Breaking: South Korea has requested the deployment of the USS Ronald Reagan to the Korean Peninsula

South Korea has requested the deployment of the USS Ronald Reagan to the Korean Peninsula

>In response to North Korea's sixth nuclear test provocation, the Korean government ordered Ronald Reagan (CVN-76, 102,000 tons), a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, to deploy to the region closest to North Korea in the history of the deployment of US nuclear carriers on the Korean peninsula. It was reported to have requested.

>According to a government source on June 5, Jung Kyung-Doo, the chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has met with Commander Scott Swift, the US Pacific Fleet on this day, and proposed to deploy Reagan Ham in Yokosuka base near Japan. It seems that it is believed that Reagan Ham, which was deployed in Busan or the East Sea last year, should be put into the northern limit line (NLL) and the northernmost part of the East Sea adjacent to the North, Reagan Ham has a deck size of 18,000 square meters with three soccer fields, and it can be loaded with 80 military aircraft such as the F-18 Super Horet fighter, which is called a floating military base.

>The commander, Swift, has been told by Chung that he is ready to dispatch his commander, including Defense Secretary James Mathis and US Secretary of State Harry Harris. In an interview with the media, Swift said, "The option of joint training of two nuclear carriers on the peninsula is an option." In response, Song Hyung-moo, Defense Minister, was reported to have specifically checked the defense posture of the ROK-US alliance, including talks with Mathis later this afternoon and plans to deploy core strategic assets such as Reagan. In particular, Mathis has reportedly shared his views on the "complete annihilation" operation aimed at Kim Jong Eun shortly after the sixth nuclear test.

Bump

Nuke the carrier fleet Kim

...

shouldn't they have more than two agis cruisers and two ballistic subs there. our so I heard. I mean we got tons of boats and not many more pressing places to be. how many carriers there?

>the Korean government ordered Ronald Reagan
kys
Korea can't "order" American navy to do anything.

Your future is bright, nuclear blind flash bright.skin melts and runs off your face like liquid
Enjoy the movie

Carrier will never make it to Korea. It will run aground in Philippines.

>more than 2 subs
Those 2 subs have enough nukes to end the world.

our did they leave, for where?

>inb4 bumpski with commercial freighter

what is the rest of the navy doing trolling the russians?

>donga
you have my attention

They need to stop pussyfooting and just get it started

>russian
>navy
nice meme there

>how many carriers there?
I'm not sure how many carriers there are near the Korean peninsula, but we have 20 carriers in service. We could spare one or two extra. In any case, every carrier should be escorted by a cruiser, at least two destroyers and/or frigates, and may also be escorted by submarines, logistics ships, and supply ships. I'm pretty sure at least one ship in any given carrier strike group will carry Aegis.

Good time to roll the dice ,
>Russia or china use subs to nuke US carrier fleets
Blame North Korea
Balance of power swings .
Or be North Korea nuke carrier fleets and blame Russia/china

>not hit by a merchant ship

This.
How is this not obvious?

Anyone else see this? Looks like a meteor, but not sure. youtube.com/watch?v=vqRSVNmXEw4

I just copied and pasted the translation from the South Korean news site.

Doubt it. DDG escorts will shoot any BM down.

A sub with a nuke doing a Muslim-maneuver could work, though.

It is a meteor you inbred moron.

Theres even color footage of it.

US can tell where a nuke comes from, user. They have EW satellites to detect launch locations, in addition to radar picking them up and then knowing where they came from due to that.

Like you order a big Mac from Maccas. They ordered the Ronahld Raygun from the potus

It's a sub, how you going to tell if it was Russian / Chinese or nk sub that toke out a carrier group.

...

inb4 it gets taken out by a small filipino trading ship.

>merchant ship

Please come defend us, we offer our women as payment.

The Koreans didn't "order" us to a damn thing.

ahh comfort women

wont matter USA would take emm both out just for shitz and giggles

Yes put it within range of of surface to ship missiles. It's a trap. SK and NK are still in cahoots and I know it.

>the Korean government ordered
that's not how it works

...

Fuck, I said this same thing. My bad

Fucking space jews

holy fuck retard read

While deploying assets they didn't happen to mention if the ROK would stand on seven hills did they?

...

Why do koreans all have potato faces?

All Kim needs to do is send four agents to lube the hallway, steal the HoS ID, yakety sax into bridge and set up proximity nitroglycerin grenades before telelporting back to pyogyang after setting the nuke on the Ronalad Reagan.

