College is a scam but the real redpill is population. Whatever is expected to make money will be saturated in 7 years, something new needs more people, and the cycle continues. But it's never going to go back to a point when most people had good work.

NO!

>1 year tech school
Those don't exist. You can go to a CC but rarely do they have trades programs other than something like Automotive Technology.

Or you can go to ITT Tech or some other bullshit private trade school that are even more expensive than the Universities

Apprenticeships ate highly competitive. You either to know somebody or you need a degree to stand out, which defeats the purpose

Kek

just be good at what you do, even the meager wage cuck can attain success by just applying themselves.

modern 'colleges' are indeed a scam and a weaponized blue pill.

maybe in USA. other countries were you don't get assfucked with debt is alright

>Megan is knocked by some nigger
>he run away soon after nigglet is born

>Mark patiently wait for some christian pure woman
>he build his own house and start family

>20 years later Mark is killed for wearing Trump hat he had since 2017
>he was murdered by grown up nigglet which turned to be Megan spawn

Well, shouldn't your country stop coming into my country stealing jobs then? You fucking retard, stay in your shithole.

In the US: yes, for the most part.

Within som fields things have gotten so bad that European institutions don't want to encourage their students to do an exchange year in the US.

I attended a 1 year tech school back in the 90's. It was basically voluntary 13th grade with narrow focus.

These things don't exist anymore? They had phlebotomy, computers, paralegal... all sorts of shit that make sense rather than going to college.

Gib jobs

>Is college a scam?

It really depends on what you're attending college for. If your plan is to enter a field that requires that piece of paper, then no, it's the price you pay for admission.

If it's to get some generic degree or a degree in a field which doesn't actually require that degree, then yes, it's a scam.

I've tried looking up 'tech school' and 'trade school' on Google, all the results seem like very shady private schools which charge 20k to get some kind of certificate for things like IT and cosmetology. They just seem like big money rackets.
Community colleges would be fucking fantastic if they started offering more trades programs, but you're lucky if they have even 1 or 2 programs in things like HVAC, carpentry, plumbing etc.
I wish the US would step up its game and add job training programs that are available to everyone at a low cost, and place them everywhere, in every little city and town.

College/University is a kind of investment.

...

Educated != intelligent, I think all the liberals today prove that.

University is for if you want to be an academic/researcher/professional; no everyone wants those professions. Also some tech school courses are more difficult than university ones, mainly arts.

I went to trade school. Not technically college but sorta similar. There's always gonna be a need for tradesmen. Well, for 10-20 years until we have better range on automated devices and we can send them out from some sort of headquarters.

plumbing is pretty fun, too.

>went to school for welding
>everything still requires 5 years experience
Fuck the trade meme

that's why you shop around for apprenticeships.

Today? Yes.
College campuses are modern indoctrination camps.

everything is a scam. I haven't called an electrician, plumber or mechanic in years, 90% of their job I can youtube and do it myself in an hour.

That's fine for piecemeal stuff, but if you ever have a major issue, home owners insurance won't cover that sort of stuff. You'll get royally fucked.

>These things don't exist anymore?
They do. He's mad because he's $100,000 in debt with a liberal arts degree.

college used to be for smart and talented kids only. They all got jobs.
in PC climate everyone is "smart", gets a trophy and a college degree. That is the problem.
Eliminate AffA, reduce the student volume by 70%, raise score levels, eliminate useless degree programs completely (fire their professors), and ban non-us residents/citizens from attending American colleges (they do tuition inflation).
After this all implemented, college will be made great again.

College is not a scam. Just don't be an idiot who attends an out of state college, or a private college. Also if you are really tight on money commute and go to a college where you know you can get a scholarship.

what's a "major issue"?

Shalom

College is a scam for plenty of reasons. Everyone takes out debts that are guaranteed by the US government. This lets colleges raise their prices to absurd rates because the necessity of college is in the zeitgeist.

It's also a scam because colleges are far more of a business than an institute of learning. The customer is always right so if people scream loud enough the professor will capitulate. God forbid the school loses out on the $100-200k the student is going to give it over 4 years.

