Moving to texas to get away from my ((employers))

I work for an extremely wealthy and greedy ((family)). They have underpaid me, they took away our benefits, and the place overall sucks and has a high turnover rate because nobody is happy there. I am thinking of moving to Texas, but have never done something massive. How is Texas, and have any other anons made a relocation plunge? It will feel so good giving them a big fuck you as they actually need me for the company. I am ready to have more shekels thrown at me but I do not want/care anymore about them and their company. How is texas Sup Forums? Any tips?

El Paso fag here.
Pros
>Everything is pretty much cheap
>Good local food
>Catholics control the city
>Desert land to go shooting in
>If you make more then 29k you are pretty much set here
>State, National, and Geo politics pretty much have no relevance here
>City is growing
Cons:
>Jobs are hard to come by
>Mexicans
>Its a poor city
>Education is shit if you put your kids in public
>One main highway that is fucked most of the time
>City is spread out due to being cut in half by a mountain.

The rest of the state and politics is pretty neat though as its a right to work state. You are going to have to make sure you can get a job here.

have a VERY comny engineering job coming through desu!

>Engineering
Where? Can't find one for shit in this state.

>Wants to escape ((them))

Right now may not be the time to be one.

It's cheap but you best enjoy the heat. I fucking hate the heat. Yeah there's AC everywhere but fucking hell does the heat suck. Made me move out of Texas for awhile. Then Katrina niggers came and overran Houston. Wonder where they'll go post Harvey... anyways I would suggest moving to a smaller town out in the hill country, it's bit cooler... also fewer niggers/wetbacks (unless they're picking fruit or some shit) and cheaper than city life. I dunno, I worry Texas will go blue with all the faggots from Cali/NY that flooded in. True white TEXANS that have been there their whole lives are some of the best people. When I was still in school I was taught higher level math from one of the dumbest sounding hicks ever but the dude was a legit math whiz and could redneck with the best of them. I always consider myself a Texan first and an American second...or sometimes not at all.

Austin!
>fun, if you can afford it (can you?)
>raNduM xD
>pretty decent for lgbt rights actually
>A bunch of nice food
>It's the capital (capital building is pretty cool)
>We get some really fucking comfy storms

Ft Worth here. Avoid coming near here. The darkness is moving in from the east, and I fear the Katrina/Harvey rats are going to make their way here. Plus CA just moved in and destroyed local housing market.

Yes! When I was in high school I had a class with this one redneck and he was super fit and cute and he was always bragging about shit and talking about trucks and republican shit and he was so happy when hugo chavez died and he's what I imagine when I hear the chad memes and the thought of him just makes my heart skip and because of him I will forever love Texas because he was so passionate about it and probably why I think this nazi stuff is cute in general.

>pretty decent for lgbt rights actually
get the fuck outta my state you cunt.

>How is Texas
Brown. Really really brown.

>South and west
All spic, like over 50% and rising.
>East
1/3rd black, 1/3rd Hispanic.
>North
Basically Oklahoma. Lubbock and Amarillo are browning by the day.
>Austin
Filthy California stuck in the middle of the state. Bunch of browns, hobos, SJW college kids, and literal faggots.

There's no "good" part of Texas left. The only nice places are tiny remote towns that have a single walmart and dial up internet and functional humans under the age of 65 can't live in such places.

oil dynasties in the permian basin unironically worship the jews (not stating the jew on a stick me i mean they actually worship the jewish people)
and they will treat you like shit for maximum sheckles
t.oil jew in permian basin

Dallas here

Pros
>Good food
>Good beer
>Good defense laws
>Lots of jobs if you work in STEM
>Good schools
>Cities in the DFW area are growing stupid fast
>Close to OK, LA, etc. if you wanna get out

Cons
>Blue city
>No public land for shooting
>Full of niggers and spics
>Lots of fags in uptown
>Wages are shit
>House prices are ballooning

Depends on where you love in Texas, there are areas that are distinctly different from one another.

meh, sounds like the times are changing as I loved visiting Dallas as a kid. Cannot be worst than NJ in terms of turning blue

And also if you bring trouble, we will fix that.