The United States of Nanotrasen couldn't stand a chance!

subs have unique noise signatures as well as magnetronic

they ordered it from CINCPACFLT by the look of it.

>4'10
that curb

There are many layers of defence on a ship like that. Nothing to worry about. Cooler heads will prevail. Putin could use this as way of getting the US embroiled in some shit, but he is the voice of reason the world needs right now. No one hired Trump to get our men killed in some Korean rice field. We already went up against them, and it was a tie. If Un wants to do the world a favor, he'd give the nukes to Iran so they can blow up Israel and remove that boil from the earth.

Id be almost certain that all the data NK has from their nuke and missle tests, Iran has.

>the Korean government ordered Ronald Reagan

I'm confused

>over 1000 below-poverty-income-earning poor bastard paintchippers have to leave their homes and go deploy because Kim won't quit fuckin off.
we should fuck him up t.b.h.

US navy on the move? With their recent track record every merchant ship within a 3000 mile radius is now on suicide watch.

One step closer to war.

>Muslim-maneuver

Because they are the Irish of the Asian world.

Happening when?

Mate, Putin wants to try and "tame" North Korea and there's talk of China using its leverage to stop NK. Why would they stop the US when they need to make Kim chill out a sec?

Is not stationing the carrier in a SK port going to expose the ship to a direct hit from NK ?

>Muslim-maneuver

Theres at least 4 boomers parked off the coasts of NK, and that is just American. When I was stationed there, we had enough listening buoys in the water surrounding their ports, coasts, and waters that you could walk across them.

If the war does go hot, literally nothing will leave North Korean ports without us knowing.

From a Naval element standpoint, they have zero chance of doing anything really, especially if the South Koreans go for an aggressive assault on their port facilities. Both Chongjin and Nampo would turn into smoking ruins within minutes kek.

Fuck that. South Koreans hate us just as much as the North. I'm sick of my tax dollars going to those people. I wish this country would become isolationist again and put our defense budget into an anti-nuke system.

i bet south korea wants all kind of shit

Carriers don't port in SK

an anti nuke system that will protect places like japan?

>carrier
>getting nuked
faggots still believe this nonsense?

...

Nope, just US. Our taxes, our tech; they protect just US. That's how you MAGA.

>anti nuke system

closing your eyes and screaming lalalalala?

Debatable. Older Korean immigrants love the US. My wife's dad loves us solely based on doowop music, muscle cars, and the Korean war.

no can do senpai, my tax dollars will fight and die for the land of the rising anime titties

50 years to prepare and the southchinks still can't do anything by themselves. baka

those aren't Koreans, those are Americans

Some people in the world still remember the sacrifices AMericans made in their behalf.

>closing your eyes and screaming lalalalala?
It works for mohammed

>two ballistic subs
Each one carries enough fire power to turn the entire peninsula into burning ash. Not to mention any submarine carying trident II's anywhere but the Atlantic can target NK

>South Korea orders around the US NAVY like they're an on demand service.
The absolute state of our cucked government. SK's president would be immediately getting a mouthful from me over the phone if I was Trump and I would not be deploying SHIT to their irrelevant peninsula. Nobody has the right to order us around, why do we even protect these spoiled people, do we get any benefit out of it?

because we have a treaty with them lol

cmon dude read a book or something holy shit

So what? SK can't do shit to us, it's a tiny little piece of who-give-a-fuck on the other side of the world. Nothing would happen aside from Americans not wasting money on people in a country they probably couldn't even point to on a map.

Satellite is an anagram of 'latest lie.' The space program is fake as fuck. Nukes are also fake.

>So what?

So it's legally binding retard, it was ratified by congress, look up what a treaty is.

Just because you want to handwave it doesn't mean it doesn't exist lel.

Go read about our relationship with South Korea and the geopolitics of the region if you're so curious why America puts so many resources there.

>legally binding
International law is a made up thing that only applies to countries that don't have enough firepower to keep their sovereignty from being molested. We can pull out if we want to and they'll have to deal.

Keep believing that kek, going back on a legal treaty with your ally during the even the Korean war goes hot would be not only extremely disastrous for American foreign policy but would jeopardize our assets in the region due to insufficient support they'd require as they'd be actively targeted.

You can handwave this shit all you want, but this is the reality of the situation, just because it bothers you doesn't mean this isn't how things are.

Go read about the geopolitical background of the region and our relationship with South Korea if you're this interested in why we are there and why we support them.

