I have limited personal interaction with the NHS but last night for the sixth time in the space of two years or so have heard the narrative:

Has anybody else seen similar things from the NHS? I can't help but think people are dying disproportionately in the UK that would be saved in better countries.

I've had two older relatives die suddenly in NHS care, one who had a heart issue that they couldn't diagnose and another who caught pneumonia from the hospital they were in.
That's fucking terrifying. Especially with the numbers of NHS staff that are immigrants. I saw staff being generally rude and incompetent but I have naive respect for health professionals that I didn't make as much of it. This is so fucking dangerous.

I don't want to give myself away but I will say this: the safest hospital in the UK is the one in Ulster solely for the fact that nurses there are scared to abuse the patients. Everywhere else the patients are scared of the nurses to a much larger extent..
Don't bother going to the NHS for mental health. They can't diagnose you, they just give you some pills that will make you feel worse. Then you come back to say these pills don't work then they give you some others that don't work, then another, then another, then another.

they just print out leaflets or bits of paper, i went once and my regular GP wasn't there, so I saw this Indian, he just searched google and printed out some information and that was it, may as well have dressed my dog up in a nurse outfit, erect a tent in the garden with a laptop and setup my own GP office.
I have had anxiety for a while, eventually got the courage to go to the doctors, explain I have anxiety, all they do is print out a leaflet to this anxiety support group and tell me to phone them and speak to them.

Both my parents have asthma and when I started exhibiting respiratory problems they refused to diagnose it as asthma for about two years. They just kept giving antibiotics, saying it was a chest infection, or claiming there isn't a problem.

Considering I could've easily died from complete lack of NHS care when I was in hospital last time, I'm not surprised in the least.
I was losing a lot of blood but because of the location and method (I had gastroenteritis), nobody took me seriously on any level at all once I'd stepped out of the ambulance and into the hospital itself.
I LITERALLY passed out in one of the halls and had OTHER PATIENTS alert NHS staff, who proceeded to do nothing because as I came to, they asked if I was okay and I murmured 'yeah, sure' because I was out of it.
After that, I was told to go from one end of the hospital to the other, without any escort or help to even find the right fucking room, only to be told that no, I would have to go back to where I fucking came from because the first lot didn't have a clue and the room I needed was actually right next to them.
On the way back, I passed out again and my fucking mother came and found me without me having told her where I was other than in hospital.
She literally searched the whole place and was the first fucker to give a damn outside of the couple that asked nurses to help.
Even better? I asked for water, and got told that someone would get some for me. Three hours later I woke up to be told that I had to get out of the hospital because they were afraid that I was contagious. My mother came back (she'd gone back to work after I was given a room) and even by that point, I still hadn't been given any water.
She was the one who had to literally scream in someone's face to get me some fucking water because she realised that without it, I'd end up dying from shock.

Wow... I live in a midlands city at the moment. GPs are horrific and have only been to A&E once which was a nightmare. They said they won't give it out to me until I'm 18 (I was 14) even though there isn't an age restriction in the meds I needed.
I later learned from my sister in law who is a doctor that north Ayrshire and Arran have one of the most disgusting rates of terrible care when it comes to mental health.
I got my pills eventually, and my life has turned for the better. But speaking as a female, who explained to a male doctor everything that had happened to me, including the GP who is also my family's doctor, he still didn't believe me and sent me away without meds but he gave me a fucking book about artists and mood swings kek

Its true, its very shit. My dad had to go there at night last year because he had pneumonia and he had to sit uncomfortably (literally almost falling out of consciousness at times) while they made him wait till the morning because no doctors there at the time were qualified to examine him.
Imagine if it had been a worse state or whatever and you get told to sit there and try not to die because our only qualified doctors are at home jacking off or sleeping.

I trust the NHS about as much as I trust our government. I've spent more time in NHS hospitals for various reasons than I care to describe and I know from personal experience that they are awful.
These days I tend to take my chances and I'd only choose to go to an NHS hospital again if I was actually dying and had no other choice.
