Reposting this thread as it had some interesting discussion going.
>Giving every adult in the United States a $1,000 cash handout per month would grow the economy by $2.5 trillion by 2025, according to a new study on universal basic income.
>The idea of a universal basic income has been promoted lately by technology leaders and Silicon Valley billionaires.
>Some, like Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, see cash handouts as a solution to the imminent threat of automation to the labor force. Musk has said that universal basic income will be a virtual necessity because robots will put so many low-skilled workers out of a job.
>Others, like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, think handouts could give everyone the safety net necessary to think like an entrepreneur. Zuckerberg touts UBI as a way to ensure people are not afraid to take risks to pursue the projects and business ventures they are passionate about.
>Y Combinator President and Silicon Valley heavyweight Sam Altman has launched an initiative to study the long-term effects on human behavior of getting a cash handout. The research is still in process.
This would not work because of black people and they'll never admit it.
Jonathan Anderson
But the $2.5 trillion will be worth less than $1000 today because of the hyperinflation it will cause.
Blake Parker
>human So that excludes all the niggers, spics, goatfuckers, et al.
Liam Long
IMO UBI is nothing more than a way to transfer tax money into the pockets of companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Sony, Samsung and all the gadgety, Silicon Valley companies awa car companies.
Human trash will never understand the benefits of saving and investing part of your income in order to grow it over time. Give 1000 dollars a month to a nigger and what will he do ? He'll lease a new phone, lease a brand new car and pay for gas, insurance, fast food, video games and drugs with the rest, he might even end up worse off.
The money doesn't grow the economy, it's just fleeing back to the top, MASSIVELY inflating profits for those companies. Sure the smart entrepreneurs will appreciate a 1000 dollars safety net every month, but the poor will just consider this money to be the NEET life they've been waiting for. Unemployment will skyrocket.
People have argued that automation should pay for the NEET lifestyle of those who want it, not sure how that would work. If companies are the only ones paying the UBI tax, this would crater their profits and they won't argue in its favour nearly as much.
But what do I know, I'm only a frog
Liam Cooper
It would be nice to not have to pay rent but then my rent would double.
Kevin Torres
It wouldn't cost hyperinflation, the government would be just printing money and directly using that. It'd be money that was at some point already in circulation.
Not that I agree with it. UBI is stupid.
Jaxon Walker
Wouldn't be*
Josiah Wilson
It would be good for the average family if they could do it without inflation but the price if drugs would probably go up and those who abuse the system would be in the same position due to financial irresponsibility. Also I'm against anything promoted by Globalists.
Isaac Morales
>$1,000 per month I'm all for basic income, but it needs to be the least amount needed for survival, hence "Basic", not to live comfortably and not be encouraged to get off their lazy asses and do others things as described in the pic.
It'll never work without price regulations anyway, otherwise $1000 a month really would be the bare minimum you need for survival.
Daniel Hall
Printing it would make it even more worthless, it's absolutely going to come out of someone's pocket. If those giant companies are arguing for it, they are obviously implying that it should come out of your pocket too "(((((so it's cheaper for everybody)))))", knowing fully well it's gonna be spent with them
Jordan Campbell
I swear to god... I've wasted my entire life thinking about money. I fucking hate this system so much.
Any bureaucrat or government agent that thinks this is a good system is fooling themselves.
There are smart people living in bad conditions.
Ayden Wood
Typo, I said they wouldn't be printing it.
Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with it, but it wouldn't really cause massive inflation.
Blake Baker
UBI is bad news. If it's ever started, you can count on the next generation of people to be so dependent on the State they will be the ultimate slaves, losing any personal protections for personal freedom. The government and the state should not be so sheepishly trusted.
Caleb Jones
It's retarded to give MONEY for universal basic income. Giving the actual goods thought necessary for basic living would make slight more sense. Give free shelter, free food, free water, free electricity and free transport instead.
