Given the current political times, what would be the best language to learn.
I was thinking either Italian or polish, both of those countries are options to move to if things go belly up in the US. I have family in Italy but Poland seems like a better country.

I recommend Japanese, you get access to enormous amount of interesting books you can't normally read.
And I'm not talking about manga or anything like that.

Amateur etymologist here, joke about migrants or legit? Arabic is one of the few languages I know next to nothing about outside of it having a classical dialect that's essentially only used in holy texts and is seen as like the Arabic equivalent of Latin by native speakers.

I used to work with a lot of polish people. Polish is hard as fuck to learn. It's not germanic, it's not a romance language. It's its own beast.
There's loads of weird cshk sounds that aren't in English
