Like Mosley said... Cheap masses of colored labor being worked by a few (((white))) surveyors.

I wish i could know that feeling.

It still does...

No. When was that?

we are not talking about welfare here lib-tard, we are talking real wages

Trickle down

>member when a single income could support a house, a wife, 3 children, and pay all the bills on time with money left over?

I remember that. My father worked a menial job at the factory and my mom stayed at home with me and my brother.

And we still had money left to spare to go on vacation every summer. Sure we didn't live in luxury, but there was never any money problems or anything we couldn't buy that we really needed.

This situation is no longer a possibility. At least not for me, and I'm far better paid/educated than my father ever was.

Its simple. Feminism. Doubled the labor pool without much extra spending(so no new jobs as a result)
It's just that nobody wants to say it.

t. Econ user

this

Women entering the labor force happened. This also kills birth rate.

Feminism is cancer to society.

now we compete for work with people who accept low wages. IE women and Immigrants.

Yep, and they also kept their TV for 30 years, didn't pay for smartphones, pcs, laptops, internet and cable bills, multiple vehicles, etc.

You mean the time when shitty colour tv cost half a month's salary? Or a huge and heavy cellphone. Dunno about murica, but imported goods and electronics are relatively cheaper here than they used to be.

...

If you make less than 80k per year then you simply aren't trying hard enough in your life.

Also
>$200 in food per month for you, wife, and 4 kids(if you dont hunt and fish you're a moron)
>$200 per month utilities(nat gas + solar panels)
>3 story house on 40 acres, built with my friends and I on land that took me 2 years to save up for and buy in full
>property tax is .93% yearly
>own 2 vehicles outright, insurance is $150 total

I literally have no idea how people can't afford things in America. I have a suspicion they have a major case of being pussies that need starbucks.

jews its always fucking jews

The cost of living became higher + inflation.

1965 immigration act

boomers.
thye fucked the economy, then imported shitskins enmasse just to make your it was nice and mega fucked.

>if you dont hunt and fish

Why the hell bother hunting and fishing if you make 80k a year?

The average American family income in 1961 was $6691
In 2017 dollars that's $54,778.

The median US income in 2016 was $55,775.

If you can't pay your bills on time you're probably blowing your money on stupid shit

Haha 90k single salary is more than enough to support a wife, 4 kids, and plenty of luxuries. That's my experience anyways.

>$200 in food for 6 people
shoo shoo skelly

Jews happened

Tastes better, and gives my kids something to learn.

P.s. your yearly wage isn't what you make, it's what you save

If by the end of the year you're still broke, you wasted that year.

>he doesn't know that 4 deer is a year supply of meat

So you save 80k a year? Jesus Christ are you the Monopoly guy?

No

>eats the same thing every day
your children are gonna be manlets

No I was born in 1981. I have no memory of this at all. Thanks baby boomers. You're fuckin awesome!

Perhaps more vigorously, women entered the job market and they are happy to do slave labour for minimum wage.
You can't compete with economic illiteracy.

Yep its almost as if the previous generations didnt spend

> $200/month on cellphones
> $100/month on satellite TV
> $50/month on internet service
> $500/month for a second car so the wife can go to work
> $40/Day eating out because lol ur woman is too busy working for another man

Cars and houses were a lot cheaper 20 years ago as well.

You just described boomers
Who do you think is buying cable?

Crew boss during fire season on a type 1 crew
General contractor the rest of the year

I just work hard, I could probably make more.

>what happened Sup Forums?
Boomers strip mined society.

Literally niggers and welfare abusers

>standard work week now 50+ hours
t-thanks boss

>he lives in a place where a gallon of milk costs more than a dollar

Hows that working out for you?

Retard.
$55,000.00 in 1960 has the same buying power as $451,658.50 in 2017.
Shut your gaping anus and start talking from your mouth.

Trickle down economics.

Fine thanks, I don't need to keep a cow around.

I remember. Born in the 50s. No disposable cash in the family but we had great times. The crap people waste money on today didn't exist back then.

Larger work weeks are from a lack of unemployment fyi

Bullshit. The Democrats strip mined our economy. Corzine.

>What happened?

Federal reserve aka central bank aka red shield bank happened.... Theres no hope for the USA.

youtu.be/mII9NZ8MMVM

Its 86 cents at my local walmart, even the chocolate whole milk

The aldi's across the street from them is 85 cents

Get out of san francisco loser lol

Dear God. It's true what they say. Lefties really do suck at memes.

trickle down economics

I live in the upper midwest. Aldi milk is probably 50¢ desu, I just buy good stuff that's like $2

feminism, more people in the workforce = price of labour goes down. there is more to it of course but when it comes down it this is pretty much it.

Nice

Being this much of a cucked faggot

My grandpa worked in a factory, got little to no government benefits, and could support his sick wife and 5 kids...even send them all to university.

500/mo for a car
lolwtf
pay cash for cars dipshit thats well over half of the DISPOSABLE income you listed having

Illegal immigrants taking our jobs and more luxuries readily available. Back in the day you didn't have an internet bill to pay and buying the latest iphone every year on release day. If you take a good look at your expenses for the month you realize there are a shit ton of payments you have to make where it almost seems like microtransations that add up to a big figure.

>$6691

They were just better than us. Nobody wants to admit it though.

Capitalism. Nothing in this world is perfect whether it is capitalism, communism, socialism or any other political/economic system. The rise of powerful corporations and banks has allowed capital to become concentrated in the hands of a few rich men and women while the rest is diluted among the masses.

Free markets can be a good thing, but if left unregulated problems arise. Success now is now all down to luck.