>welding
If you have the skill, then they'll hire you. In welding it doesn't matter how many years you worked because you're taking the same weld test regardless.
Just because they ask for 5 years experience doesn't mean that they actually mean it.

Just dont pick a shit bachelor or master its not really hard. christ. just analyze your countries market and slightly guess where itll be in a couple of years and combine that with something that mildly interests you, if you're not a median fucking loser you'll stand out anyway, fucking prole's I swear to god.

Im an automotive tech. No way someone is earning 70k a year after 1 year let alone when they get there Journeyman. Either way college is a scam. Go get a trade at least at the end of the day you have done something productive.

This. Our government murdered tech schools to funnel students into the uni scam.

Well, as a for instance, a housefire. Without proper documentation of plumbers, electricians, or other servicemen being at your home, and say something like a breaker lit up, caught everything on fire? You're fucked. You did it yourself, they'll find whatever you did to fix it (even if it's good quality), find signs of the repairs somewhere down the line, find they're unofficial, and talk to you about it. It happens a lot in plumbing in particular, winter is really bad in arizona where I live, lots of broken pipes from older houses. People fix it up and cap it off themselves, all is well since they can't afford paying me $50 for a document and the supplies, but then I get a call when their insurance comes over and finds pvc cement slathered all over some pipe to keep it in place, asks who did the work, and cancels/revokes their insurance when they find that the person isn't going through proper means.

You put yourself at risk by not at least having someone come out to check your shit so you can say "hey nah these guys came and said everything was all good not even a year ago". Most plumbers and electricians will do checkups like that for a nominal fee, usually below $100.

No fucking way he's making $70k a year lol dream on. Where the fuck do you find these things?

They do exist jew.

That's just HR, they slap that bullshit onto every job to cover their arse. Just apply anyway, if you can actually weld and have the papers to prove it then you'll get hired

Yes, rather become a tradesman

So everyone should become a plumber or electrician? Retard

CC, Universities and Tech schools are ALL a scam.

It's all about WHO you know, not WHAT you know.

Just make sure your friends or family can get you a gig, that's all that matters.

ie someone with a MBA and Engineering degree that can't find a job because family and friends think merit is a thing and are useless.

non stem degrees are basically heavy course cuckpill treatments
either learn a trade or just excel at what you do. people value talent more than paper

best education a person can get is a cert for repairs of specific electrical devices; I.E A/C repair.

Only applies if you're comparing worthless majors to trades. STEM majors and certain other non-STEM programs (PharmD, med school, law school if you can get into top 50) are absolutely better than any trade.

70k starting out is a fucking joke. Maybe after 30 years. Your body will also be wrecked by the time you're 40 so enjoy your painkiller addiction.

Well how else do I get a job?

I didn't say build the house yourself. Breaker problem would be on the company the installed it in the first place.

90% of a plumbing is simple shit like snaking/rooting. I'm not sure why I would ever need to make an insurance claim for a broken pipe, cut the water and fix it.

Yes, go to a trade school and look for jobs you don't want to do professionally. Plumbing, HVAC, extermination, caregiving, forest firefighting, all of these pay well and nobody wants to do it because millennials are fags

>forest fighting

What the hell, how do I start a career in forest fighting?

Bullshit. Try to work as an electrician without real knowledge.
You'll be dead/in jail/bankrupt in 3 years or shorter.

By learning how to read first

That's because you're Canadian.

He read it right,
>forest fighting
Sounds fucking great dude lets sign up together

He certainly did not, friend

They exist but they're rare and kinda shit, most colleges in Canada expect 2 years in school plus a year or two of co-operative education (on the job training) to get a diploma, finding co-op can be awful and sometimes you need to travel somewhere pretty far away for it depending on your job, plus all this costs money, and can be quite a lot of money depending on the circumstances.

I went to a college for EE and I dropped out because it cost too much and I had a really hard time finding co-op within 100km of where I live, became a retail manager making $60k anyway after working some shit jobs for a few years.

