I'm not referring specifically to the recent Charlottesville incident (though it's definitely a tipping point), but to everything that has been brewing since 2012 or so. Occupy Wall Street, third-wave feminism, identity politics, GamerGate, the refugee crisis, the "alt-right, so on and so forth.
Has world gone mad? Am I one of the few sane left, and everyone has submitted to the narrative and constant lies churned by the media?
Is the other way around, and I'm part of an old world being left behind?
The Internet has radicalized people. Technology evolved rapidly, but humanity didn't. We weren't ready for all the world's information to be available to everyone, uncensored, at any given time.

I think about this a lot, have since it became clear in 2014 that the "liberal order" we all lived under began to disintegrate.
1. Areligiousness. Don't give me your fedora bullshit, religion gives billions of people a sense of purpose and integrity. Removing it has lead to ennui, the birth of pseudo-religious experiences (St. Steve of Jobs and the Magic Negro are perfect examples) but, because these still can't give purpose, nihilism.
2. Most people do not sense there is a destiny for their country or even a point to them existing. Being a bulwark against communism or simply imperialism and nationalism gave large groups of people the same feeling as religion, but on a macro level -- that mankind as a whole was progressing in some direction. Today most people believe the "War on Terror" was a grave mistake and are busy virtue signalling about Crying Muslim Cab Drivers.
3. A general rootlessness has aided the atrophying effects of the first two. To what does a newborn child "belong" these days? By the time he or she (or XIR) is a sentient creature, it probably doesn't really belong to anything.
4. All of these things apply to whites. Blacks and brown people are still animated by tribal and/or nationalistic sentiments and understand the clear cultural value of religion and family and haven't given into this madness, though if they "replace" us, they eventually will face it too.
This is actually the last stage of capitalism/liberal democracy, I think: isolated beings wearing cheap shoes with sparkles who believes in nothing.

Make sure you have enough to sustain yourself for one season and for seed crops. Make sure you have a reliable, safe water source. Make sure you can keep warm in the winter. Get some chickens or something, you may have to grow their food. If you can't be sure that you can sustain any of these things then get on it and learn to be self sufficient. If you can, get a shotgun so you can shoot rabbits and game birds easy. Stack up on shells.

Minor correction: Pensions and Social Security aren't the problem, assuming that employee and employer pay into it and the company running it makes sound investments and is able to fund each person. Social Security is actually not able to spend money they don't have BY LAW. They are 100% self sufficient, and have like 5 years of operating income in their treasury. The system DOES require a stable population of working people to stay viable in the long run though. Sudden drops or waves of baby boomers retiring rock the boat, so they need a good treasury to keep things flowing.
The REAL problem are BENEFITS. These are huge drains on the system and contribute NOTHING. Unemployment, Welfare, SNAP, etc cost huge amounts.
