Redpill me on universal income

Redpill me on universal income.

It's the opposite of negative interest rates.

No.

This is far dumber than UI

People would get lazy because there is nothing left to work for.

It's an absolutely necessity because eventually labor will all be automated. We have 7 billion people on this planet already and eventually there just literally will not be enough work for even a fraction of that number.

Plus, if we cut ALL welfare and substituted it with universal basic income would be much better.

Isn't that the point of, well, civilization? To make life easier for everybody?

Not really. Who didn't think it was going to come down to UBI or some such thing to keep the game going a short while longer?

If we all become lazy, who's going to manage society once it hits a roadblock?

Machines with AI, of course.

>implement universal income
>everybody stops working
>society falls apart
>everybody starves to death
the end

No

So nobody thinks universal basic income would free people to find what they enjoying working on in life, instead of being forced to worry about bare survival?

i dont think fields like engineering, medical and general research, law enforcement personnel, etc will ever be automated, and you cant possibly have part of the population on traditional labor and the other getting paid for doing nothing

Most of the breadline cards I see go toward such high and mighty ideals of trying to buy soda by the carton. No, not bare survival.

Machines don't last forever. Who's going to fix them when they're damaged? Who's going to ensure they don't become too smart? etc etc

Why not? People who are good at those "more traditional" jobs are doing good for society, while those being paid "for doing nothing" can take their time to find what they want to do in life. Seems win-win to me.

Here's the redpill.
It's communism.
Anyone espousing it is a filthy red. Gas em.

Full blown communism 2.0

>redpill me on universal income
Well, well, let me just tell you a joke. That would be easier for you to understand and we can get a good laugh aswell right? Alright, here we go. *clears throat*... *starts lauging*.. hold on just a second... PFFFFFFFFFFFT *grabs mic* *giggles*... w-HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA..sorry sorry!.. *tries to hold in laughter*.....work HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHA

Retardation

Guess we're gonna have to have some smart, trained people to support all those lazy uneducated plebs out there. Catch-22, then.

Civilization is made to sate man's need for balance between comfort, needs and aspirations.

Yes you can. Even people who work will get full universal basic income, they will just want to work to have something to do and earn some extra shekels.

>Free people to do what they enjoy
user, I feel like too many of those people enjoy gangbanging and hard drugs for us to just give them free shit

Universal Bugman Income, comes with a monthly supply of mandatory Soylent and goji berries

>lets make money worthless lmao

Right, and UBI would help do that.

>Who's going to fix them when they're damaged?

Well, not the whole fucking workforce.

> forced to worry about bare survival?

does anybody worry about it that isn't the worst parts of Africa?

> basic income would free people to find what they enjoying working on in life

nobody enjoys working, most would probably fuck, drink, take drugs and be an asshole. Exactly like children of rich people do, so people who really do work for the betterment of human kind would be like wtf? why do it?
So there is no production, who pays for the basic income?

People want to live luxury without wanting to work.

Yeah, homeless people and inhabitants of the ghettos, who often just happen to be disproportionately black and hispanic.

Because nobody will do those jobs if they can get money for doing nothing

No idea what I'm talking about: The Post

Why would anyone stop working to live like the rest of the peasants when they could work whatever they want and brag about their extra few thousand dollars to spend?

Gets rid of unnecessary administration and nullifies criminal incentives. Also it's cheaper than abandoning people that aren't actually useful, much like how it is cheaper to incarcerate rather than to execute.

Who the fuck wants to brag about a few extra thousand dollars? Not me.

I just enjoy having more than I need so I can go do fun things once and a while, splurge to do things with my family, and generally not have to worry too much about living week to week.

A few months ago I bought a cheap funcar. It's fun :D

AI is advancing very rapidly. So no job is really safe. And the guy working would also get universal basic income. So if you want something more you would be working too.

AI isn't the only problem. A lot of jobs can now often be done remote. People that can work remote will probably more and more go where the taxes are low. But you have to be able to massively tax people for your UBI. So we also need a Berlin style wall with soldiers that kill all fleeing remote workers.

Uh, "redpill"? You mean you want to think like a contrarian? That's problematic. See kid, I used to be like that, but I gotta tell you something... well, anyway. Let me perform a deeper analysis on your profi... oh, wait, it's already flagged for more thorough checking.

Don't worry, the system just picked up some random unwanted image thought in your mind. We'll check the timeline, if it just popped briefly you're good to go. Boy, I think some crazy shit sometimes... but I'm taking the everypills. Can you believe there's people trying to convince people to stop taking the pills? I'd go nuts if I did.

Let me perform a quick string search... En, eye, gee gee... Uh oh. We'll have to talk later, I'll have to leave for a second. Shaniqua, come over here. Tell Robert to mark ID Y7NUPZ as deactivated, and ask Jim to come over here — tell him it's another whack case... uh, I forgot you just started this week Lashon... Shaniqua. See, my wife. It's a fucking headache everyday these days. Anyway, it's a procedure 6, that's what you should say.

So, OP, as I was saying... I used to be quite "up", y'know, for asking too many questions. Then one day, now here's the thing, it was kind of a hectic week in the country. But that day i wrote a post on the Internet...

Look at what Wal-Mart did with it's pricing of basic items when food stamps became a thing.
They raised the prices because they knew the govt. was able to subsidize the price increase.
UBI would result in a universal market correction for consumer goods.
There would be an expectation that the majority of recipients of the UBI would be working to receive an additional income.

Without the addition of govt. intervention like price fixing of consumer goods, UBI will just inflate the currency it's dolled out in.
It's a quick feel good fix.
It's worse than doing nothing.

Well-put!

>Do you know what the projects are?

There you go

It will be used to control political thought. Be a good goy, or they'll take it away.

ah America. I'll see myself out, here in Europe only drunks and druggies are homeless. Maybe the odd one that his wife stole his house.

snack food $$$
UBI subsidizes cheetos, gummy worms, and sodapop

this topic is to my interest.

I'm a centrist in views (which these days would automatically make me a nazi), and I'm listening to pros and cons in the topic of UBI.

I'll be following this thread.
