Was Shakugan no Shana ever popular? I read from magazine and the wikipedia article that it was actually pretty popular but whenever i ask other otaku about it, they say they've never heard of it.
Was Shakugan no Shana ever popular? I read from magazine and the wikipedia...
Lurk more, newfag.
Actually, just kill yourself.
JC Staff botched the adaptation.
I liked it, but don't try to think too hard about the plot.
It's those kind of 'famous character of the season' like hestia or megumin
Was Shakugan no Shana ever popular
It was massively popular here.
Not really, no. It was popular for years.
Nigga, Shana is literally the reason for those battle LN romcom/harem adaptations.
Shana put Rie Kugimiya on the map
I'm pretty sure that while Naru from Love Hina is the prototypical modern tsundere, Shana is the absolute perfect example of it.
implying someone like OP knows what a tsunderie even is
good day OP
i strongly recommend you to use pic related
have a nice day
They did manage to sell 8.6 million copies of the light novels.
I wasn't asking if the character was popular but rather if the work itself was popular. I already knew that Shana basically created the archetypical Tsundere but other than her, what do otaku remember about the show?
Oh well no, nobody remember Shana anymore because it ended and there was a big gap between S2 and 3 so people stopped giving a shit but it was popular for a long time
but other than her, what do otaku remember about the show?
No it's just Shana
Are you serious? It's not Code Geass R2 popular, but it really popular still. Shana was the start that set of the explosive hype of Rie's tsunloli popularity and Shana herself dominated quite a lot in polls, saimoe, and things like that in Japan.
If nothing else, the series' ost was godly.
You referring to the first season stuff? Because after reading the novels, I honestly prefer the anime version.
Also, Shana a cute.
Fuck off, OP, you're too new to be on Sup Forums. Please never post again.
muh modern tsundere
I swear to fucking god.
Maybe I didn't phrase my question well. What I wanted to know was if the show remains popular today.
i ask other otaku about it, they say they've never heard of it
Sounds like you hang out with faux-taku tumblrtards who started watching anime in 2013 to get in on the Attack on Titan fad. In which case you're probably just like them.
Shana was a huge deal in 2005 and for many years after that, it's still got a dedicated following in fact. It was a trendsetting anime for light novel adaptations. It's impossible to not know about it if you were at all involved in anime during the mid 00s.
Those who don't know about Shana and of the era she once reigned makes me physically sick.
I was. However, I'm asking this question bc I see less and less threads on 00's anime than before. I don't think I've seen any threads on Gurren Lagann this entire year. I feel that otaku are forgetting about those shows and shifting their attention to more recent moe shows. idk, I preferred when there was more variety back then.
no oh god shana is hot post yet
You let me down Sup Forums.
Also kill yourself op.
Once again, kill yourself.
Are you for real.
This is probably the best bait I've read all year.
haha, no. I realize that I'm a dying breed of otaku. I am honestly disappointed with the direction is taking. Every year I see the same moe crap being cranked out by the same studios. to make matters worse, modern otaku only care about shows that pander to moe addicts and waifu lovers. I makes me sick. I realize that moe isn't a new concept but it has become the status quo. The Cowboy Bebops, the Evangelions, the Full Metal Alchemists are being replaced by the same last crap and no studio is trying anything creative.
This is some high quality bait
they killed the anime with tons of reboots
You do realize that this has been said about every form of media, in every age, since the cavemen started drawing shit on walls, right?
In 10000 BCE I guarantee there was a caveman who looked at the drawing in the cave he just found, and said the caveman equivalent of "literally nothing but waifus, fucking moefags ruin everything."
ooga booga kawooga uguu~?
The level of elitism in this board
Miyazaki was right. Anime is dying and otaku are the ones that are killing it. You niggas refuse to watch anything that doesn't have moe, waifus, thunders,etc... Those have been done to death. But since no otaku are buying anything SLIGHTLY new and original, animation studios have to produce the same tired harem and moe anime over and over. Thanx guys for ruining it for everyone.
imagine the caveman version of Sup Forums
a bunch of guys who want to fuck the primitive drawings
Phoneposters making quality contributions yet again, I see.
Was Shakugan no Shana ever popular?
How new are you?
resorting to ad hominem bc he doesn't have any valid arguments anymore
What a sad being you are
OP you have to be 18 or older to post here.
please fuck off
Me on the left.
