>Frees you from dept based currency >Most profitable investing space. BTC went 4x this year. >Allows people everywhere to be their own bank. >International >Revolutionary technology
Mods this is politically related since BTC was created to free people from dept based currency.
Because crypto is not backed by force. US dollar is backed by a government with lots and lots and lots of guns. They can either force people to accept my dollar as legal tender for goods and services, or they can protect the value of the dollar in a global economy with lots of bombs in foreign lands.
crypto can't summon godzilla to defend it, so it's no good
Eli Lewis
Basically this. GOD DAMN IT FEELS GOOD TO BE AMERICAN I DON"T HAVE TO HIDE MY FLAG I OWN GUNS LOTS OF GUNS I CARRY A GUN OR TWO EVERY FUCKING DAY AND THAT IS MY LEGAL RIGHT HOW CAN NON AMERICAN KUCKS EVER EVEN COMPETE, THE WORST KUKS OUT THERE ARE THE r*ssian KIND TOO. THEY TRY SO HARD TO CATCH UP YET THEY"RE SOOOOOOO FAR AWAY LEEEEEEL
Jordan Young
I'm just waiting for the inevitable crash, get some for cheep and wait till value bumps back up
Ian Cooper
I want to, but I can't figure out how to do the whole wallet thingy and setup an account. Any good guides for a total retard that's only Tried mining a few times?
Henry Long
Bitcoin is a piece of shit and will never be the world currency. The outlook of crypto as a whole is better but I guarantee that no currently existing crypto will be worth shit in 10 years. Also we're due for a market collapse and alternative investments will suffer
Aiden Cruz
Just download Electrum for your wallet and make a Coinbase account.
Boom. There. You're now investing in magical internet money.
James Martin
it's a meme, the coins are valuated by the stock market, there's literally no point, people aren't just going to trade in bitcoins if the markets crash because the markets decide if they're worth anything to begin with
Nathan Foster
...
Matthew Diaz
If cryptocurrency is the future I doubt BTC v1.0 is going to be the implementation. But until then it will be hypecoin after shitcoin.
Andrew Thompson
fuck off Aquafresh CIA
Colton Walker
What is there to keep it's value? Nothing, and the influx of dozens of other crypto currencies prove it. They're less valuable than tech stocks.
Oliver Gomez
lol getting zoged by kikebase, no thank you
download the best crypto wallet to your phone, which is schildbach's, then got to your nearest bitcoin ATM and use cash to buy coins

