Ancient af when it comes to the military. It's because of a standard deal that the DoD has where they'll let a studio film on location and use military personnel/equipment as extras/props, but the studio has to pay for their time, any expenses related to the equipment (fuel, maintenance, etc) and the Pentagon has to approve of the script first which generally means they'll demand you take out anything that's 'sensitive' or puts the military in a bad light. So if you want to show off all those fancy fighter jets, you can't have the whole thing be about how the military rapes people.