Hunter Flores
That's why they're doing it. They saw how well it worked on black people destroying their culture, family and cohesion.
Landon Lewis
Good point. Of course it's not about true piece of mind, if you had guaranteed housing your whole life, how could they impoverish you with inflation?
Christian King
sounds like (((communism)))
Carson Butler
Basic income should be free soup and a place in a dorm and there should be no other form of welfare.
David Ward
why not just reduce taxes by $1000?
Liam White
What kind of smart people are we talking about ?
You show me one of those smart people living in bad conditions and I'll show you someone who had children too early, who got too big a loan, who has a lifestyle they can't pay for in general...
I understand that some people are just hit with bad luck, but UBI wouldn't even fix that as there's no guarantee that giant companies wouldn't just push their UBI tax onto their customers, effectively cancelling its worth.
Samuel Cooper
i think that stuff costs more than a grand though
Sebastian Torres
Only NEETs and lazy faggots want this. If you think paying people our tax revenue automatically for doing nothing is a good idea, move to a country where they do that. Or neck yourself. Either one is fine.
Dominic Long
How does someone who hate socialism reconcile right wing or libertarian beliefs with guaranteed (socialized) housing, soup or god forbid, cash ?
Henry Martin
Where do they get $1k/month.
We have enough issues with social security. They let niggers and other undesireables pull against it even if they never paid....basically a system that I have been dumping money into for 25 years is going broke because of government involvement.
I do not want any government alternative either. Why don't they take that $1k week/person and put it back in to social security until it is correct.
I can take care of my money thanks. I don't want some commie system. People already get money per month. It is called welfare.
Bentley Evans
This is probably the only way it can actually work, provided the government is actually competent and also does not give in to lazy people's demands (free internet, free clothing, free household appliances, also free money, etc).
I was actually thinking of something along the lines of a 25m2 room per person for their own property (that they earn with their own money) and privacy, but yeah, it should be the minimum.
Cameron Scott
>spics mestizos are not Spanish, they are dumpy oompah loompah Matroska dolls brought to life by the feathered serpent
Jonathan Cook
That's the point, goyim.
Daniel Adams
This can't work fucking retards, consuption without production cannot work. They will create a mass of people who rely on the state to fuck you more, so obvious.
Colton Foster
From the tech billionaires pushing the idea of course
Mason Fisher
Idealism will never work in reality. Even if basic income were a thing inflation would continue to devalue the amount making it effectively useless. Even if it did work it encourages being lazy and not working/providing for the economy you live in. You dumb commy fuck.
Jaxon Perez
>There are smart people living in bad conditions. not that smart then.
Gabriel Turner
I know. UBI is as retarded as the Venus Project.
Dominic Edwards
Why is my country full of turbo-socialist faggots when we are already drowning in socialism?
Brandon Thompson
you calling Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla dumb? you try making a fucking lightbulb
Michael Turner
You deserve what you gave to the world!
Jayden Garcia
basic income is new feudalism, and it will completely block any social mobility
Jacob Evans
I don't want UBI, connard. Fuck anything that's remotely socialist including this country.
Christian Wilson
They blacks will be back the next day, after they've spent their "free" money on Jordan's and other useless nigger wear. The rest of it on Newport's and eating out because they're too stupid to make their own food or make any plans whatsoever...
Kevin Morgan
I fixed the pic in OP.
Joshua Nguyen
In USA, UBI would be fine but you have to eliminate welfare/food stamps and oversight involved. Social Security would have to be phased out in 15-20 years
Julian Wright
Great, boil down ALL welfare, poverty programs, medicare, and medicaid into the universal income.
A baseline of money to invest in, house, clothe, and feed yourself, you have no excuse for failing. So people who do fail get no extra help whatsoever.
> "Muh inflation" won't happen. The same amount of money is being spent. Of setting all of this with eliminating welfare and government jobs.
> "Muh special needs" live in a retard colony and pool your basic income.

