Did you consider that due to the information density of English, it's not a coincidence?

As you can see, there is not even a correlation between information rate and the proportion of Europeans speaking or thinking that those languages are useful, at least between English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese

Maybe another way to see which one is most useful would be to look which ones are teach in school

English speakers in Spain 22%, had little trouble talking to people and asking directions. Italy 34% no trouble whatsoever being understood. France 39% and every one of the lying fuckers pretended they couldn't understand a word of English.
