What books would you like to see made into an anime?

What books would you like to see made into an anime?

I'd love to see Shinichiro Watanabe's interpretation of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. Or maybe Anno could do an anime based on Haruki Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase.

The Book of the New Sun or the original mistborn trilogy.

>The Book of the New Sun
Can't believe this actually has an animu style cover.

Death of a salesman.

We had this thread before but mod deleted it for some reason

>inb4 tolkienfag comes back and shits up the thread

Look, if Samurai Flamenco was too weird for anime audiences, you can't expect them to get something that spoils the ending in the title.

We had a whole bunch of these threads on a regular basis. until the mods caught on ;_;

OP here. I meant to also ask who you'd like to see at the helm of the project. I did the first time, but then my post was eaten and when I redid it, I forgot to ask.

I best /lit/ did this.

I did it. I post on both boards pretty regularly.

Based on the character designs in this book.
Please God let it happen one day.

But imagine all the salarymen watching it.

Jack Vance's Dying Earth.

Divine Comedy by Shaft.

Already happened, not with those design but it has.
They are old by now though.

Was the design as good as that though?
Because I am considering buying the book just for the art.

Cutest Alice design since SMT.

No, not really.
I didn't liked the design and never saw the anime, I doubt you can even find it to download.

This Alice is far better, I would like her to be a bit smaller though.

I could see the Count of Monte Cristo working. Replace everyone with cute anime girls and a trap or two.

Already adapted.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gankutsuou:_The_Count_of_Monte_Cristo

I can't see anything but genre fiction being properly adapted into anime.

huh

Is it good?

I got the book as a present and I appreciate it. I don't think the art is reason enough to pick it up though, not that it's too expensive. Gotta read it once, get the most out of it.

I want my fantasy french revolution.

Or anything by Brandon Sanderson.

It had cute anime girls and a trap so it fits your criteria.

I know the story but have only ever seen the old disney film.
I may aswell read it eventually.

The cute art was a big factor however. Now I jsut need to finish roughly 5 books before I can buy it. Fucking backlogs, do other people read multiple things at once or do I just have attention issues?

Animorphs

Night Angel Series seems edgy enough for an anime or even the Mist Walker series.

Tamas best Husbando

While that is a compelling argument to watching an anime, I am not retarded enough to imply that all of them are worth the watch.

I know it might be heresy

but I'd like a Dune anime

I feel like sandworm riding and the knife fights would benefit from anime looks

children of dune would be a good thing to adapt

It's pretty cool. It's also a sort of loose adaptation, because it takes place in a fantasy sci-fi world, but it compliments the artstyle well.

>cugel will never be animated

Did you know that they also made a Wizard of Oz one?

To kill a mocking bird. Set in Osaka.

>sandworm riding
God just imagine Dune with character designs by Amano and the same production values as VHD Bloodlust

children of dune is too anime by itself already

worst part in the first trilogy imo

>worst part in the first trilogy imo
DELETE THIS

i'm weird like that, i actually consider messiah the best part, mostly for its surreal-ness

it's like a feverish dream you wake up soaking sweaty from

>set and costume designs by Nihei Tsutomu
Yay or Nay

God Emperor of Dune is the best Dune book.

Prove me wrong. Protip: you cant

only would work if it was a 90s anime

That book probably shaped a lot of my views on various aspects of the world.

>God just imagine Dune with character designs by Amano
I don't want to imagine everyone in Dune looking like a feminine vampire.

I know about it, I simply don't care because I never liked Wizard of Oz nearly as much as Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

Speaking of which, I would love an adaptation in any media of Through the Looking Glass, I find it to be far better than Alice in Wonderland. It is really a shame it never gets adapted.
Shaft would probably do a good job.

>Amano designs
>not Nagano designs
FSS is just Dune with mechs to begin with.

80's Dune OVA never

Yeah, that's exactly what I'd like, as long as it's more faithful than the movie.

