Just because they have elements of it doesn't mean that they are a socialist/communist/whatever state. Canada has socialist elements, but they're not a socialist country.

No historian or economist of any political affiliation worth their salt would claim that the Nazis were socialist, because they fucking weren't.

Only in the US. In regards to the original left-right dichotomy, it was associated with the republican-monarchist dichotomy. Over time the right came to encompass tradition and socially conservative values, which Fascists and National Socialists explicitly embodied. The alt-right also recognizes the value of social conservatism and tradition, unlike much of the "conservatives" today, and thus it is the "alternative" right.
