I'm at BU, and this shouldn't even be a concern for you. I'm honestly a little surprised they didn't hit that rate before, because so much of Harvard is foreign, mostly from China and India. They basically spend 4 years in Boston, then return to China or India, where they become heads of industry and government. Harvard is effectively an international institution that just happens to be in the US, not really an American one.
Harvard doesn't mean shit anymore, they employ a pass or fail system in classes and are run completely off of private donors. Higher education has run itself into the ground, nowadays you can walk into most jobs with an everymans degree and be just fine

That's completely dependent on how much nepotism there is in a given field. For example, if you're in education or engineering, then you're right, you can get by on a degree from just about anywhere. But if you're in law or public policy, you HAVE to go to a Harvard or a Princeton if you ever want to get very far.

I know lawyers are coming up with technology to make lay people more informed about their legal rights and options, but I don't know enough about the automization of law. But assuming you're right, that would still mean that the last lawyers to be driven out of the field would be the most prestigious and qualified - in other words, the ones from top schools like Harvard.

I got an engineering degree from Columbia a few years ago and have never had any problem finding a good job, meanwhile my friends from state schools are constantly cucked. Doesn't matter if competition is a 4.0 from UCSB because plenty of hiring officers just cream themselves over the Ivy League name. I'm not saying the education is better or you learn much more than a non-ivy, it's just that having that emblem on your diploma is so valuable.
