he's the CEO
back to the basement with you

he doesnt make anything an hour you dipshit

his job depends entirely on keeping all Dunkin Doughnuts employees employed......one bad quarter and he can be out of a job.

any entry level employee can move up the company ladder too.

are you suggesting he should be paid the same as everyone? where is the incentive to expand the business and employ more people in that case.

One person owns a brand (maybe created it too).

One person does a job that machines will replace soon and a monkey could easily be trained to do.

Defended.

>Defend this
you and the vast majority of the population lack the capacity and know how to do what he does.
any fucking retard can pour coffee and if you walk into a dunks or starbucks you'll see that they do.

not an argument

Holy shit communists are fucking retarded.

My first job was a pizza place and I made $9/hour to take orders and make pizzas, even I thought $9 was way too much for what I was doing. There's no way jobs like that are worth $15/hour.

Even at my job the minimum wage went up to $10 and to compensate we had to increase our prices by 10% and we lost a lot of customers because of it. The quality of our service or product didn't increase, we didn't get any harder working employees, we didn't get any better equipment, some law went into effect mandating our employers shell out more money on a cost that already accounted for 25-35% of the daily cost of operation and the only thing that changed was the people who voted to pass the law stopped doing business with us because our already expensive product got even more expensive. When our business went down we cut the shift hours and eventually the store hours. We had to take certain items off he menu because they weren't cost effective. The owners of the store came in to work shifts to soak some of the expense. All of that just so our senior employees who were the highest skilled and granted the most hours could see a paycheck that went from $400 to $430 so the employees could afford one more bottle of vodka per month.

>not drinking fleischman's

Alright you fat cat, with your grey goose and monocle...

CEOs are on call 24/7. They are held accountable for every single thing that occurs within the company. They are responsible for the direction the company takes and preventing legal troubles.

The guy handing you your donut is responsible for washing his hands before he takes your premade item out of a box and hands it to you.

>communism has bread lines
>capitalism has a fat poor class
thats enough of a testament to its success.

>not an argument
"not an argument" is actually, factually, not an argument. what i said was literally an argument. and without the guidance of those CEOs and the people who made the decisions and guided the company there wouldn't be 500 different stores and 10,000 job positions for the "workers" to inhabit. that's the main point.

>commie
>autistic
yep, checks out

hahaha what the fuck are you stupid

...

He runs a multinational corperation. Of course he's going to make more than 325x the unskilled laborer he's employing.

>are you suggesting he should be paid the same as everyone? where is the incentive to expand the business and employ more people in that case.
>doesnt understand the concept of altruism
>doesn't want to make the world a better place
>doesn't understand the concept of self sacrifice for the greater good

Are you a woman by any chance?

honestly, if you are concerned about "the ruling class" and your inability to compete on a level playing field with them, then you should be concerned over big government and their regulations that have led to the growth of a corporate state.

unfortunately, your evil and incorrect ideology is taking us THE OTHER WAY and you should be smart enough to understand why the media and fortune 500 CEO's always back and support people like you. you are their useful idiot doing their dirty work.

Unless the workers are ponying up their own money for the materials to make the donuts, no it would not function.

Holy shit why 910 upvotes. No one can be this retarded.

Who's more important, the Captain of a ship or a deckhand?
Who has more responsibility? Which can be easily replaced?

It was a hyperbole. If anyone thinks the employees took that little bit of extra money and started saving up to buy something worthwhile they're delusional, all of the employees took that extra money and blew it on things they were already spending money on like alcohol and video games they'd play for 2 weeks. Their standard of living didn't increase one bit, their quality of life didn't change at all. None of the principle ideas behind the increase in wage were feasible in any meaningful way because the people who work minimum wage jobs typically don't aspire to spend their money wisely.

I know an openly-communist guy and he is unironically autistic. I get on with him alright. My political opinions don't stop me from talking to people

What is outrageous is their awful coffee and frozen doughnuts.

>I know an openly-communist guy and he is unironically autistic.
fucking its not a generalization. they honestly all are to some degree or another

DDs currently has 13200~ stores worldwide
So his hourly salary equals $3~ per day per store which then breaks down to roughly 14¢ an hour when you break down the stores with closing times and those that are always open.

He works 13200 jobs for nickles...and you cannot work one job, commie.

We've been over this. If the CEO's salary was distributed among it's 100,000 employees, each employee would receive an extra 10 cents an hour.

That's communism for ya!

kind of off subject but why is everyone involved in baskin and robins and ben and jerrys a jew?

