Tumblr pandering

Didn't end up fucking

Several. Here are some:
>Mangaka hated his readers a whole fucking lot. He hated them because they praised Solanin to be one of his top works and wanted more like it, the hate grew to the point the latter half was written/drawn to spite the readers. Read the long interview with him.
>Coming of age story done wrong. There is nothing to take and learn from the story in the end, since there exist no message about growing up, and maturing.
>Punpun is a self loathing shit, even in the end when he has all his friends, family and "girlfriend".
>The fanbase is one of the fucking worst, reddit´s favourite manga. "I could really identify with Punpun since I feel nothing but hate for my family, I know they love me, but I do not", "How did he do it? Pun is me in manga form, Berserk is like edgy teen manga now after Punpun, is one of the most deep work ever made"

>>Mangaka hated his readers a whole fucking lot. He hated them because they praised Solanin to be one of his top works and wanted more like it, the hate grew to the point the latter half was written/drawn to spite the readers. Read the long interview with him.
Source?
>it's done wrong because there's nothing to learn from the story
Meaning you aren't capable of learning, meaning learning is required for it being enjoyable, meaning you have to learn something from coming of age or what? Implying there is no such message obviously.
>I can't put myself in his shoes because I would be happy when I had his things
>fanbase is shit
Not an argument. Every fanbase is shit. And always will be. You vastly overestimate an average-person's intelligence. It's nothing to do with the story itself however.

Voice acting was terrible.

>Mangaka hated his readers
It's a good thing. SnK author changed the story to please his readers, for example.

The good vibration guy and his homies.

>the story in the end, since there exist no message about growing up, and maturing.
It's a look into one messed up child's life and the relationship and struggles he goes through. That's it. Who cares if there's no "message".

yeah. the first 3 volumes are great. Volume 4 s pretty good (or whatever volume has the badminton battle in it, maybe it spills over to 5) then the rest of the manga is bad.

I only find flaws in the sense as a reader you can get lost in certain situations, mostly when you come from reading regular manga and zero books. The whole Pegasus thing made sense after Punpun confronted God, so I can't call it a flaw. But it was too innovative to expect the reader have a first reflection about how it was a criticism about ideals instead of a manga trope. But I think the big two pages with the funny fake characters info was enough to prepare some of them.
The old friend with glasses that interacts with Punpun's mom and is see again at the end, came of nowhere. An it took me a little to get it.
And saying that those are flaws is just forcing a word for the sake of being insecure and consider Punpun a good manga. People are so obssesed with calling everything masterpiece or good, that at some point using words like overrated, forced, or bad is just a childish game.

Yes, it's garbage.

>the mangaka hated his readers
good, authors who write to please the public write like shit (like Dickens)
>coming of age story done wrong
it's not a coming of age story at all, since in the end Punpun didn't change at all. having a pessimistic message is not the same as having no message
>the fanbase is one of the fucking worst
that has nothing to do with the quality of the manga though

Shitty photoshopped photos as backgrounds.
Too much tell, not enough show.
Too many monologues explicitly explaining the audience what they're supposed to think or feel.
Hox himself already called Punpun on its bullshit, desu.

So: Who the hell was that mysterious guy on top of the miso factory rooftop? Has this ever explained?

You know, I often see posts like this one praising Punpun. Oh, it's so amazing! Oh, Punpun changed my life, it's the best manga of all time! Punpun is a masterpiece of written media!
I disagree, I don't understand why people like this manga so much. Yes, I can relate to the main character. I also went through depression myself, and I don't think I ever managed to "get out" of it. I am a teen (18), I made bad choices in life and continue doing mistakes every day, so I'm pretty much the target audience for this manga.
But even so, all I see in Punpun is just some cheap drama that just keeps happening again and again to try and make the reader sympathize with the titular character. Some pretty nice art that's all substance and no style. Boring and nonsensical developments and a bad cast of characters. All kept together by some pseudo-artistic ribbon that is the cartoonish image of the protagonist.
All in all, Punpun is barely a 6/10 manga, quality-wise that is.
I'd say something about how quality is objective and enjoyment isn't, how you can like something even if it's bad (it's normal to do so, after all. I do it myself and so do most people, there's nothing wrong about it), but even on that front I couldn't find anything positive to write about. Unless you just like seeing the suffering in people, but then you can't really say you relate to the main character, which is what most, if not all, people that praise this title say.

wat

it's shit and wannabe deep

The interview should be in this book if I remember right.