Referring to yourself as an otaku.
Just kill yourself normalfag scum.
Nigga I'm 18 alright. Proof that none of you faggots can tell the difference between a grown man and a 12-year old at a PC. Seriously, I don't know which board is worse: Sup Forums, /pol/ or /b/?
Do you have any definitive proof that says that those who watch moe shows refuse to watch anything else? Or are you just projecting?
And by the way, what anonymous posters on Sup Forums care about has about zero impact on what kind of anime gets produced.
Explain why I only see moe anime coming out every year with only one or two non-mow anime that are actually worth watching. Trust me, if I could do anything to stop this flood of mediocrity, I would.
I'm sure Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion and Full Metal Alchemist had a form of moe in it. Just not the in you face Kawaii~ Uguu~ that you think moe is.
So you're new and/or underage.
For every Bebop, there was a hundred shows of pure dogshit. If you think the average quality of anime was higher in the past, you're just retarded. Watch more anime, faggot.
Because it's what sells stuff. Anime make most of their profit from selling merchandise, and moe anime have the most desperate fans willing to buy the most figurines and dakimakuras.
Was Shakugan no Shana ever popular?
Where were you when it aired? Certainly not on Sup Forums.
What is your definition of moe anime? Because I don't agree with your premise that only "one or two non-moe anime" come out per year.
I thought about posting it, but I didn't feel like it because OP gave away his newfaggotry too obviously.
It was popular solely because of the S OVAs. Shit was so fucking hilarious.
It doesn't speak in your favour that you act like an underageb& subhuman.
Shana was big enough that it was one of the handful of light novel adaptations to actually get a third season, unlike a certain other series whose fans are perennially left in the lurch.
I picked an anime at random from the summer 2016 selection on Myanimelist. Pic related is what i mean by moe. Notice that Fate Kaleidf is on its 3rd season? How come this crap gets a third season while more deserving shows don't?
Just checked back. Its on its FOURTH season, jesus christ
I'm just waiting for the incoming wave of butthurt from yurifags when
Shirou hijacks the show.
It'll be the biggest mass triggering since Touma took over Season 2 of Railgun in mid-2013.
If you're not gonna put the effort into making good arguments then I won't bother with grammar
An example is not a definition, idiot.
Maybe I just have to accept it. Anime today caters to a different demographic than me. Maybe its time to abandon anime. The shows turned to crap, the fandom turned to crap(not that it was very good to begin with), maybe I should pick up something else. Maybe I'll pick up fucking bitches as a hobby.
Shana is a miracle of the universe.
Why are you such a faggot op
I can't tell if this is bait or you're being serious. Fucking hell.
Yes, do that. Fuck off and never come back here.
Holy fuck do I have to spell out the definition for you?
Not before one last show. SHOWER ME WITH YOUR HATRED /A/UTISTS!!!
I used to think like OP. Then I start enjoying things and stop whining.
According to that definition, any character in any series could be considered moe to someone.
any character in any series could be considered moe to someone.
I think you're on to something here.
You gotta admit some of the fight scenes are pretty awesome.
Stop posting Yuuji.
Maybe its not moe that is the problem. Maybe the problem is that the medium is saturated with harem anime that takes the place of other genres.
and the fandom
But Illya isn't a harem. And harems are like 10% of most seasons.
You must be new
There are 45 new TV anime this season, of which only two are harems. Fuck off.
Count me all the harem shows of this season.
sartenazo Así son las buenas, ¡si señor!
Anon, if you removed all harems, CGDCT/SoL, and LN adaptations from this season, you'd still have 75% of it left.
people still responding to this bait
idk anymore. I've been burned so many times over by the anime industry I've become cynical and numb.
This might explain why
So what exactly is different between the anime and LN?
You are a bullshit lying faggot. You wouldn't need to even make this thread if you knew about it. Fuck off to your streaming circle of facebook cunts.
Is the third season of Shana worth finishing? I dropped it after episode 6 I think.
At this point you should probably just read the novels while listening to the OP on repeat.
LIGHT MY FIRE.
She still lights my fire!
Have you not seen the saimoe results from the mid-late 2000s OP?
As if he even knows what Saimoe is.
lurk more faggot
Did Hina ever win?
No...but there's still time!
How do you even get internet?
God this show, it took such a dive at the end. Still, I enjoyed it.