Oh wow!
You agree to work somewhere for a wage!
And an employer expects you to work for that wage!
The federal minimum wage increasing will put companies on the fast track to automation, and will further the divide of lower and middle class people as more companies either save money via automation or firing in an attempt to keep shareholders happy.

Or better yet. Pass the savings on to the consumer.

The bottom fucking line is someone eats those costs. No matter who does it, it wont be the CEO or the corporation.

Defend why anyone deserves 15 an hour for making doughnuts.

Less than 3% of people working at minimum wage jobs live in poverty.

I'm super sorry he earned a position as a CEO in a coloration and you were to busy rolling on the weekends and smoking weed to do anything with your life.

Get the fuck over your selves commies. I owe you fucking nothing.

does that $4889 include the stock options where he makes the majority of his money from?

fuck off, shareblue commies

AHAHAHAHAHA
This is what capitalcucks actually believe

I won't. Too bad we couldn't work things out. De-Kike and keep the concept of personal property protected and you have a movement that has half a chance to succeed. Unfortunately for you my commie friend, a lot of your backers are in the same seat as this CEO.

Communism is the base request for a brain API that returns resentment. Make no mistake, your 'movement' will succeed. The media will move from where it is now to pushing hatred of white males and, eventually, boomers to trigger a full on communist revolt. Unfortunately, as is always the case with human revolutions, the backers will take their cut, in the same greedy fashion this CEO takes his pay.

So. Yes, you will win. The world you win, however, will not look like anything you imagine. It will be a barren back office for everyone to live. For soviet russia it was power of production and politics, but the american communist movement will end/birth the technological nightmare of the internet of things. You will have lots of fun toys, but no way to express your anger. The posi will be omniprescent. Depression will be a death sentence.

>altruism
>making the world a better place

It's a fuckin' donut chain you retard.

I'll bet he could make a better donut then some of the morons who work there

It's a woman.

Yeah all his money is stacked in a several buildings, in cash. It for sure isn't invested somewhere in some business which hires people and pays them with said money. Wow, it's almost like no money ever stands still.

He would probably strictly follow all of the recipes and procedures to a tee which is something nobody at a minimum wage job does.

In 2013, there were 11 thousand Dunkin Donuts stores. If he split his salary (assuming what's posted is correct) among the STORES (not employees), each STORE would make an additional 44c per hour.

And now the company is making $0 and will raise prices, lower quality, fire employees, or go bankrupt.

Commies are the cucks.
Tell me.
What will you do when the upper class has free slave labor and your are working in a labor camp and your Waifu waits in line all day for a loaf of bread?

There are 10885 Dunkin donut stores
Depending on size there could be up to a dozen employees on site at a time

So 120 ish thousand employees or 1.8 million per hour at 15 dollars an hour

>deserve more than minimum wage for pouring coffee and fucking up 20% of the orders
Suuuuuuuuure.

stop importing people and wages will rise naturally

die commie.

i want to dunkin his donut if you know what I mean

>he keeps only 40 cents an hour from each of the 12,000 locations his brand oversees
>40
>cents
>an
>hour
Get fucked, commie.

>Practically destitute workers making minimum wage don't really need or possibly know how to handle a godsent dollar or two raise from the basement wage level to better themselves or prepare for better jobs and savings

>It's all vidya games and trashy, drunken squalor so why change anything

None of what you said is statistically or even anecdotally true for the vast majority of working class poor. You are talking directly out of your ass in a paper thin attempt to sound tough, as if productivity per worker and fortune 500 revenue haven't drastically outpaced a reasonable worth of that labor per hour.

If the employees of DD aren't satisfied with their working conditions, they're more than free to start their own donut chain where they run the day to day business communally without a CEO. Oh wait, I forgot commies are lazy and retarded and only want to steal what's already been created.

Cannot defend your intelligence. Its too late.

Yes his existence generates this per hour now slam

He has an education and a track record. He took many risks and won. He makes money for investors.

Meanwhile, LEFTISTS serving donuts have little education, rheir track record is either nil or bad, and the only risks they take are to get their hands down the pants of the fat chick who works at the movie theater, and they can't even win at that.

What does that have to do with anything? The more businesses benefit their employees, and the more they pay them, the more the employees will contribute to the economy, which is a good thing. This is really basic economics, my burger brained friend.

Obviously there's a limit, they shouldn't be paid as much as him, but there's literally no one that has the need for more than £1000 an hour. I challenge you to think of any job that is actually deserving of that. Other than being an arse rape victim for money. Yes CEOs work hard, but the common misconception is that they work harder than normal workers. The truth is actually that they work longer hours, but do not necessarily do harder work - and in many cases, on a minute by minute basis the job of the average wagie is a lot harder (usually physically).