Economically, Texas is an ideal state to settle, due to the abundance of land and no state income tax. However, Texas is no longer majority white, with a sizable and growing hispanic population. In addition, Texas may be shifting from a red state to a blue state.

>How is Texas, and have any other anons made a relocation plunge?
Yep, I came to Texas a few years ago with only a few thousand dollars, no job, and no connections. I've job hopped, been laid off, and then promoted up to having my own office, being able to buy a house, and able to afford international vacations.

Dallas-Fort Worth is red hot at the moment and I'd encourage you to make the move if you're looking for something better. Feel free to AMA about taking the plunge.

Great to hear as that's the area I'm looking into. How are the people? Traffic? Fun things to do?

>Hispanic

Please call the brown mutts mestizo, don't pin their breeding on criollos and iberians

have a good day

hispanic origin is a meme

brown people should go in "Injun"

Traffic is bad during the rush hours. I actually live about 60 miles from Dallas and make the commute when I'm working from my office, which is only about 70% of the time.

Living 60 miles from Dallas might sound crazy until you understand that the time driving around within the metroplex is exactly the same as making the commute IF your job lets you start at 7:00 am or earlier.

Fun things to do? You need to provide more info about your likes. The metroplex has a lot to do, but I honestly only go there to work. I live pretty far away and spend my time in my community or at the lake.

Northwest Fort Worth reporting in. Fucking beautiful here. Mexicans are creeping in, but rising housing prices keep em pretty confined to easily avoidable areas.

Outskirts of Fort Worth here. I love it so much.

don't get a job in the city. The commute is a nightmare. Try and work somewhere in flowermound or grapevine if possible. I work from home. It's super comfy. Nice people, safe communities (cept Dallas) and beautiful countryside.

Also many very active and thriving church communities.

this is EXACTLY where im about to go. How is grapevine lake? And lake lewisville? I feel like I will be kayaking all day!

I work in roughly those areas and it is a very nice part of town. Being near the Dallas North and Sam Rayburn toll roads helps with travel times to other parts of the metroplex. Be sure to visit Hard 8 BBQ when you're in that part of town.

Move to Austin, never look back

The lake is surrounded by quite residential neighborhoods and nature reserves. Well looked after. Sometimes you get annoying trust fund kids being dicks with their jet skiis, but if you go when it's cooler and the leaves are changing it's absolutely beautiful.

Just moved from central west FL to North East TX. Thank Jehovah.

oh yah. you pretty much have to take the toll roads Dallas doesn't have corporate taxes and alot of people commute so they don't get income or property taxes. They make their money of the roads.

expensive? any discount for motos?

Chicago user here

I wanna move to Texas. Should I start by looking into grapevine/flowermound?

And car inspection fees. I have to deal with an affidavit about whether or not my car will be driven in Dallas county for 60 or more days per year every time I do my yearly inspection.

Expensive depends on your definition of expensive. If you use the toll roads, I'd plan on $40-60 per week. I'm not sure if motorcycles get a discount. My stated rate is based on using the pre-paid toll tag system and not the higher license plate based rate.

hey guys are you keeping austin weird!!!!!!!

wont be going into the city every day so does not sound like a major issue. Going out of town here and there to explore mostly

Oklahoma is Texas before mexicans and CA trash ruined Texas. Even their football teams are in the shitter now.

hey guys are you keeping austin weird!!!!!!!?

FW is still pretty based. Much nicer city than Dallas imo.

ITT

idiot texas fags blame their shit on cali

lol wut
I haven't taken a toll road in like two years.

hey guys are you keeping austin weird?!!!!!!!?

>wont be going into the city every day so does not sound like a major issue. Going out of town here and there to explore mostly
You're going to use the toll roads a lot if you live in that part of the metroplex unless you can find a job which is just down the street from your house.

West fort worth should be okay for a while. Lancaster, oakcliff and como are fusing into one big stretch of mega nigger cancer. and northside is a Mexican shithole.

(laughs internally from arlington/mansfield area)

Why do you want to move here?

