Tap water is widely inconsistent across the US. You have places where it will literally kill you (Flint, Michigan), make you violently ill (some of the southern areas), or it's mysteriously, perfectly fine. During storms like this, tap water becomes contaminated by sewage backup, due to everything flooding due to excess water. At that point it will kill/harm you no matter how good it usually is.
