When was the last time you payed for anime or manga, and what was it?

>buying anime

today, i bought some dragonball manga off amazon. i more or less buy all my anime and manga. the only time i wont buy anime or manga, is if they are extremely over priced or too hard to get hold of. i cant understand watching anime online but the art of manga always looks better in real life.

can understand watching anime online*

I buy anime and manga pretty regularly but only North American releases. My most recent purchases were the Garo BD and Servant x Service manga.

>payed

Buying things you can get for free is retarded. If you're gonna spend money buy real merch like figs onaholes.

Well, if you stole those you could get them for free too.
Which is exactly what you're doing.

About 8 years ago when I bought the first three volumes of Shaman King, then I realized I could read them all for free and stopped buying

I'm watching Carbonara legally on Amazon.

Yesterday. Spending the week at Disney World and bought a volume of the manga adaption of My Neighbor Totoro in Japanese at the World Showcase. Was fucking expensive ($13 when the pricetag on it was ¥590), but I thought it was worth it. I generally don't buy anime or manga unless I either already read/watched it and want a physical copy, I find a used one for cheap, or there's no scans. I prefer buying figs, models and vidya.

I bought the entirety of Buddha with nothing but gift certificates.

Literally never.

>i more or less buy all my anime and manga
I'm guessing you've watched/read a hundred of each maximum?

When I bought a bootleg dvd of Eva2.0 for 1$

How the fuck am I supposed to steal something from a warehouse halfway across the world? Think before you speak, nigger.

It's not hard to get counterfeit forms of payment.
And calling someone else a nigger when you're stealing is awfully ironic.

I am not a fag so I haven't payed for any anime or manga. I do have a figma of mein wiafu but thats about it. Planning on buying more figures as time goes by.

Actually I just remembered the store didn't have the first two volumes, so I bought them at another store about a week later.

>I'm guessing you've watched/read a hundred of each maximum?
You do know a Crunchy roll and Funimation subscription, in addition to being cheap, get's you basically everything coming out every season, right?

>Not a fag
>Buys figures
Pick one.

You're right, I wasn't really registering subscription services as "buying" the individual things. But my point still holds for manga, and even for anime you're quite limited for anything older than like 2010.

the first volume and never open it but I will buy all the volumes

My philosophy is; if you CAN buy it, go for it.
If you can't, it's their fault for not making it available. steal it.

That guy doesn't sound like he's using streaming services.

Fair.

I never buy manga or anime for the sole purpose of reading it, I just buy physical stuff that I've already read or watched online for my collection if I really like it.

Last week I bought all you need is kill, spice and wolf vol 12 and Solanin.

>buying anime

I bought GiTS vol 1, All You Need is Kill, and Welcome to the NHK LN so far

I don't really see the point in buying anime but physically reading something is a lot better for me

I bought some manga recently but it's Touhou.

I prefer reading manga digitally. It looks better in every way if they're cleaned well.

I've read hundreds if series, it just isn't feasible to buy them all. I also don't want to support fucking CR.
On the other hand I buy porn to upload for other people.

You aren't buying anime in that case, you're buying a licence which will expire as soon as you stop paying.

Stealing involves taking something away from someone else. Making a copy of something that already exists and leaving the original isn't stealing. If someone made a copy of your car right next to yours and drove off on it would you give a shit?

i buy ln's if they're something i really enjoyed - spice and wolf / haruhi are 2 of them. Never bought anime

I would give a shit because I'd want some if it.

If you baked bread and sold it for a living, but someone came over copied it, and gave it away for free, you'd care a lot.
Though I have nothing against piracy, and think most the time it isn't a lost sale, it is still theft.

That's literally what Jesus did. He took bread that was already made and copied it and distributed it to people for free. Are you calling Jesus a thief?

>creating endless free copies of food
Who'd care about theft? World hunger solved.

Last week, got it on a whim.
Loved it. Want to see the live action movie but who knows if it'll ever be subbed.

I bought the blurays for Majimoji Rurumo and a couple issues of Watamote.
All of them RAW

Is it better than the movie? That was one of the worst things I've seen

I haven't finished watching the anime movie yet (I'm watching it right now) but I know that the book doesn't have the scene were she finds rats crawling out her mom or how she got to the circus.

Jesus wasn't magical but yes, if he copied a breadmakers bread and gave it to people he is a filthy theif.

>Jesus wasn't magical
>is literally so broken he can't be summoned in the holy grail war

The last time it was too recent or of a too minor genre/ publisher to be sold in a Bookoff yet. That means, every time.

Just started reading/collecting

Or next time you can decide to buy a manga instead of a bunch of packaged curbs your body didn't need.

He doesn't mean money retard. For example where I live all that's available are worthless dubs. If I were to import it would probably end up cheaper just to fly to Japan. Prices are also extremely high and it's very rare to find anything outside generic entry level trash.

There are artists I want to support because of all the passion, love and research I can see in their works.

bought myself the first 4 Gundam Origin volumes, then picked up a full set of the Haruhi LNs from some guy for $25 shipped

...

...

>retard.
Opinion discarded.
And there aren't anons protecting other anons here. Only samefags. I just love how I hit bullseyes, fatty.

I like reading in the bath/lying down and I like glossy covers, so I buy all my favourite manga. It also makes it easier to spontaneously pluck one off the shelf and start re-reading my favourite scenes. There's something comfortably ritualistic about flipping through physical pages.
If a series is just OK I read it online.

pic related is what I'm buying right now.

Bought FLCL on DVD from Sun Coast years and years ago.

I guess I technically bought Witch Hunter Robin on DVD from the Good Will last year, but eh, that doesn't really count.

I buy Lala DX magazine

Naruto volume 5

This. The last manga I bought to read the story was Death Note, back when I was in middle school. Everything else I read online, and then buy because I want it on my shelf.

Just yesterday I got this at a used video store for only $8.

Bought the Black Lagoon and Hypeedimension Neptunia Blu-rays in January.

I'm really glad that Funimation sells on Amazon, unlike the shitstain known as Aniplex.

>buying translated physical
>ever

I would have to be paid $8 to buy that garbage

>payed

Fuck off ESL

The last manga i bought was like 8 years ago

Volume 11 or 12 of Vampire Knight when it was the newest.
A longass time ago.

I haven't purchased anything since nor have I gotten rid of the volumes of Vampire Knight I already have.

I need to start collecting Pandora Hearts. If I can find library binding of certain volumes all the better.

>Physical
Pokémon the Movie in VHS.
>Non-Physical
Movie ticket for Dragon Ball Z Resurrection of Freezer

Bought the Planetes Omnibus. It's very impressive, probably the best paperback manga I have in my collection.

>5/10/2016
Ignore the machine translation. This is Urushihara Satoshi stuff.

Last week, I bought
>One Punch Man #5
>One Punch Man #6
>Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2 #3
>Blood Lad #7

I bought a mountain of manga, both H and non-H while I was working in Japan last year. I like reading physical works, and I think I paid off any debt I owe to Japanese manga artists for years of free downloads.
