Bread makes you bloat and can give you lethargy/brainfog, if you have a gluten allergy, which far more people do than they are aware of.

Saged and reported for not politics.

How can you even tell if food has gluten in it? Who looks for that?

you're a loser who cant fuck attractive women so you do whatever you are tole

Sup Forums in a nutshell?

Any kind of wheat or wheat derivative.

Nearly all processed foods in America end up having gluten in them because they use wheat or flour as filler.

Idk what processed food means, but I eat bread nearly everyday it's not bad for you. Dumb liberals just don't have common sense and sit at home on the computer and watching super hero movies eating junk food all day

>tfw allergic to gluten
I can barely remember the last time I ate real food.

>I don't know what processed food means
>calls other people dumb
>a leaf

It's got very little to do with politics, though leftists do like to treat it the same as their 'organic' non-sense.

there's been some studies recently that basically discovered having a gluten allergy is extremely rare and that the vast majority of gluten avoiders aren't gluten sensitive.

essentially it's all in their little faggot heads, for the most part.

I searched the definition of processed food it says

"Processed food is the result of a massive industrial process to transport, transform, can, freeze, dehydrate, irradiate, package and market edible junk."

So basically canned food, frozen food, or packaged food? Does that mean if you buy a chicken from the grocery store instead of the butcher it's processed? When I was a kid the grocery store near me had a butcher counter but now they only sell packaged meats. They don't even have live fish or lobster anymore

Relatively many people (5% I think I read) have a mild allergy to gluten (which doesn't show up in standard allergy tests), so eating a gluten-free diet is actually beneficial for them. I think everyone should try eating no gluten for a week or a month or so, and see if their health improves.
Other than that (and "normal" gluten allergies of course), it's just retarded normies being retarded.

But when they do to a pizza parlor and just assume that they will be catered too, something totally irritating. The new allergy thing is a great way to feel like you have a little control over the world instead of dealing with the chaos.

technically shredded lettuce is a processed food.

it's a blanket term, for sure. but I guess the point is to get people to eat more whole foods, instead of prepackaged stuff, which often contains added salts/fats/whatever. not always, but many times, anyway.

>Bread makes you bloat and can give you lethargy/brainfog,
not true at all. it's fat that makes people 'bloat' (get fat) and have brain fog. I eat tons of starch, got no problems at all. Full of energy. I chomp down on loads of bread with every meal.

Yeah that's what I'm confused about, what if I shred cheese is that processed? There's a process involved in making it shredded and same if you chop up some lettuce for a salad you know?

yeah it's a retarded term.

what about canned beans with no salt added? Is that processed? they're fucking healthy for you so i guess they can't be. but wait, it's in a can! so it's bad!

People should just read the god damned labels that are government mandated to be on every thing in the store.

processed means the nutrition was damaged or removed somewhere between the harvesting of the food and the packaging of the food before it was sold at the store.

An example of nutrition being lost during the process is:

- bleached rice
- cooked and canned veggies
- filtered honey
- bread
- some cereals

Another problem is when they add toxins to the food:

- some preservatives
- GMO
- pesticides
- fertilizers
- fungicides
- food coloring
- allergens like glutens contained in wheat which isn't toxic to everyone mind you

Off the top of my head some of the odd things that contain gluten are mixed seasonings or anything that uses them, canned soups, dressings, some brands of gum, and strangest of all most brands of soy sauce

China use to make soy sauce from human hair:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_safety_incidents_in_China#Soy_sauce_made_from_human_hair

We'll I don't eat canned soup, that's nasty I don't use dressings I make my own that's common sense, I chew gum sometimes for work, and never eat soy sauce I'm not a Chinese why would I?
I guess I'm safe

I'm not a gluten free fag but I unwittingly bought the gluten free soy sauce one time and I really like it.

it still "thickens" up when you cook it into foods, just like the gluten stuff. think it's lower sodium though, so that's nice.

>bleached rice
no, they just take the shell off. they've been doing it in asia for hundreds of years. the shell has fat, and would cause the rice to rot

organophosphates

Rich, stay at home soccer moms that believe modern medicine gave their kids autism and thus only buy "natural" "non-GMO," "organic," "gluten-free" stuff at whole foods that costs 2x+ as much at best compared to normal groceries.

The same idiots that fall victim to alternative medicine, "healing crystals," and other health fad snake-oil schemes. The same people that trust in chiropractors passing themselves off as real MDs and giving out bad medical advice such as supplements that are "cure-alls" despite not being tested or studied scientifically.