Seeing as you are ignoring the reality of this argument this will be my last response to you.

No need for a missile, a nuke tipped torpedo will ruin a carrier group easily.

Oh no, not our (((foreign policy!))) The only thing our foreign policy has ever accomplished has been the lining of the elites' pockets at the expense of Americans and the gradual destruction of culture with every nation we have ever established international relations with. Tear it all down and the world might have a chance of eventually recovering from the materialist grey goop culture of globalist materialism that we facilitated the proliferation of.

The US is still a part of the korean war which never actually officially ended, there is just a ceasefire treaty. If the war picked back up again the US would have to return.

Also it serves as early defense measures for the US too if you have them in front of the DPRK.

The US needs to deploy Dennis Rodman.
He's our best chance of avoiding WW3

Keep drinking your cheap beer ya dumb fuck

Kek, we have no obligation to do shit even if there is still technically a war. We told South Vietnam to pound sand and nothing happened to us. Look at how South Koreans behave, they have become decadent under the umbrella of the American taxpayer. Such spoiled vassals undeserving of our assistance. Either a nation state has the firepower to protect what it believes it has the right to and requires no assistance or it doesn't and exists as an affront to the natural order of human power dynamics, I think it's high time South Korea figure out for themselves whether they are a real nation or merely a facade that crumples the second it has to fend for itself.

Lel good joke

Are you suggesting an end to Pax Americana? You want the US to be a regional power like Russia instead of a superpower? You want to voluntarily give up our entire ascension as the world's most important military and political power?

What do you think happens with the power vacuum? Or do you think if the US returned to pre-Monroe Doctrine isolationism that the rest of the world will just be happy nation-states getting along?

vietnam and south korea aren't even compatible to the same thing.

The US is very close with South Korea, even before all this recent shit.

>Are you suggesting an end to Pax Americana?
Stop swallowing the propaganda of the military industrial complex
>You want the US to be a regional power like Russia instead of a superpower?
Cool Russia scaremongering senpai. Reeling back hundreds of billions in military spending every year and actually respecting the sovereignty of other countries is totally going to make America comparable to an irrelevant kleptocracy that crawled out of the smouldering remains of a communist shithole.
>You want to voluntarily give up our entire ascension as the world's most important military and political power?
Considering this doesn't seem to benefit anyone but the snakes in the highest circles of power, yes.
>What do you think happens with the power vacuum? Or do you think if the US returned to pre-Monroe Doctrine isolationism that the rest of the world will just be happy nation-states getting along?
Why should Americans care? International squabbles are unlikely to spill over into our country, given our geography. War between the Koreas is about as relevant to me as the Syrian civil war.

>The US is very close with South Korea
Close? Maybe if by 'close' you mean the governments are both interested in maintaining the status quo of globalist cronyism. Americans - the part of this equation that should really matter - aren't close with South Korea at all. If you go outside and ask the first 10 Americans you see what they like about South Korea and/or it's people in all likelihood they wouldn't be able to tell you a single thing about them. The American people by and large have no interest in the various countries we are supposedly "close with" and if you polled them they'd probably agree that the money being spent for their protection is a waste.

Are you a communist sympathizer by any chance?

>mfw we get a radioactive 51st state.

Guess the US is planning to send Ronald Reagan regardless of SK's request.
Field Carrier Landing Practice had begun on 1.Sep and ended on 5.
Normally, she leaves Yokoska port within 2weeks from the day FCLP starts.
It won't be long before she leaves.

And the US would just stop and surrender as they only have one carrier with no missile defense system.

Fucking Never-Nukes

Reagansmash.mov

>Learn how to get 200 million Americans to cry for blood using this one easy step.
If Kim were to manage do that, he would kill at least ~10000 servicemen with the act, not even accounting the monetary damage for the destruction of a carrier and probably some of its battlegroup too. It'd be Pearl Harbor five times over, and there would probably be footage of the event for the media to put on loop for the next year. I wouldnt be wholly unsurprised if we actually glass large sections of NK is response to something like that and told the Chinks to stand aside or we'd melt them too.

Chinks and Norks are I'm pretty sure the people on earth American's would have the least trouble nuking, in a moral sense. We have nothing in common at all with anyone north of the DMZ, their own cultures treat them like ants serving the hive.

While the US commander has overall authority over both the US and ROK forces IN WARTIME - in peacetime, there is a Joint Command structure, and so the Korean government is actually able to command US forces (with the co-operation of the US, obviously)
