I don't frequent Sup Forums, much less Sup Forums, but I'm itching to start a shitty argument about politics so here I am.
Quick summary of my views: I try to be apolitical, or at least centrist, but I definitely lean left. Science over politics, globalism over tribalism. Trump is kind of a dipshit. The alt-right is autism but so is antifa. There is no political system without flaws (often major flaws). People, and therefore politics are way more complex than most people would like to admit.
News outlets I take seriously: Politico, The Economist, FiveThirtyEight, Reuters, NPR, Al Jazeera and various apolitical science outlets
News outlets I don't take seriously: Vice (killer documentaries though), Breitbart, Fox, CNN, Vox, NYT, huffington post, the atlantic, and anything that's obviously alt-right or alt-left

I have libertarian views on rights, near socialist views on taxation and welfare, but at the same time I think a limited government model has merit and could be effective. I don't consider one particular political stance to be the "correct" stance. Not every political system has been tried, it's difficult to say what works and that doesn't because of the noise and problems inherent in switching from one political system to another.