I've read that. There's no interview there. If there's an interview with qoutes. You're supposed to be able to find them easily.

>good, authors who write to please the public write like shit (like Dickens)
You miss the point. The guy made the manga to spite the readers. That's just as bad as pandering.

Have we read the same book?
There are interviews in there.
There are even some gag interviews with some one called Niio Asano if I remeber right.
And a talk with some of his friends and other artists.

>I've read that. There's no interview there.
Proof?

>I've read that. There's no interview there.
Wat
It even says so in the description on amazon that there are interviews in there.

To this day I don't even know what Punpun is even about.

my baka list says I have.

Then show me the quote.

>SnK author changed the story
What? When did that happen?

fucking good vibrations, the only part I completly skip on my 2nd read through

amazon.de/CTrl-T-Inio-Asano-Works/dp/3842010303/
>With Interviews.

>That's just as bad as pandering.
nope, pandering is what people do to gain popularity and compromise quality. writing to spite the audience is more novel and gives freedom to the author

>my baka list says I have
Kek

>Completely Scanlated?
>No

Now show me proof you own it.

Have you ever saw someone so stupid that you ever wondered if you ever were ever stupid at all?

seen*

I'm still waiting on the interview man. Where's your proof?

Is Asano the greatest modern mangaka?

see

I think it's about Punpun

I hate about half his stuff but recently he's been very good. Punpun is a masterpiece of course and Dead Dead is awesome.

So show me the interview. Show me the quote. If a german listing on amazon is all you can come up with. I'm not buying it.

Feels good he's no longer pretentious about his works. Even Punpun was pushing the preaching too obviously at times.

Punpun always came off as self-aware about its preachiness to me. Like "look at these crazy fuckin' characters can you believe they spew this shit?" It's cool cause it shows you a bunch of wild extremes of ways of thought without ever (to me) seeming like it was advocating any of it.

>I've read that

*I've only read the scanlated parts.

I liked Punpun tho.
DDDD is just better.

Well sorry for not being able to read a german interview...

come up with, I'm not buying it.

Not him but the interview is not scanlated you dipshit.

I'm not selling.

I know enough german. Post the interview.

Well sorry but if it's not scanlated they it may as well not exists.

Are you retarded?

buy it

I only want THE FACTS, otherwise sorry not sorry but I'm not buying it nor am I selling it.

>otherwise sorry not sorry but I'm not buying it nor am I selling it.

Post the interview or you may as well be lying.

are you me

What happened to Rukia? Rukai used to be my crush back when I was new to anime. Sadly I quickly find out her gender

burden of proof lies upon you

>not pandering at all is just as bad as pandering

>burden of proof lies upon you
No, it lies on him:

>new ID
no it doesn't

But spite doesn't give the author freedom at all. It's just the opposite of pandering. But neither would be 'his choice' it would in both cases be influenced by the audience. You really haven't thought this one through.

Interesting, but once the novelty of the whole "oh he's a duck" wore off it got boring. Too much "oh I hate my family blah blah" shit going on. glad the bitch dies in the end

>It's just the opposite of pandering
I thought it's called not pandering.

The good vibratiozzzzzzzzzzz

Having spite means you have no control over your work but write shit out of spite

Just google my shit up senpai.

Why do you think it went from extinction of humanity to continous waifufagging with zero casualties?

I don't think you're supposed to sympathize with Punpun

Because Armin is pure?

An actual series that pandered to tumblr of all things is Legend of Korra. Since it genuinely was disliked all over the place and no one was watching it. Then they forced the diversity.

I don't see Attack on Titan that way. You can have both waifufagging and extinction of humanity at the same time.
