We need to pivot and fight the silicon valley trash, hard. They are trying the hardest to control the narrative in the US and abroad. Changing T&C of their platforms to match the political leanings of the new age Marxists.
Mister Metokur or @WeWuzMetokur has come up with an idea that i think will hit the fucks in their wallets.
Here is what I'm thinking: We push for ISPs to take over and loose their utility status. Free market and all that shit. Here is where the plan gets great, if the push back is immense (it will be) then we just push for google to become a utility just like the ISPs. It is easier than you think. To become a utility we pretty much just have to prove that more than 80% of people only use one set or company in the US or that the companies are synonymous with their functions.
I don't think this is smart, tech giants are already huge intellectuals that understand our nuanced points through and thru, they just like us have no idea how to implement them, however they know that the opposition wants to be quelled so they are going where the market "can" in most regards. plus they cover their ass with these diversity initiatives to the public as well as the skinning roots of SJWism everywhere that endanger their growth. i'm not proposing theyre secretly our guys or anything, I just know how bad the climate actually is out there and how google will always fight our ideas until those roots are magically gone. just be sure you are ready for a hard fight, google is a business and will always act like ones have in the past.
Alexander Parker
>tfw you finally realize why Trump was anti net neutrality all along.
Jackson Perez
bump
Isaac Peterson
You don't get it. The push for ISP is honestly a half bluff. 1) ISP control is not even that bad of a thing and it will allow more companies to jump in. No more shitty time warner 2) No one on the internet is going to go for ISP control which means it is a short walk to labeling Google and other platforms as a utility.
We did it to TV and Radio why not the fucking internet. Let us disrupt google's monopoly but having the US government fuck with them
Alexander Hernandez
and if anything changes, (((who))) do you think will have a bigger part and control of internet traffic?
Joseph Lee
This shit is going to get worse before it gets better. The best way is to either turn large platforms like YouTube and twitter into utilities or we allow the free market to literally rape their assholes to death
Captcha avenida frei
Adam Bell
just to add to my point - how well did that turn out for TV and radio?
Thomas Perez
Net neutrality is like pro choice.
Sounds great until you understand that it means the ISPs have to play ball with the us government on every little thing.
Net neutrality is the reason we have one of the lowest download speeds in the first world nations.
John Phillips
Actually really well. It allowed small companies to start their own broadcasting channels and allowed the consumers to pick and choose what they wanted.
We went from 20 channels to now thousands
Ethan Morris
I just think we need a blockchain alternative to this that is fast enough for opinions to flow before we start weaponizing anything, but I do agree the word needs to spread now.
Juan Hill
In the interim we need to fight for this or some plan similar
Julian Smith
no, you have the slowest download speeds because you have huge internet companies and no alternatives. the same thing happened in bulgaria - before there were a lot of really small internet companies and we were for sure in top 10 in the world of internet speeds. now everything is getting sucked up by giant companies and the quality is dropping and stagnating. if you want better internet speeds, then beef up the antitrust laws against internet providers, dont make them even more powerful
Jonathan James
>We went from 20 channels to now thousands all owned by 6 companies. all pushing the same narrative.
Blake Brown
Right getting rid of ISP utility status will allow more competition, more companies, better speeds
Brayden Harris
There are a lot of subsidiaries but it is still a lot more competition. And a lot of the new name were then bought out later meaning these new companies broke through barrier of entry
Nathaniel Hughes
more capital doesnt mean more companies. also explain the whole utility thing - what does it change?
Easton Hernandez
exactly being bought out later is bad. that is what is happening now in bulgaria (or happened in the past 5 years) and it all went to shit
Jeremiah Martin
Have a bump
Easton Edwards
Utility means that it is mandated by the government to provide a certain level of service to all carriers or customers. It is known as a natural monopoly, no innovation, low competition if any, and consumers sometimes have no choice but to pay in. Labelling google as a utility would be harmless since we already use it as one
Evan White
This is more or less caused by the recession and cheap buy outs not due to free market
Cameron Robinson
yeah... thats really really bad. really really really bad, as the internet is not a necessity, it is a channel of information flow. you are literally giving them the ability to control the last bastion of free information flow in the modern world.
Zachary Howard
yes that is true. the salvation doesnt lie in regulating it on a governmental level though. the salvation lies in breaking up the monopolies.
Camden Lee