Buy drugs and pseudo-legal giftcards with Bitcoin!
Anthony Rogers
Been trading it for years faggot.
Carson Flores
Bitcoin! Transactions take 20 minutes or longer!
Lincoln Ward
Cringe thread?
Ethan Collins
Or people can say fuck you and destroy their goods instead of trading it for paper that has an intrinsic value akin to wipe my ass with.
Kayden Lewis
Im waiting for a crash to get in
Brandon Rodriguez
Because i missed the ship and any money i make now is really just a dividend of the money im generating (read gettin cucked) for some autismo on the internet.
Also if it ever actually gets to the point people always say it will like 'replacing fiat' or whatever the fuck America is going to roll over anyone that doesn't outlaw it, so whatever.
Mason Powell
I've had them take 3 days, fuck buttcoin.
Xavier Butler
>bro it's gonna be the new way we buy and sell things Literally who uses crypto as a currency other than human traffickers?
Hudson Johnson
Because in 2012 I had money but didnt know about it. Now in 2017 I know about it and have no money. Also now I'm not a materialistic faggot obsessed with needless financial gain. i dont have to have money to feel good about myself unlike the sleazy sickos over on /biz/
Kayden Carter
Drug dealers, degenerates (Sup Forums) and other criminals.
Ryder Sanchez
You can still join the train to financial independence.
Nathaniel Johnson
Apparently. Saying lots and lots and lots of guns makes my fellow American jizz himself it seems.
Seriously though, Blockchain technology is fascinating, and crypto replacing fiat would be a wonderful thing. But there's just no way I see it getting it backed by force.
Josiah Gray
Fuck off kike. the only reason why they exist is for uses of terrorism, drug dealing and cp. THATS RIGHT PEDOS TRADE THEM FOR CHILD PORN. WHY ARE YOU A PEDO? KILL YOURSELF. EXACTLY WHY THEY WANT PRIVACY TOO.
Blake Reyes
Why in the world would anyone do that in an economic sense?
You see, that paper money gets enFORCED as a viable method of payment. There are actual laws that require it to be accepted as payment.
Crypto has the vulnerability of being criminalized.
Asher Cruz
>muh digital tulips
Austin Williams
Really activates my almonds
Thomas Howard
These people do not get it.
The risk/reward ratio is insane. Even if crypto were to fail (highly unlikely) its still the opportunity of a life time.
People like to tell themselves: >I missed the train >It will crash anyway >It has no real value >Drug money
Only to cope with themselves not buying in.
Those who see the potential and have a working brain will profit from this. Those who do not will stay stagnant.
Logan Kelly
because of all the people arrested for exchanging and distributing crypto "illegally"
Adrian Morgan
>10 million
literally a shoah
when did you buy in, if that is actually you
Cameron Torres
I DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING MONEY
Landon Torres
crypto shilling is limited to /biz/ please
I assume on Sup Forums crypto discussion actually has to do with the feasibility of adopting crypto as a currency
Cooper Sullivan
it's literally a ponzi scheme except you can trade your shares in it
Nicholas Bell
Why no litecoin?
Christian Scott
because i did not recognize its potential when i had the chance to get hundreds of bitcoins for literally nothing
so now out of misguided pride and respect for myself i stay away from it
Carson Sanders
Correct Would you rather have your currency be inflated? Would you rather own a gold backed currency or dollars?(for argument sake not saying btc is gold)
It has been around 8 years now. Still growing exponentially. I would say its more a asset then a currency atm. But that doesnt mean no one is using it as a payment. I recently bought 3 grand worth of gold with it. All legal. So you could say its already adopted as a valid currency/payment method.
I think adoption will accelerate as infrastructure improves.
I respect your honesty.
Peter Thiel on btc: “PayPal had these goals of creating a new currency. We failed at that, and we just created a new payment system. I think Bitcoin has succeeded on the level of a new currency, but the payment system is somewhat lacking. It’s very hard to use, and that’s the big challenge on the Bitcoin side.”
“As long as you have to have dollars to pay your taxes, if you don’t have dollars to pay your taxes, people with guns will come after you and lock you up, or do something bad to you. You can use Bitcoin to pay your taxes. You still have to convert Bitcoins into dollars to pay taxes. So on that level, it doesn’t threaten the dollar as a reserve currency, which is ultimately backed by military/law enforcement power.”
I got in just after the crash about 4 years ago when it was invested only $300 4 yeas ago >sold $3000 worth already >still have $10 000 worth of coins left
im now waiting for a crash, checking every 12h, when it drops >30% im selling everything.
its getting prety popular here now it seems. my grandmother called me and asked if I know that this 'bitcoins' are, explained it to her and she gave me $1000 to buy some for her. already doubled since then so im going to give her back her original investment and then she cant loose anything even when it crashes.
Charles Ortiz
Its not real money
You can't turn it into real money without going to prison.

Mason Brown

Of course you can and I have many times. You might be taxed because you are a burger. Simply pay the tax.

btc is going to crash like nothing has ever crashed before. so hard there won't be anything left. it will be a crash of historic proportions.

dont have enough money to invest further. i invested 100 dollars in ethereum. its now 250 dollars. im just waiting till it hits 300 dollars so i can sell and probably buy bitcoin. ethereum sucks

Be sure to check out Bitcoin Cash. It more closely follows Satoshi's vision of a distributed P2P ledger. Regular Bitcoin fees rn are like $3+ per transaction.