This. He provides leadership to the company. The shareholders and the employees are free to withdraw their money and employment and start their own chain without him. They don't because it turns out he actually is worth that much

>commies still fail to understand that supply and demand also applies to labor: the post

Yo dog I heard you like autism so you put autism in your autism to be autistic whilst you're autistic, Damn dude.

It is not a question of what a job is 'worth' but what does it cost to provide the labor to do it? This includes to cost of housing, transportation, food, clothing, health insurance, etc. 15$ will barely do this in most parts of the U.S.

lazy ass bitch wants to make 1500$ a month by serving donuts. bitch i pulled myself from the fucking slums by working my ass off and developing actual skills while you want to make a living by selling donuts ffs you spoiled little teen

Probably because he's a CEO. Much different than the assholes who dunk the donuts in covfefe

If they could, then why don't they?

People should be paid what they're worth. Low skilled labor should be compensated with small hourly pay.

I often get sugar in my coffee when I clearly ask for "just cream." I'm hoping for robots.

You people should come to Mcdonalds here in Australia, employee's earning casually $21/ph and lazy as fuck. I'm sure their lives are much better however the amount of laziness I see when I go to Mcdonalds late at night after a work shift is just atrocious.

Maybe it varies slightly from place to place but living close to several Mcdonalds joints and it doesn't seem as though any of them have any difference in attitude to their work.

>it's a "commie says retarded shit" episode

a CEO's salary is more important that 650 employees salaries combined

>Posting from r*ddit

He's the CEO. He's essentially in charge of hundreds of thousands of jobs. He deserves that money.

>Labor theory of value
Neck yourself, Marxist.

$4889 per hour could hire only 325 employees at $15 per hour.

There's also direct correlation to unemployment and high minimum wage. It's supposed to be MINIMUM. You're supposed to scrape by, not buy a fucking iphone every day. You stupid vain, fucking commie nigger.

>education
literally anyone can get one unless they arent extremely stupid
>took many risks and won
so what you're saying is he's a gambler. And that's deserving of respect/wealth because? Also i doubt that. It's a donut chain that's been around a long time, most of these large fast food restaurants are only successful because they got there first.
>track record
Yeah, based largely on luck

So? If they make $15 an hour, he'll be up to about $20,000 an hour because of the rampant inflation. He is saying he doesn't want $20,000 an hour. Maybe people should pick up a book and learn why he is denying himself such a massive boost in income.

I know, reading is hard. Silly me.

operating a 24-hour doughnut bakery is probably among the most stressful service industry jobs, as they handle orders on 2 fronts, sell stock with a 1-day shelf life, and have to start making food at 2-3 am. modern society demands a service industry, so yeah. managing 6-12 simultaneous tasks at lightning speed, andworking with the public, teaches valuable skills.

>overseeing a multi-billion dollar company is just like me pushing a button over and over!

some people are fucking stupid

productivity of labor and ceos do more than so called workers in a real economy we don't have that. His salary is a fraction fo the company, he would have to fire half the company

>Dunkin Donuts has around 22,000 employees
>CEO makes around 49k per hour
>If the CEO were to sacrifice his entire salary to pay his employees more his employees would still only be earning 2.22 more dollars.

He's right, $15 per hour is fucking stupid.

maybe but that isn't how dunkin donuts operates

YASS COMRADE SLAY

LETS KILL THE CEO AND TAKE HIS MONEY

AND GIVE EVERY EMPLOYEE A ~50000/$4889 = ~10 cents AN HOUR RAISE

WHILE WE BANKRUPT THE COMPANY IN THE PROCESS.

The alternative require employees to subsidize their jobs with below cost labor, which is not rational nor long-term supportable.

The beauty of capitalism is that you can:
>Create you own donut chain to compete with DD
>Pay your employees 20$ /hour
>Pay yourself 20$ /hour
>Steal all employees from DD
>???
>Profit
I dare you to do it. Keep us posted about your success story.

one of the dumbest arguments ive ever seen on this board in my 5 years, and ive seen a lot.

If it's that easy then why don't you do it and become a millionaire yourself?

You know how ridiculous it is to even suggest someone on a living wage could even hope to start a business, let alone compete against a multi million dollar corporation thats been established for decades.

Having to work his ass off, compete against others in a high IQ, high production capacity and be answerable to external investors on a quarterly basis.

