Depends on how you look at it. To be honest, if you look at the "nordic" model up until 1950 or so, it is good, it works. Solidarity with plenty of freedom. There is the "nordic model" and then there is nordic ethnicity. The old kings and queens in Denmark always took care of the truly unfortunate, what we do today is just throwing money out the window. Denmark went from being the sixth richest country in the 60's to number 36 present day. I would call that a fail.

Nordic model is a way of society which is organically arrived at. It seems very similar to the 'French system'.