Dallas is soulless and hot and humid. I can't imagine why you'd consider moving to Houston, which may be less soulless, but more unbearable weather (not trying to be funny)

>good food
what are you talking about, m8? food here is fuckin' shit.

what do you love about it? I have lived in Dallas most my life and hated it most that time. but a lot of transplants love it. always perplexes me but i never want to press irl and sound negative.

El Paso food is fucking horrendous. Easily the worst in the state. It's easier to cross the border and get better food.

North Fort Worth here. It seems the nigger problem is getting worse. I honestly at this point don't mind the spics, at least the ones I've known my entire life have worked. Niggers are just a whole different species. The economy is good though and cost of living is lower now but will make a jump soon with all the new shit opening up around here.

Fucking oak cliff. My one and only time there is the one and only time I've actually had to pull my weapon, fucking nog got mad I didn't want a window wash and started spraying all over my shit. Fuck I wish slavery never happened.

Dude come to Nebraska. There are a few big ass start-ups in Lincoln, Don't go to Omaha, it is the cancer of Nebraska. I know Nebraska doesn't sound fun or anything but it is very easy to get a job here and the house is relatively cheap compared to texass.

Nobody wants to come shuck corn with you.

>actually wanting to live in little LA

>Lincoln

Lol dude are you serious? Give me some more info on this

I want to move to Dallas for job opportunities. I have a business degree and I do web-design contracting

You really are better off around North DFW. See roanoke area, Keller, Southlake if you have some money. Southlake is THE great white Texas that I will live in one day.

idk much about Grapevine, but that area (Southlake) is very nice. about the nicest area in Dallas in terms of just feeling like a comfy place--not as in the absolute biggest, most expensive and extravagant houses (although they're among the top there too)

where are you from? I wouldn't drive a motorcycle on the highways here. everyone's on their phones. they only just made texting and driving illegal this month.

lol, Oklahoma is shit--at least the stuff off 35

faggot didnt even read the thread

agree on nicer.

Quick someone make a virgin city dweller versus Chad redneck meme.

Pic related. Southlake Texas.

>this
grew up in keller we had like maybe 10 kids that weren't white in a school of 4k kids

Austin/Galveston user here

Pick a good city. These two are my favs, avoid San Antone, Dallas, Houston.

Hill country is great - San Marcos or Fredricksburg.

Depends on where you move, the state is too huge to generalize an experience. I lived in South Texas my whole life and it fucking sucks. No jobs at all in the Valley, horrible poverty everywhere that you wouldn't see anywhere else in America and a lot of people here are fucked in the head. Outside the valley is fine.

Architectural PE here. We need moar building specialists!

Only reason to come to Texas if you're Mexican or work in the oil industry. If you are neither don't come here.

>I only know to eat at shit places.

>tfw mechanical

San Antonio is majority white

>>I only know to eat at shit places.

>>tfw mechanical

Learn fucking HVAC my dude. I have a buddy who builds and remodels restaurants, he said he waits fucking 6 months for mechanical systems plans for his jobs. He was trying to convince me to do that shit but I'm comfy hanging off the side of buildings taking pictures.

>San Antonio is majority white
Tejanos are cool, but they aren't white mi amigo.

If you didn't vote Trump or Republican don't come here

Hey Jackass, I lived in Houston and Tyler, and I've voted Ron Paul for president every year since 2008

Austin

PROS
> many outdoor activities: lakes, boating, hiking
> good restaurants and bbq
> good local breweries
> live music almost every night
> lots of bars (caveat emptor)
> UT Athletics
> most niggers and spics live on the east side of town divided by IH-35

CONS
> Democrat run city
> hipsters and hippies
> housing is getting expensive
> terrible traffic

Sparking as an austinite, most of this city needs to be gassed.

Map of where you should and shouldn't move in Texas

DFW is too fucking big. Needs an East West corridor train line. Fuck tollways.

Fw is where it is at. Still having gasoline issues

blame katrina. I grew up in Fort Worth. nigs were not a problem as much until Katrina hit.

Reeves county may be the most oil rich county in he US on a bbl/acre basis. We'll see if they stay baby blue