This whole natural / non-GMO / gluten free fad is a multi-billion dollar business, with a shit load of dummies who read that gluten is bad and believe they have celiac (despite celiac being a very rare genetic condition) buying these products, mostly as I said above, dumb suburban housewives with nothing better to do but read stupid shit on their facebook echo chambers.

the shell also has all the fiber, tho it is not much anyway.

>eaten gluten
>eating carbs and sugar of any kind, making you fat
>not eating the superior ketogenic diet and transitioning your body from using carbs and sugar, causing energy spikes, to burning fats for energy, causing a steady rate of energy throughout the day

You guys are fucking stupid lmao

around son we call it bleached rice :P

but still you lose the hull and thus lose fiber a nutrition.

enjoy getting autism then

give me pizza or give me death!

I been trying paleo diet, and fasting. It is working well for me so far.

along with pesticides and flame retardants and god knows what else, organophosphates are used as herbicides to dry out white wheat so it can be harvested as fast as the automated combines can drive themselves, while the "Farmhand" sits in the airconditioned cab wanking to internet porn.
This leads to more allergies, immune problems, autism, and god knows what else.
RoundUp, glyphosate, organophosphates,
are poison.
Too much poison is the problem.
I've met

Because we've fucked up our food so badly somehow that we're giving people autoimmune diseases that are triggered by eating fucking bread, one of the earliest staples we have. Autoimmune diseases are on the rise across the board.

>Yeah that's what I'm confused about, what if I shred cheese is that processed?
No.
But if you buy pre-shredded cheese you are also getting stabilizers and preservatives added in to maintain freshness and retard the development of mold.

this is how you get room temperature containers of parmesan cheese. It's not all cheese in there.

Processed Food contains additives to keep the food shelf stable for extended periods, added colors for eye-appeal, added flavors for taste appeal, and often added fillers to reduce cost.

I work for one of the world's largest food processors, btw.

oh you little baby, gluten is only just step 1 the real enemy is the CORN JEW.

>2011
>Eating corn

shiggy diggy

>pre shredded cheese
I didn't know this was a thing

I fully believe that to be a result of Food Science from the '70's. and the glut of artificial colors, flavors, dubious preservatives and super-refined sugars, starches and oils.

Basically we cooked up some diabolical shit to make stuff "edible" after a year on the shelf, fed it to some rats. When they didn't immediately explode, we rubber-stamped it and started an entire generation of kids on an experimental diet program.

Then you have shit like Aspartame, which got rejected by the FDA for human consumption, but well-connected Donald Rumsfeld was head of the company, so Reagan pulled some strings.

They don't have this in the bag-milk aisle?

>ground beef
>stewed tomatoes
>canned mushrooms (rinsed)
>cumin, salt, pepper

Then I added (not pictured)
>canned corn (rinsed)
>organic brown rice

Is this healthy or am I poisoning myself?

I highly doubt 99% of people who have gluten allergies actually do. It used to be trendy to be vegan, now it's trendy to be "gluten-free". give it a few years.

why does most stuff now say
>partially produced with genetic engineering

Keep out the MSG and you are fine. Be wary of the salt content of the canned stuff before you start dashing real salt in there though.

The cheese isn't in the same aisle as the milk, the milk is in the back with the butter and the frozen foods, the cheese is on the other end where the deli counter and the olives are

i've lost all carbohidrated and i've lost 5 pounds in a month

>MSG meme
MSG is delicious and no more harmful than table salt
fucking retard, you're just parroting shit you heard

>canned mushrooms
Why though? They take like 2 minutes to cook and taste better

People tried not eating gluten for a while and realized they felt a lot more health without it. So there's a market for gluten free food now.

Tell me about it. I have celiac disease. Not sure why anyone would be gluten free unless they had to for medical reasons. Gluten free food is basically the shitty version of regular food.

Corn is the most genetically modified food, the next is soy

Both corn and soy are a byproduct or main ingredient in nearly all processed food

They had to label it (thank god) because jew companies wanted to lie to the goys about what they eat

i've been eating a more than 3000 kcal in fat and meat for a month and 'ive lost 5 pounds

Convenience. Don't have to cut them or anything and they last a lot longer. I try to eat a lot of fresh produce too but it goes bad quickly and you really have to be careful about planning your meals with it if you don't want to be wasteful.