Just apply yourself like a decent human being and you'll be fine, you don't even have to go to school, I'm becoming more and more convinced that poverty is for fucking losers. If a retard dropout like me can make it, literally anyone with a work ethic can, stop being pussies.

i became an electrical apprentice 4 years ago, it's a 5 year program. Cadillac health plan, pension, 401k, after I get my state license I work within the union for 5 years to pay off my "debt" for the education, or I pay cash, something like $18,000. It's $2,750 per year... math is hard.

Mark
> Will break his body and retire a cripple

tech schools don't take three years to pay unless it's some for-profit shithole that is exploiting you. There are grants in every state that make tech schools and 2 year degrees from community colleges practically free.

volunteer as a firefighter till a spot opens up and apply. some first aid/paramedic classes would help.

I have $0 debt, I never went to university. The only "trade school" near me is a community college that's an hour away, and it only offers HVAC and welding. Before that, I lived in AZ where the only program you could find at a real CC was for welding which has a shit salary.
If you don't know somebody, you're fucked. The job training in US is far behind other countries

college is for people who want to make a difference in the world!

>doesn't give a shit
This isn't a positive.

Specifically forest firefighting.
The local in town jobs are very few and very competitive, everyone wants to be a hunk who spends 16 hours a day sitting on their ass waiting to go save the day and get some trim. Pacific Northwest is full of forest firefighter jobs

Mark doesn't have a job either. Ernesto Gonzales hopped the border and works for peanuts and government gibs.

Socialists and communists are telling young people that
1. they should embrace their individuality and study bs things because muh creativity and sheit
2. being rich and healthcare are human rights
thanks to that young people can't produce anything they could exchange for the material goods they need - houses, cars, food, yet they have high expectations. What can they do? What can do a person who cant create anything to gain the wealth he needs? He has to steal. That's why millenials support bernie and other commies. Stealing is their only hope.

Remember - the root of communism is not faggotry and degeneracy. The root of communism is society which cannot produce its own prosperity.

Increase taxes to make education free.. that way Mark and Megan would become more equal.

Living in MD, went to 0 school went straight to my local 26 union office. Looking at around 24$/hr "Learn while you earn". I'm an indentured apprentice for 5years/ 8,000 hours but then I'll have my Journeymens and will be able to make 50$/hr working on my Master electrician title. Just because AZ is a shithole doesn't mean the developed parts of the country are

2 deep 4 me.

Yes

I have a coworker with a physics master and a friend with a computer engineering degree.
All three of us work as software engineers and I'm the one who makes most money out of all three.

I just have a high school CS diploma and know my shit.

This. That being said, have an exit strategy. There's a reason there aren't any old welders. It's hell on your body.
t. Mining Engineer.

>I do not buy things I cannot afford
>my student loans are not paid off
Fucking lel, a person who is shit with their finances pretending to be fiscally responsible, that's rich. If you have any student loan debt at all you are fucked and a retard, sorry.

The five years of experience are just a CYA in case you wish to say no to someone's application. A good chunk of trades and technical jobs are having massive shortages that if you appear to be a fit for the job, you'll be hired. Some places might even offer paid training if you don't have prior experience but appear clever/interested enough.

>Ernesto Gonzales can fix an ac unit
Wew lad

Germany/Europe has a good schooling system that actually teaches things.

USA tho is a fucking joke. I know complete idiots who get jobs because of connections

Kek, I was contacted by a ""prestigious swiss IT consulting firm"" as they called themselves and they tried offering me a shit contract where I'd even have been paid less than I am right now.

I had to refrain from laughing in their face.

And thats why communism is America's inevitable future muhahaha lol

>paid off school after 3 years
lol so even the trade schools are shit in america? anywhere else in the world you'd've paid the cost of that year in 3-4 months kek Why is america the only country with no free health care and no affordable education? what a shithole jesus

Pretty much all one years are just for the certification, which can land you a lower level job in the same field as a 2 year.
2 year is really the safest bet and still won't put you in tremendous debt because Tech schools cost about the same as a community college because they are categorized as such. My two years only cost me 18,000, which really wasn't cheap but I went to school after working for 6 years so I could pay it.