>versus an entry level position requiring two weeks of training at Dunkin Donuts

Argument is shit, just like communism.

In the real world what $15/hr means is an offset of labour, the company, businesses will simply seek to offset the equilibrium by extracting more production from less labour. In fact the forced wages could even diminish services or make them even more expensive to the public who in turn has to pay for them.

>econ 101

It was 4889 per image.
Redo the math.

Supply and demand.
Why are sports stars paid so much?

yes, it is very hard, because the government libshits love so much ensured that there are ten zillion regulations standing in the way of diy entrepreneurs

>doesn't know what a plc is

>DURRR LOOK GUYS IM GOING TO MASSIVELY EXAGGERATE WHAT HES SAYING TO MAKE HIS ARGUMENT LOOK SILLY LOOK HOW CLEVER I AM

>Deport all illegal immigrants and our wages will go up!
>Raising wages is bad because it will kill jobs!

Pick one and only one Drumpfkins!

He worked very hard for his position while you jerk off to Karl Marx and demand free money.

>+1$ a hour increase for everyone
>he suddenly makes -10000$/h

>Defend this
He peacefully negotiates his wage without needing to threaten violence on anyone else.

Minimum wage requires the threat of force from a 3rd party when 2 people would otherwise peacefully negotiate.

Not that hard, when you think about it.

>>Raising wages is bad because it will kill jobs!
Doubling minimum wage for high schooler's jobs is patently ridiculous.

>An experienced CEO of a large company is worth the same as a high schooler flipping burgers

how does it operate, then? someone, somewhere has to make the doughnuts every day, and someone has to sell them to several thousand to-go americans. they're guaranteed a shit wage, no workers' rights, shitty, inconsistent work, and mongoloid coworkers, customers, and bosses.

money is literally free, it's 2017. back in the 50s the CEO made 20x as much, and if they made $20/hr they could buy a gold coin with a couple hours' pay. the laborer could still buy a small gold coin on $1/hr.

no, the misconception is people don't understand they have different skills than the common low rung employee.

IN AN IDEAL SCENARIO:
The people at the top, who run the place, make decisions and deals that affect the whole company from top to bottom. A few good moves and you end up with higher profits, customers, and better chance for any low level employee to climb the ladder if they want. A few bad moves and you end up laying off jobs.
Then you get people employed for their specialized skillset and/or experience that makes running different departments of a company more efficient.
Then you get down to the floor employees and floor managers, whose requirement for employment is entry level and usually require physical strength, time, and common sense.

You pay more for the people with more specialized skills and experience. You can get physical labor from most average joes off the street. You don't get a lot of average joes who are trained in IT, engineering, business theory, or have the loads of experience with running a big company successfully. Knowledge and practice will always be scarce vs. physical labor and some common sense.

Some people do a fine job of becoming parodies on their own.

People, who think that it is unfair that the CEO gets that much do not understand that you are just being jealous mofos.

Instead of sitting on your laptop and complaining about how unfair he earns more than me by actually trying... Why don't you go out there take extra risk and generate ideas which will produce revenue and have a consumer base to create a sufficiently large cash flow. I don't know, lets talk donuts, why don't you create a donut which is new like a fat free donut (people will eat that shit up), sell it as a diet donut. Then open your fucking chain by hustling investors, doing consumer surveys and getting out there working 20 hours a day to make it a success and start your own chain, VOLA. You are now earning a shit ton too, its not hard.... at all.

Too much effort? Well that is your own fault isn't it? Ps I am starting my own start up and I fucking hate people who complaint about successful businesses and their CEOs earning a shit ton when they don't know bat shit about how much effort it takes.

because the sports industry creates so much profit through merchandise and advertising the talent of it's sports people are irrelevant, and it's literally become a pissing contest over who can lure players to their team with the most money.

>If it's that easy then why don't you do it and become a millionaire yourself?

You've just shot yourself in the foot. If you aknowledge that it isn't easy to start and maintain a massive company, then those that have, obviously have substantially higher skills than the average person therefore deserve to be paid at a substantially higher rate.

How the fuck do you figure that?
$49,000 per hour divided amongst 22,000 employees = 2.22 more dollars per head per hour.

This man cannot pay $15 to everybody, he simply does not have that kind of money.
Even if he were to fire half his employees and take no salary he would still barely scrape that.

If you got rid of all the farmers there would be no communism.
If you get rid of the food, the communism would still be able to function.

They hire retards who can't even make a decent coffee without fucking it up. Fuck DD.