In the 80s a lot of people made stupid choices. My wife stayed home. We didn't need a second car. My kids were raised at home by my wife. She could make a weeks worth of food for 27 cents per meal. Baking homemade bread. Sunday's roast were my sandwiches for the week. Chicken neck soup with homemade noodles twice a week. Other folks needed two luxury cars, a couple coke fueled nights a week out a clubs. McMansions. Their kids ended up drug addicts and whores. Mine didn't.

Women's expectations were also a lot lower back then, they basically just wanted a not-butt-ugly guy who could pay the bills not Superman, and you could live in a middle/lower class neighborhood that was relatively safe back then. Lots of factors.

1) hunting isn't viable for food everywhere
2) not everyone has the skill or desire to build their own house
3) where do you live? This makes a major difference in taxes, prices of goods, and utilities.

Other than that, I agree. People keep wasting money on shit they don't need, and really don't think about saving as much anymore. You sound like a cool guy though

There is no set amount of 'capital'. People create it and get to keep it.

What you describe is cronyism, not Capitalism. The wealthy pay politicians for protection from competition.

well almost 20 years ago 3310 costed 14-15€ and today phones cost +800-1200€.

Success in life is about what you're willing to do.

Assume everybody is doing their best, and figure out how to make your 100% better than someone elses 100%.

Make your own margin.

explain unironic larper, pls explain

This is true, the general standard of living was lower, so people were willing to put up with less. There wasn't social media constantly beaming carefully curated pictures of other peoples' lives to make you think you were falling behind.

I think the biggest difference was that family and community actually existed among the working class, so they could get by on the equivalent of like 25-30k a year

Wagecuckery happened

You mean communisim you fucking retard

it still can if you put a house on empty land and make the bitch cook and grow vegetables.

jews

*85€

value of the dollar dropped, wages stagnated, women joined the work force en masse, entertainment became the #1 expense for most of the middle class....

as long as you're not retarded you can get $100k/year job

> meme flag
>claims to be economics major
> doesnt mention fiat dollar
> doesnt even recognize that inflation exists
> pretends international trade with slave-holding nations with no regulations is a good thing
> closes eyes and thinks of john maynard keynes when cant get it up
yeah, this guy checks out.

economics "study" is the fastest way to learn everything NOT to do if you want to become prosperous, either personally, or as a nation

juice

This. No shit working part time at McDonald's isn't enough to support a family, but your average medium-tier job in the trades or the lower rungs of the professional world is more than enough provided you can contain your desire for avocado toast.

>what happened Sup Forums?

Nothing, unless you are content working a crap job, in which case what happened is you settled for a crap job.

>bu-but muh $15 wages

Its fine for your old lady to drive a piece of shit if shes working at a convinience store. Different situation when she has a real job.

I cant bitch though, the current system works for me.

>graduate HS
>work in the oilfield
> $100k annual by the time im 20
>Buy some land
>Have a house built
>Co workers daughter is about to graduate
>Start flirting
>Marry that bitch before 2 months after she turns 18
>Put her through college
>Lol no womens studies for you
>make her choose a real degree
>help her with school work so she gets maximum scholarships
>graduated magnum cum louder
>knock that bitch up so she's stuck with me
>combined income is now $230k annual

She wasnt a virgin unfortunately but i think i did fairly well in this day and age

(((Free market))) + (((inflation))), quite surprised you care, since libertarian faggots don't want the state regulating the market.

The labor force doubled when women did the dumb thing and got tricked by the Jew and joined the work force, then made worse when we where then force to compete with countries that treat their people like slaves.

> communist fervently believes all social ills caused by Muh Ebil Kapitalism and Dem Jooz
> so delusional, thinks communism would be better
> doesnt know communism is run by Dem Same Jooz

>europe destoyed during war
>europe depends on american labor
>europe rebuilds for 30 years
>europe starts creating their own wealth and labor

>medium-tier trade job pays $90k

urbanite detected

>I hate it when people lord over me so I want to guarantee that very powerful people are lording over me absolutely!

I've never understood this line of communist reasoning, user. And anyone who thinks we have a free market in the US is a dummy

It will with proper OT

inflation.
outsourcing jobs to china.
Gread, and greedy owners who dont share increased profits with workers.

>people were willing to put up with less
Or rather, less was the norm. It's less in retrospect but back then it was normal or sometimes even luxurious.
Today it's normal to have smartphones, but I remember everybody around me walking with ye olde Nokias, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and all of them saying "nobody needs that sort of luxury, at €600 it's way too expensive for a phone".
They're all walking with €600+ phones now.

That said I try to live a frugal life. When my parents left me in charge of the house for a week as they went on holiday, they came back finding the same bottles of soda, just half empty. Conventionally one of them only lasts the evening.
Same with the food. They were expecting me to buy shitloads of food and go to fast food joints and all that, order pizza's, etc.
Instead they struggled to swallow the idea of living off of salad, smoked sausage and biscuits for the whole week. C'est cheaper, and I'm Dutch after all.

This. I lift 4 times a week and 200 is what I spend every 2 weeks on grub. And I never eat out.

Inflation and minimum wage

Joo plan happened dumbass. Gtfo cuck

Is this the dumbest person to ever post on Sup Forums?

I was thinking more like $70k

In Upstate New York at $50k/year about 46% of my income goes to taxes(sales, gas, etc). Doesn't leave much left after rent and utilities. Enough for me to enjoy life but no fucking way could I support a wife and a kid.

THis is the end game of fractional reserve banking. It will only continue.

See
Printing money from thin air degrades the value of our cash. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a fucking bluepilled cucked faggot.