I also dont care about materialistic things too much. What I do care about is freedom. And money is in a way freedom
It might crash down to 3k maybe even 2,5k but I dont see it getting any lower then that. Guess we will see what happens.
Landon Lee
>half the world such delusion. you're lucky if 00.0025% of the world ever touched crypto, and they certainly aren't walking around buying things on the regular with it. Crypto is still small, small time.
You don't invade crypto. You just don't allow anybody to trade crypto.
Ethan Price
I dont know what it is
Nolan Green
this makes my mouth water. this means the cryptoboom HAS YET TO HAPPEN. you either ride with it or you get left behind with your worthless paper
Lincoln Collins
It's not investment. It's speculation. Bitcoin has no long term future. No one actually wants to own Bitcoins. They just buy them because they think they're smart enough to get out before it all collapses.
Angel Turner
I think this was all of us. I had 10k in 2012. Now I'm just happy to keep a roof over my family's head. No, I'm not a rich sleazy kike or some brainy college grad that made a huge fortune. but I have a family that loves each one another.
Jordan Ross
Powers that be won't give up their printable fiat. The powers that be are the ones with all the guns. Ride the ponzi scheme at the top if you can and make your money, but don't expect crypto to actually take over currency.
Jackson Price
says increasingly nervous man for the 52nd time
James Martin
I assume you mean "debt"? What does debt have to do with currency. You can have debt in bitcoin. You can even have debt without any sort of money.
Jack Howard
With a mnemonic privat key your wealth are stored in your mind. An army can take your land, bank accounts and gold, but never your mind.
Jeremiah Clark
>its speculation Yes of course, people think it has potential
>No one wants to own Bitcoins kek, just because you dont doesnt mean no one wants it. Who's buying crypto then? Only people who want to see profit? This still means people think there is a profit to be made.
>power that be won't let crypto succeed. They cant stop it (decentralized) They can try to regulate it or make it difficult, like in US. They might even ban it like in Venezuela, where people still buy it on black markets to escape their hyper-inflated currency.
Thing is if a country actually bans crypto as a whole. They will get left behind and other countries will outperform them. Blockchain technology has insane potential.
Bankers are in a tough spot. They know crypto is good, but they cant endorse it since then they would validate it and remove power from fiat currency's.
You do not understand what dept means. Research inflation.
Caleb Wilson
We have ways of getting your mind too sweetie.

That proves not worth it anymore.
Only if you got in years ago can you get rich.
Even if it will reach 10x more, the huge risk of losing it all is not worth holding any more than a grand or so, and stand to make only 10g at best which is not life changing.
Jason Foster
>No don't you see, THIS bubble is different from all the other bubbles. THIS bubble will never burst!

>You do not understand what dept means. Yes, I've said so much. So you're saying you don't mean "debt"? I can't find anything about "dept" except as an abbreviation of department.
Samuel Turner
I do not need to nor am I interested in hearing the merits of bitcoin to make an informed decision on whether to buy bitcoin. the only thing that matters is why you would possibly be shilling it. 1. you are trying to dump it for standard currency, and need buyers. 2. you just genuinely want everyone else to somehow generate money without effort with no negative effects, and you typed up a sales pitch out of pure altruism. now, as far as the entire history of economics and business goes, what seems more likely?
Leo Nguyen
>You just don't allow anybody to trade crypto. How? The only way to do that is some China firewall type shit. Which is unlikely to ever happen.

The problem I see is this Either the recent surge is because the upcoming recession will mean more people use Bitcoin/crypto and this will push it into mainstream use
Or
There is another crypto crash to come which will be the upcoming recession and crpto's recent surge was down to a lag in the time it took for stocks to rise and crypto to follow this recent stock market rise.
The biggest problem with BTC and crypto currently is: >Adoption of use >Transferrability
Crypto will be useful. Will it go the moon? i don't know. But another crash in this nascent and very BASED tech. is inevitable.

If Sup Forums actually took the time to immerse themselves in the subject matter they would be all over this because it basically kills (((them))). Their loss, I'm happy some have the brains to see what type of implications Bitcoin has for the world.
The future is bright.

No one is using BTC as a currency outside of the black market. No business is pricing it's goods and services in bitcoin. The only way you can use it to buy things is to sell it for dollars and send the dollars - usually through Bitpay. That doesn't mean you're buying things with bitcoin. Just like if you have a debit card linked to your stock portfolio that liqudates part of it when you want buy something. Doesn't mean you're using your stocks as currency.
Jonathan Campbell
There lies the problem. If he "takes some out in case of crash" where the hell is he gonna put it. Gold? Why not just start there?
William Gray
You can buy games and computer parts on steam/newegg, I think, but it still means jack shit. No one actually cares about practical applications of BTC. It's pure speculation on tulips.
Nicholas Thompson
Didn't the USA govt officially recognize Bitcoin as a legitimate currency tho?
Angel Walker
Every single business that allows you to buy things with BTC is using Bitpay or something similar. Meaning that it's not being used as currency. It's an asset that is easy to liquidate. That's not currency.
Christian Reed

Tulip mania 2.0.
Cryptocurrency is certainly valuable. But it's being massively overvalued by useful idiots like you who think everyone can get rich off of it.