Thats why they are promoting it so strongly. The sheep masses will welcome new serfdom with open arms.

if they gave me $1000 a month i would just buy $1000 worth of gold every time
Joshua Ross
I will give you all free money. Vote for me in 2020

>give every adult in the U.S. 1k a month for breathing >around 238,000,000 adults in the U.S. >Spend 2.8 trillion >lose around 300 billion every year do you not even know basic math? also with the current leftists they will want illegals to get it too
Jaxson Rivera
>Human trash will never understand the benefits of saving and investing Poor people aren't poor because they don't have money. They're poor because when they get money, they suck with it.
Robert Reed
>The sheep masses will welcome new serfdom with open arms.
They can't learn from our current serfdom, ug it all looks so harmless as it's slowly overcoming the entire world.
Christian Watson
Obviously they mean the study shows that there would be a positive impact with the price of UBI factored in.
Can't believe people are retarded enough to say this, there were some like you in the previous thread.
Ryder White
>and it will completely block any social mobility
what about people who choose to and have the skills to still work as well as collecting basic income?
Jason Campbell
>what about people who choose to and have the skills to still work as well as collecting basic income?
These people will be society's leaders, probably into tech like robotics and AI. They better bank that free money and be prepared to pay it back for freedom.

How would giving away $126 billion = a 2.5 trillion growth?
Caleb Gonzalez
The reason I'm not thinking of getting a job in the first place is because of robots. They're already killing jobs faster than they can make them so what's the point?
I just want money to persue what I want to do, not what I'm forced to do and if annual basic income comes to Britain then my god I'll gladly build that money up to go places.
Lucas Perez
This might not be the thread for it, but a subsidised gym membership would be fuckin sweet. Gyms are god damn expensive and it shouldn't be insane to say as a society we should put more money into benefiting the people instead of treating them like cattle. I'm sure it's a pretty dumb idea cause I don't know a lot about economics but wouldn't it realistically help people?
Anthony Roberts
How would giving away nearly $300 billion a month result in an increase of 2.5 trillion?
Christian Torres
The main problem is that some jobs gives no psychological satisfactions and must be done by people who need the money
Andrew Stewart
And where exactly will the government get this amount of money? Wouldn't it be much easier to lower taxes for people?
Adam Williams
>American education
Ryder Collins
Fucking lazy turds. I work for self improvement, so I can get even bigger salary, if I dont improve in the IT I get out the window. But if I improve I get to get more money, and after around 120k, now I have time to improve myself for the sake of improvement. And I do.
Please stop being lazy and stupid, go get a job, improve so you get better and work it out. And please dont drag everybody, especially hard working man with you in that shit.
Charles Sanders
Economy will certainly not work like today when we will have robots doing all the work(agriculture, constructions, and so on) Basically humans won't need to work.
Sebastian King
People pay for it themselves and still don't even use it. If it's free it will just be a bunch of hobos and the conditions will become terrible so much so that the regular people won't even be able to use them anymore.
Ryder Reed
>In 200 years.
Jordan Young
OP here, I agree completely. This is only posted for the sake of discussion.
Tyler Morgan
Bitch, if we want civilization to keep functioning, somebody has to shovel shit. Nobody is going to shovel shit if they don't have to to survive.
William Cox
where is this money gonna cone from? If the government isnt going to print more to prevent inflation then the only way I see for then to get the money is taxing it away from the american people just to give it to every lazy shitstain that wants an easy life
Ayden Bailey
That's complete shit. When your bodily needs are met it breeds complacency and indifference. Everyone who gets on welfare and off says the hardest part was getting the motivation to pull yourself out of being a parasite. It's so easy to just sit back and rot.
Bentley Cooper
>no psychological satisfaction There should be none. Not that it is impossible to be satisfied....It is irrelevant. You go to work to do a task and get paid in return. There is no misconception about employee happiness. This is SJW bullshit. Get the fuck out of here you hippie. No one gives a flying fuck about workplace satisfaction. No one who works for minimum wage should be satisfied. They should be trampled on by society so that they can draft resumes and move upward in society. The people who work minimum wage jobs their whole life get what they deserve. If they have no self preservation and pride, they certainly won't get that at work....No different than "satisfaction".
>grow by 5 trillion and it would only cost you 30 trillion a year! what a deal goy! notice these niggers never say where the money actually comes from.
Luis Martinez
I see, that's a good point.

