollywood machine (in the production) instead of adding to their own industry. The French are the only ones that really have their own. It's easier for Britain because they speak the same language. Also the UK has lowered the taxes for film production again so you see many more movies set in London or filmed in the Highlands

I think the countries you pick are bad fits for military alliances. Generally I believe you should pick allies close by so you can actually reinforce each other. Britain, Portugal Ireland Norway is a good fit. Britain and Poland is an example of a poor alliance vs Germany because each has to bypass German territory to reinforce each other as demonstated by Britains failed attempt to reinforce Poland in Ww2. But military alliances are not the same as economic. The reason the EU is tanking is because it attempts to unify countries that are bad fits economically. I think one of the major problems idealists face is they want to implement their big ideas without considering the practical realities of what they want to achieve. The problem with formal allies is if they are attacked you HAVE to send forces even if it isn't practical to do so.