How is that heresy? It comes up in these threads all the time.

Never ever ;_;

I've always wanted to see Lynch's original six hour cut of the movie.
Pity he was so pissed at the studio afterwards that he'll probably never revisit it.

The Holy bible

That's strange, I remember Sup Forums making a big deal out of the Alice book but I never heard of the Wizard of Oz one.
Seems cute enough for me.

the forever war, but bastardized into a yaoi series.

Too bad no one will ever see Moebius' 1k page book of storyboard pages either.

I would totally nail that wicked witch

Is there any story in there with lolis or a lots of cute girls?
It would be perfect if there is one.

Diary of Anne Frank

It's pretty good if you like sci-fi and series with the same animation style as Mononoke

More Dorothy for me.

War of the Worlds.
The aliens are all cute girls who die to Japanese Colds.

theres that one story where those two girls seduce their own father in order to sire heirs irc.

A Song of Ice and Fire

Or The Time Machine. With all the Eloi as a bunch of little lolis and the Morlocks looking like Americans.

That's fucking Sodom and Gomorrah, that'd be a heavy anime.

>first alien-chan accidentally falls into the river because she's the token dojikko
>gets a cold
>humans start spraying cold water at them
>plenty of fanservice involving wet t-shirts

It's cause it just released and there's no scans.

Scans when?

>that'd be a heavy anime.
if they made the freaking hp lovecraft mythos into cute girls i dont see why they cant do that here.

...

Wheel of time is already anime, it just needs to be animated. Anime is basically the only medium that could adapt it properly anyway, 3d would ruin it with enormous amounts of CGI, or butcher it.

THE ONLY GIRL I'VE EVER LOVED

We got this deep into the thread and it hasn't been posted?

Ahem.

heavy anime can have cute girls

>seduce
They got him drunk and fucked him when he was passed out.

Patrick Rothfuss is a hack.

>Stormlight Archive Anime
>Wakamoto as Delinar
>Sugita as Adolin
>Imai as Shallan
Who Kalidan?

Who would voice Kelsier and Vin?

>Secret History OVA
yes

Good series, but it's gonna need a lot of editing by the scriptwriters, as it basically had it's own filler later on.

And also, god help whoever will be drawing on those DETAILS

Silmarillion as a 156 episode OVA series done in the same art style as Record of Lodoss War.
Would also cover material from The Children of Hurin and Tolkien's Unfinished Tales.

anything by Borges or Garcia Marquez

>those taglines

Mein Kampf

isn't that sort of seduction?

I hate that book but I suppose it is more or less a battle harem.

I just want my comfy SOL set in the cultureverse.

Im having an aneurysm thinking about that.

7/10 guys

Old Kingdom series, is practically like a light novel already, following just one characters then expanding to others, epic fantasy and anime hardly ever mix

The only issue is the fact that he shacks up with a fairy sex goddess for like a year and they do nothing but fuck. Don't know that you could put that in a children's cartoon.

>Wheel of time is already anime
>Brandon Sanderson cucked the ending
Yea, it sure is. Remember that gateway savant that basically fucked up the Black Tower by himself?

fucking disgusting. Harriet McDougal did a fucking horrible mistake in choosing that hack.

Redwall
Les Miserables
The Book of Five Rings

>Y-yamete oni-chan, samui yo
> kaze hicchauyo!
>Achoo!
>H-hidoii yo...

No idea but the wind fairy would be so god damn moe.

>Gankutsuou
>followed by the Romeo and Juliet anime
ONE FUCKING JOB

So, how was the book at the end, I still want to buy it.

I want to hear a giant anime girl screaming ULLLAAAA
youtube.com/watch?v=tb4BWSUV8mM

Foundation.
Oh wait, it already has a manga that nobody bothered to fucking translate

Androl was cool, and him wrecking the converts was completely justified beforehand, converts have their initiative and higher functions stripped out of them.

>implying this wouldn't be the greatest NTR anime ever