According to Jews, anyone who is not a Jew isn't a human.
So white people should be on your list as well. We know your tricks schlomo.
Justin Richardson
250 million adults 1k a month 12 months Total yearly cost = 3 trillion dollars
Anyone care to tell me where this would come from? Note that the current federal budget assumes total expenditures of ~3.7 trillion
I'd say around 50-70 years for most jobs. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't do any step towards basic income until we reach complete automation, plenty of workers will be out of jobs in the next 15 or so years
Samuel Ramirez
>hey let's pay for useless people and let them multiply exponentially instead of having a small useful population
>musk remember this is the guy who is so afraid of machine learning he is trying to regulate it heavily
i personally cannot agree with universial basic income due to the fact that this causes inflation and other issues
Nolan Ramirez
but after that everyone will be so happy that the economy will magically soar
Kevin Clark
well i also would exclude jews

yeah sounds like a great plan
William Perez
they will suffer from inflation and they will not be able to accumulate capital to jump from commoner to feudal in time.
their work will be "equalized" by force
Jordan Williams
however all money the government prints has an interest, this is due to the fact we use a fractional reserve system for money
Aiden Taylor
>Throw in 245 billion dollars per month >grow the economy by 2.5 trillion after pouring that much in for 87 months >Spend 21 trillion dollars in order to grow the economy by 2.5 trillion
So not only is it woefully inefficient, but it would destroy the (artificial) value of the US dollar? WTF i love UBI now.
Xavier Clark
So communism lite.
This is such a shit idea, and we are at end times for it to be even considered seriously.
Why stop at $1000 a month?? Why not give everyone $10,000 a month? Then we will all be wealthy right!?
Parker Rodriguez
Non-whites and Jews will not be getting the $1000. Problem solved.

I mean it's the natural evolution of capitalism really, that evolution being increased automation. We're already seeing a new groundbreaking advancement in automation being implemented in real-time, the Blockchain Technology used in Crytocurrencies. youtube.com/watch?v=G3psxs3gyf8 This technology will automate many logistical desk jobs in the very-near future, well-paying white collar jobs such as Accounting. I hypothesize this will cause FAR more of a disruption to the job market then mechanical automation when it impacted blue collar jobs.
One the highest overheads for a corporation is it's labor costs. Automation frees up VAST amounts of money, money that can be taxed. An "Automation Tax" if you will, something that scales based on a set of guidelines to "measure" the degree at which a corporation is automated, and tax it accordingly.
Automation is the natural evolution of Capitalism, to meet the well-being demands of a nation's population post-automation, supplementation must occur. UBI must be created in some form or another. I do not believe that we will see such implementation until automation through Blockchain Technology is more pervasive in industries. Once white collar jobs start to go, then we can start worry, but it WILL happen, make no mistake. Not all the jobs will go, human labor will always be needed to some degree, but the unemployment will be the biggest factor in the discussion of a nation implementing UBI in some form or another.
UBI is a natural reaction to the evolution of Capitalism through automation, but like many of you said, I fear it will accelerate the infantilizing of the population, and make them far more dependent on the nation's government. Fascism, Collectivism through Individualism, would solve the issue of infantilizing. Putting a priority on societal values to preserve them, values such as our rights, the family unit, education, etc. The problem is implementing such an ideology.
Jacob Campbell
>What happens when you receive basic income
Dominic Hill
So, here's how I would do it, some of it's similar to other people's posts, some of it isn't.
>Basic Housing (free of charge) 10 story high-rise apartment buildings, 100 rooms per floor, 7 floors are residential, 700 single-person free-of-charge residences per building. You get a 200 sq. ft. bedroom w/ bed and sheets etc. and also has a light. No TV. radio, electronic appliances other than the one light.
There's no bathroom, you can use the shared floor bathroom. There's no laundry, you can use the building's laundry near the common room on the 3rd floor, free of charge. The 2nd Floor is the cafeteria and computer library. Since library resources can be infinitely cheaper on the internet than in a book form, getting a bunch of computers and having people queue up for time on them is much more efficient and cheap in the long run.
Food is provided free of charge, as is internet access. However, if you want unrestricted internet access (social meida, entertainment, etc.), you can hook into the building's ethernet LAN network to access the internet through the building's main router for a fee, or you can also buy time on a computer for a fee.
In addtion, security patrols will check every hall of every floor at least once an hour, to keep the peace. In each hallway there will be buttons to alert security if they are needed urgently. The apartment buildings will also be constructed with backdoor stairways that only the police/security can enter to give police the ability to flank any riot/unrest that may occur inside an apartment building.
Job Placement (fee-based): For those who are of the age of being able to work, remote-based staff will attempt to find ANY job the resident. Usually, there are an assortment of jobs and upon entry to the apartment you would fill out a career-placement form, to better find work suited to your skills and desires. However, beggars can't be choosers.
Cont. in Next Post.
