I work for the government. I am recession proof.

Working on getting a permanent position as a civilian contractor in the military, so there's a lot of job security.

What happens to disability bux during recessions?

I work in the pool industry, so perhaps I'm a little at risk. Seeing how they are luxury items however, I think I'm okay.

Famous last words

I'm in manufacturing but our product is in great demand. My hours could maybe be cut. Seeing as my company just made another large investment with itself, I say I'll think we'll be fine.

Water plant operator, I'm good.

Defense contracting. Unless the geopolitical realities of the world change anytime soon I'm good.

>Get new job delivering pizza

...People always need pizza I guess?

since I run a business that relies on wealthy people I would be fucked.

Im a labtechfag/chemist for an automotive parts company. I wont be layed off easily due to my daily work, but if the company goes down I'll have no choice but to jobhunt.
If they choose to lay me off or fire my though, I'll be taking all my company process secrets and chemical knowledge to one of their competitors.

Classic Roach

>insurance

law says you have to have car insurance. don't forget to pay your premium this month, kids. hate to have you get in trouble.

I work software development. There's no shortage of work and the only thing keeping me from quitting my current job and going to a higher pay is that I enjoy the office culture.

bretty gud

god, what a dumb bitch

>I work for the government.

As do I, as a forensic computer examiner. The job itself is pretty secure, and I'm the senior guy so I'm even more secure, but nothing is "recession proof".

Why do you think that?

because your job is nothing more than a line item on a budget that can get whacked....?

I'm a system admin. I can see what billion dollar companies are trading. My job's secure so long as I don't fuck up or leave.

where's the money going other than equity markets? bond yields are shit until you get to the risky ones

fx

Not exactly, but trips of truth means I'm fucked then?

it doesn't mean you're fucked, it just means you can get bushwhacked.

My job is specialized, I'm employee 1of 1 as far as my job goes, plus I'm in a union. I'm pretty comfy.

I work in security for the oil pipelines, that won't be going away probably, because turnover is awful, and my time at work is spent studying IT for the future.
And if it does go away, I'll just get a student loan and go to trade school to get an electrician ticket.

Metric unit isn't a British currency

I work an a cannabis farm making $25.50 an hour.
My whole life I have delt in marijuana.

I work in coordination with a production line for anheuser Busch.

I will literally be the very, very last thing to go, none of you faggots will outlast me.

Aviation: pilot or airframe and powerplant technicician

Industry grew and wages increased after the great recession of 08.

There were no significant layoffs that I am aware of. Some companies did go under, but the pilots and mechanics were quickly hired by competitors.

There is a shortage of both pilots and A&P's, forcing wages up.

We have a union seniority system. Once you are senior enough, you are almost immune to layoffs unless the whole company goes under.

Roofer

Pre recession: people have enough money to afford a brand new roof
During recession: people that can still afford a new roof buy them, people who can't afford it need repairs.

I'm pretty safe.

Starting my job in a warehouse next week. It's a step up from retail, so I think I'll be good.
