My Japanese language learning is fueled with hatred to the Japanese. I am jealous at how they're good at everything from anime to cars to space programs. With those things, the Japanese should have the right look down on other Asians and get away with murder and rape that they did on other countries. Most Asians think that the Japanese are rich people. The people here think that Japanese people are hard-working rich people, but I don't believe so. They're pathetic, unhappy people who are just too dumb to invent anything. I wish I could look down on the Japanese, but I can't because they're way too good at everything.

cont. The only thing they're bad at is English. Being bad at English doesn't mean they're dumb, it just means that they're culturally superior to any other race. While most of the people here are good at English which is generally useless on other fields while the Japanese are good at science, calculus, and physics which is generally useful on almost any fields. Many Asian countries rely to the Japanese on anything technology related but nobody relies on these countries on anything technology related which is sad.

cont. I used to idolize Japan a lot especially their weather and nature. The Sakura trees are beautiful, their cities are clean and safe, and how their history is so great. But there are some people who has awoken of the Japanese dream. Japan is just like any other country out there. I realized there's nothing good in Japan if you scrap out the anime fever. Everything is claustrophobic, Japanese people look down on you for being white, black, or brown. Their behavior is worse than the Korean's plastic surgery. They think they're innocent of the war crimes that their forefathers did. Nothing is good in living or working in Japan. I'd rather stay on my home and help my country to be better than Japan even though it's impossible to achieve that in my lifetime, but I know it will come in the future. It will come in the future.

Anki won't help you in learning vocabulary. It is mainly used as a placebo.

I'm currently using anki for the 2k6 deck and the yotsubato reading deck alongside it, so I can put my Japanese to some use soon, since I think using the language is when you really start to learn it.

What's wrong with it, or what could I improve?

Doing the entire deck is probably not a good idea. Going at a pace of more than 20 cards a day ends badly for most people (poor retention, tons of reviews each day), and at that pace it would take you 300 days to get through it. After 2000 words, it's best to make the jump to mining. It'll be hard at first, but spending the best part of a year just drilling vocab would feel very tedious and unrewarding, I expect, and even if you did it, your vocab would still be too small to read comfortably.

I don't want to talk like a news caster, but I still need to be able to understand them when I watch the news.

Learning from all of these sources are fine, as INPUT is entirely different than OUTPUT. You should strive to experience a wide variety of inputs to be able to understand things in general.

A lot of anime in particular can have Slice of Life style situations too, so it's not that far removed from normal everyday dialogue.

For future reference (on how to tell if something is a shitpost):

However, new comers to the thread (and arguably mods who aren't studying Japanese) wouldn't necessarily know. If we don't start calling out the bullshit spam, nothing is going to change - we've been waiting a little while now already.

If we can't rely on mods to actually do their job, we need to make the bullshit more transparent: less people will respond to the spam & more importantly less misinformation will be spread.

Has anyone actually tried getting the mods attention about this? It's kind of ridiculous that it's been going on for so long and results in the thread becoming unusable for half the day every day

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, my best guess is that the mods are ignorant in regards to reading Japanese / this thread's culture.

There have been times in the past when anons did report quite a few of the spam posts, only for the mods to be 100% out of the loop and assume that because the posts have "japanese" in them, they were on topic.
