Dry run is a practice exercise where you don't actually engage, but walk through all of the motions as if you were. This could mean going through TSA, syncing coordination for the 4 groups boarding separate planes and different locations, getting a feel for being on the plane and orienting themselves to their surroundings, etc. Everything short of actually hi-jacking it.