Of all the guys that did the cert, I believe only 4-5 still don't have a job. Meanwhile everyone who went for the degree (2 year), all got jobs within 2 months. That's my personal experience I don't know the real numbers but take that as you will.

i don't have a degree, but i don't look up or down at people with degrees. several friends have phds'. i am a self taught computer guy. i had to learn everything from hardware, os, peripherals, networking, security. it wasn't until 2008 that i was required to have certifications. i focused primarily on the security part. got well paid, retired at 50.

>Good goyim you must base your life in whats useful to ((us)), you are nothing more than a cog in the machine, chase those green paper we print so you consumeā„¢ more

I will have the luxury of getting my useless degree and make the goverment pay for it :^)

For the US? Not if in-state school and STEM.

Yes all the info you need is online but since my parents could pay I am going through grad-school for the credentials and to not halve to get a job, I am a sociopath.

The 5 years thing is HRspeak for "we're looking for someone who can do basic shit without being spoonfed all the time".

The amount of """senior""" developers who can't throw 10 classes together without being followed every step of the way is depressing.
I have 18 years old interns that are more productive than people with 20 years coding experience.

"Shoulda went to college" LOL

I got scammed hard as fuck when I tried to go to school
>just finished HS
>plan on going to a 2 year school
>pay $550 up front (my entire bank account) for a food plan
>tuition is covered by a grant, take out loans to help pay for supplies and what not
>school takes every single dollar I got from my federal loans and uses them to pay for the dorms (which they lied and said was covered in the grant)
>then demands I pay them another $800 so I take out another small loan for that
>the conditions in the dorms is fucking awful, literally prison tier rooms and prison-tier roomates
>drop out after one semester because I couldn't find a job to help support myself in the mean time
>they still want another 900 dollars from me

I'm 19 years old, 6k in debt and have no income

Just fuck my shit up

based korwin/michalkiewicz

Besides STEM majors, it's a scam.

these days, yes

It's basicly free in Norway, so no lol

There's actually a lot of old time welders... It's an aging profession along with other skilled trades/labor. You're right though... It can get rough on the body. I'm not a welder, I just work with a lot of them (though I am 3g certified).
t. Automation technician

Na, they're just running a marxist, jewish, multi-billion dollar business out of the kindness of their hearts.

>Completed 2 years of Collision Repair in vocational school, wish I did electrical/diesel.
>Absolutely zero(0) auto body shops within a 50 mile radius of where I live, have great auto mechanic knowledge either self-learned or taught by my 62 year old master mechanic father but no papers to prove it.
just fuck my shit up senpai

Thats 14k less debt than most of your peers will have with the same amount of gains

>retired at 50

This is the real redpill. Only cucks are cool with working until they're fucking 70.
My personal goal is two fully paid off properties by the time I'm 30, then save&invest for 15-20 years and retire.

>Work 50 hours and get paid for 40
>virtue signal about it while undercutting wages like women have been doing since 1965

Why can't women into capitalism?

Some of it is still good. Much of it is not. Does it count as a scam if the people perpetuating it are delusional and dont actually see themselves as scamming people?

Either way its fucked and getting worse.

>said the Romans after the collapse of the Roman empire

I envy a colleague of mine. He took advantage of free University there, then moved stateside for cheaper living without the massive EU tax rates.

>burgerland.gif

>0 body shops within 50 miles
>goes to body repair school

Are you actually retarded? How did you not think about this?

Unless you go to Harvard or equivalent, yes.

Even STEM now is bullshit.

> College is now sold as a 4 year life experience party time, rather than achieving something to better yourself
> Everyone has a degree, everyone having something makes it worthless.
> Everyone cheats
> No on takes it seriously
> You walk out in debt and learning nothing, and no one takes you seriously.