People are slightly nervous about feeding their kids plant material that has been Frankenstein'd to the point where it can shrug off Roundup (a deadly defoilant).

This is the main reason for genetically modified crops, btw. It's not about Muh Yields, because it's shown that GMO's haven't increased yields at all, and the big AG nations produce so much that it drives prices down to ruinous levels anyway.

It was always about making crops resistant to deadly poisons, so farmers could spray the shit out the fields with them, and poison the fuck out of everything "not crop" (including the watershed).

I'd say it even goes further back than that. We started using chemical pesticides and herbicides, we started using antibiotics and hormones in our livestock, we started using trans fats etc even back in the 50's., but yeah the 70's is where it really really took off and so did our obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome rates.

We have fucked up FOOD, and as a result we've made ourselves sick.

That's why you get groceries more than once a week, I get vegetables for maybe 2-3 days, I go twice a week to do my groceries it's better this way you get things fresh.

this guy gets it, all these plebs still eating corn.

legit every product has some sort of corn in it, dextrose, maltodextrin, citric acid, ect. the names they go under are truly endless.

Why would you want proteinless bread?

If I consume gluten, I'll vomit within half an hour, and I'll have unholy diarrhea for 2 days.

>MSG is delicious and no more harmful than table salt
By all means, keep using the shit out of MSG, that gene pool won't clean itself.

>have celiac disease
>disqualified from military service
>disqualified from everything else
>can't eat at 90% of restaurants
>have to explain to everyone that I'm not some hipster faggot on a fad diet

Fair enough, fresh is always better though

There's obviously people with legitimate allergies but the people who were fine for 20+ years and suddenly can't eat bread are not telling the truth. At least most of them aren't.

When does paint and gas stop being marked for containing lead ?

Hippie scum, as usual.

I don't get why they think it's acceptable to make people think, by association, that coeliacs are just hippie weirdos instead of people with genuine medical conditions. Their intestines die pretty badly, it's not jus in their head. I'm just waiting for the days when the hippies start refusing sugar and inject fake insulin.

you know it occurs naturally in foods right?
you know it doesnt fucking kill people, right?
just shut up, jesus christ you're retarded
you might as well be saying "STOP USING SALT, IT CAUSES HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE"

Never been officially diagnosed, but I suffered with severe stomach cramping, heartburn, diarreah and lethargy for years, I just lived with it not knowing any better. Then when I gave up bread it all went away and my mind became clearer. I sometimes wonder how things would be different had I known sooner, maybe I'd gotten even better grades in school or been an athlete. Oh well. If I do cheat and eat a pizza or hamburger with the bun though I end up on the shitter 5 times a day and wanting to sleep for 12 hours.

>it didn't happen to me so it doesn't happen to anyone
I bet you smoke too

There are a lot of things that occur at trace levels in food that you don't really want to ingest at concentration levels. There are essential vitamins that can be harmful in large doses.

Commercial MSG is extracted from a cooked seaweed broth and then concentrated, and it's not good for your ticker. But I'm in no way trying to deprive you of your MSG, or restrict you from ingesting it.

I eat gluten free cause it makes me feel better and i have more energy. I enjoy the GF options.

Stupid people are prone to a herd mentality. How do you think trump got elected?

Isn't there a whole board for this? Imagine, a board where you could talk all you wanted about food and cooking while actually being relevant to the overall discussion of the board as a whole?

medium.com/incerto/the-most-intolerant-wins-the-dictatorship-of-the-small-minority-3f1f83ce4e15

Kys, gluten is the jew poison.

Hillary got more votes you retard.

>I like the placebo effect!

Not a placebo, gluten is actually shit for you, and as are carbs in general.

The keto diet is vastly superior to any carb based diet

I don't even have a gluten allergy, but adopting a gluten free diet cured me of acid reflux disease. My head is clearer, too. Don't knock it until you've tried it

>most wheat is sprayed and dried with copius amounts of Monsanto poison
>most people are responding to chemical poisoning
> hurr durr gluten is a hipster meme

literally marketing, retard

stop buying it and it'll go away

stop larping you fat retarded fuck

It's also a problem with the manipulated grain we eat. The types they use have extreme amounts of gluten.
Another possibility is that pesticides attach themselves to the gluten, or there is simply a reaction to the pesticides that is mirrored in the gluten.
Or perhaps most likely, the damage to our stomachs and intestines (leaky gut) caused by GMOs is being irritated by gluten. I think there are some studies on this.

