Bill Hicks and George Carlin were both incredibly Liberal dudes, but both were both incredibly redpilled. The fact that the right unironically thinks he would be their guy, really shows you how much society has changed. The left has forgotten that left wingers like him used to be fighting for free speech, they've been so corrupted by power they're deciding they hate civil rights now because it slows down their ideological goals.
Both Hicks and Carlin would have hated the rise of politically correct culture but it's hard to see them being any more right wing than "classical Liberals" are. They lived in a different time when the Christian Right held more sway over society and were its chief censors.
I really feel Carlin suffers hard from the Seinfeld Effect. Back in the day some of the shit they did was insanely controversial and very effective at enacting social change. His seven dirty words bit being broadcast over radio led to an FCC case, and while the supreme court upheld the censorship at the time, I'd argue his criticism was part of what eventually led to the repeal of censorship laws. His social commentary seems obvious these days but that is because he was SO effective at changing the status quo his observations seem too obvious and uninteresting now.
Keep in mind Carlin was saying a lot of this shit when the Christian Right were fucking ORGANIZED and influential and could apply pressure to keep people off the airwaves and out of theatres.

In regards to Schumer, again, this was a woman who I never really noticed having any principles whatsoever.