"Add toxins to the food"
Can't let that one slide. Unless you've cared for and raised food yourself, your chances of toxic overload is much higher in "organic" food than non organic- aflo and mycotoxins.
Look at it from a grower perspective. And I'm talking about those that do it for a living.
>I get 4 times the money to plant seeds and do jack shit to keep the plants healthy.
>No extra time spent, and none of those "evil" fertilizers, pesticides, or GMOs.
>I can rape the soil, and poison the ground by overapplying organic animal waste to get rid of it easily.
>My plants look like shit-diseased, malnourished, and full of bugs.
>All of the bugs and growing fungus shorten the lifespan of the plant.
>Each plant attempts to fill seeds when blighted, pulling anything it finds into the soil and putting it there.
>I am also a blight upon my community, as my acreage is a haven for disease.
>I harvest a third of the yield as my neighbors.
>I make more money than they do.

kys (((grower)))

It is odd no one wants to investigate why Americans are so fat. Everyone blames our sedentary lifestyle but that's BS, no one in the 60s went to gyms except body builders, dad went to work in the office and sat all day, came home, collapsed in the recliner and smoke a lucky strike, had a beer and then ate a huge pot roast for dinner yet he remained a normal weight.

Humans do NOT need copious amounts of exercise to stay thin, the fact is enriched flour is the culprit of all health problems in American because it is in EVERYTHING from your hamburger helper to your salad dressings, cereals, bbq rubs, sauces, you name it.

This shit spikes your blood sugar as much as a donut and people are eating it with every meal. You might as well be eating little debbies for dinner.

If Jews are behind it then it could be huge and political

>How did gluten free become so popular

The moment Monsanto started using genetically engineered wheat for most wheat sold in the USA.

GMO Wheat has TRIPLE gluten content than the traditional seed we have used for thousands of years. This is obviously a problem for the digestive system, thus gluten free was born.

I went to college for GMOs. After graduating, decided I'd rather farm. Bought land. Didn't like the culture of gibs to survive.
Made my way somewhere else. Paid off the ground. Doing well now, no more government handouts, and not in agriculture.
I would never allow someone to rent my land to grow commercial organic crops.
I still have my guns. I am sure I will someday be found in a body bag after having killed myself with 8 shots to the back of my head. Thanks faggot.

Wrong grower, But I'll assume you thought it was me, bitch.

I try not to believe conspiracy theories, but I legitimately think something happened to our grain that made it bad for you.

Yeah. Excessive processing and herbicides

>make food
>put it next to identical food in the store
>write THEOBROMINE FREE on it
>everyone is worried that theobromine might be bad because otherwise why would you advertise not having it
>they buy your product instead of the competition because they know it doesn't have the deadly compound inside

There. I just made you rich.

Basically everyone got convinced that every sensitivity tied to lectin is due to gluten instead because ciliac disease was a big thing so gluten must be bad. In fact most people who think they're gluten sensitive are actually sensitive to lectin which is removed alongside the gluten in gluten free products.

Celiac disease and retards appropriating it.
Gluten makes your dick fly off
Go vegan even

But theobromine isn't bad?

Fuck all the fucking niggers who decided to fuck with wheat - it was a perfect food that our ancestors spent tens of thousands of years or more perfecting from a tiny little nigger grain into the best food source for humans ever created.

And then in the span of just a few decades boomerniggers completely RUINED IT by processing it poorly, mutating it, adding a bunch of chemicals to it, cooking it improperly, jesus fucking christ.
This shit pisses me off - what they did to wheat. Our staple food source has been fucked with, I can't even begin to make you guys realize how big of a deal this is, it's one of the main reasons western civilization is so fucked up right now. Staff of life has been turned into the staff of death.

People who talk about needing to be gluten free are basically the canary in the coal mines, making society realize that wheat has been throughout buttfucked no lube style.
If we ever get into positions of power, we have to work to fix wheat. Do those old seeds still exist somewhere? Japniggers would slit your throat and buttfuck you with your own coagulated blood if you ever fucked with their rice the way our wheat has been fucked with.

sad times.

...

O appreciation the drawing of me it is fairly accurate

If you are a dog

you've learned well, have an upvote

Brown rice is bad for you, the brown part of the rice (the husk) contains rancid oils and heavy metals, there's a reason that all asian cultures only eat white rice. Don't try to outsmart tens of thousands of years of culture, you can't.
