Is Nichijou entry level anime? I'm arguing with someone right now, and he's saying Jojos Bizarre Adventure is. What qualifies entry level anime?

Is the person you're arguing with actually autistic?

who fucking cares?

they are required watching

Fuck off.

Entry-level anime in my opinion is a show that has easy to digest content (stories that aren't heavily engraved in Japanese culture for example would be easier to digest for an outsider).

Shows with less Japanese pun jokes or "EEEEEEEEHHHHH?!" would be more entry level.

Nah, if anything enjoying Nichijou requires advanced levels of weeaboism.

Oreimo of all things is apparantly entry level now.

They both are

Both are.

Entry level anime is always shit

Fuck off and get out with that nigger you are talking to.

so out of SoL anime, nichijou would be out (non-western humor style), as would lucky star (too many references to other media)

so from that genre, "entry-level" would probably be azumanga or yuru yuri or something

I'd say they're pretty close actually and wouldn't bother to differentiate between the two in that way. Nichijou is just for bitch ass faggots and Jojo is for gar bara men.

I'm pretty sure "Series I deem too popular" is the agreed upon definition by most snobs.

>(non-western humor style)

Isn't anything except [anime/manga I'm currently watching/reading] entry level?

Nichijou is pretty high up there on the 'You must be this Japanese to get this joke' scale.

Nothing beats Joshiraku, though.

You need to be japanese to be able to enjoy nichijou.
You need to be at least 12 yeas old to be able to enjoy jojo.
Entry level anime is anime that's easy to understand.

Neither are.

Just try and show Nichijou to normalfags. They won't even understand what's happening.

I think he referred too the part when you forget that word that describes something that is not western, but whatever.

Nichijou was my re-entry point for anime, and was the entry for a lot of my friends. I know it doesn't seem it because of the obscure humor but I think the lack of lewd fanservice and the good animation makes people respect anime more when they watch Nichijou.

Nichijou is one of the most beloved anime.

Joshiraku is more on the non-western scale just for the fact that translating some of the jokes is almost impossible.

There's more than enough physical comedy that would get through.

Nichijou has a truly japenese style of humor with their jokes.
Something more objective/easy to understand and western styled like Panty & Stocking are FAR more "entry level" (aka accessible to normies).

>normies
Kill yourself too.

Normalfag, Normie, same shit for me.

Then kill yourself with more reason.

>same shit for me.
lurk for 2 years before posting

Nichijou and Jojo are both entry level

Jojo is entry level because read the manga

Yuru Yuri is steeped in Japanese humor. Akari using her name as a pronoun is a massive character trait that simply doesn't translate.

Fuck off.

Thanks for the (You)

Entry level is such a shitty concept. Just let people watch what they find interesting.

It's irrelevant on the level of the individual show, but it becomes less shitty of a concept when someone's top ten are all popular shows with heavy Western influences.

Neither Nichijou or Jojo are entry level.

Entry level moe SoL would be Azumanga or K-ON.

Entry level battleshonen would be Naruto.

Actually, now that I think of it, no moe SoL is entry-level. Moe is pretty much by definition not entry level, but rather tends to appeal much more to people with high power levels.

Nichijou was one of the first anime I really enjoyed. As I started watching more anime, my opinion of Nichijou started to diminish a little but I still think it's pretty good. Other shows require more of a taste for anime and a more generous attitude towards the different things that tend to put other people off (like the fanservice, for instance, which is practically nonexistent in Nichijou).

I like Nichijou a lot, but I used to like it a lot more than I do now, and I think shows like Aria and Yuyushiki are far better in terms of pure slice-of-life, but also very far from being "entry level" just because of accessibility.

Remember not to confuse "entry level" with "low quality," not the same thing at all.

none of them really are
but does it really matter if any of them were

Maybe it's more appropriate to call someone's taste or knowledge entry level, rather than a particular show?
You can have watched an obscure mecha OVA from 1978, but if you don't know what a tsukkomi or Ultraman is, you're entry-level as fuck.

Nothing wrong with that. That just means that person likes western shit.

>arguing about anime irl

This will ensure you stay a virgin

Sup Forums is so out of touch with reality that they don't realize shows like Nichijou are practically unheard of to 99% of anime viewers.

Most people either watch Naruto, Bleach or Sword Art Online, and maybe they've watched Attack on Titan too.

if nonNEETs like it

>you're entry-level as fuck.
That's lewd user.

that's a bit high--nichijou videos on youtube have millions of views and the show is universally known both here and on most other large anime communities, even if it doesn't hold a candle to the number of normies who have watched fairy tail and snk

Ever gone to an anime convention?

>normies

Are you that same faggot?

>normies
>knowing all that shit about outsiders

Why would you do that to yourself?

KyoAni is a darling of Sup Forums, and Sup Forums is surprisingly influential in the serious western anime community.

>What qualifies entry level anime?
Its popular with the Toonami/Adult Swim/dub crowd. So no, Nichijou isn't entry level as most people who only watch dubbed anime have never seen it. But it is one step above entry level. Since its loved by the type of people who just got into watching subbed anime.

>lucky star
>not entry level
what is this nigga smoking

Nichijou is a tried and test baby's first anime.
Take my anecdote for what it is.

correct answer and also best girl.

Hey user
Nearly any show can be entry level
I've got friends into anime through Non Non Biyori, I've got friends into anime through Jojo's, I've got friends into anime through Lain.
Generally speaking, if it's a good show, it's entry level for people who enjoy that sort of genre.
This includes Nichijou for comedy.

not exactly entry-level but it's still close to the tip of the iceberg. I'd say it's whatever level comes after entry level.

It probably means that they haven't gotten into anime much and are just occasionally watching stuff recommended by their friends that seems similar to their Western series. I mean, they're free to watch what they like, but I'd rather they kept out of anime communities if they're only going to watch the OPMs and Parasytes.

Any show is good, so long as it doesn't conform to western stereotypes of anime. Best to stay away from kill la kill and anything ecchi. You want to make them see the medium as a medium, not as thinly concealed porn.

Fuck off.

Here for you user

>Nearly any show can be entry level
And as you said same shows can't be considered entry level for other people, that's why there's a general consensus of what genres are the most accessible to the masses, you can't throw futa at a thousand people and expect none of them to masturbate or otherwise.

>gotten into anime

What does that even mean.

Would western shit also something like Patlabor or The Wings of Honnêamise? I would imagine any westerner loving those.

>tentacle porn makes hentai objectively bad

they'd be like 'that dude just suplexed that goat lmao or 'lol yucow hates school just like me!', I don't see what's so japanese about

Entry level doesn't make something bad. In fact, it's usually the opposite.

That said, Nichijou is bad and unfunny.

>What does that even mean.
Into
9 informal (of a person) taking a lively and active interest in (something): he's into surfing.

See? Nichijou has some heavy buddhism shit that makes sense after you read some eastern philosophy.

So unless they watch your approved shows they have not gotten into.

the whole point of KLK is how rapidly you're completely desensitized to fanservice, given the absurd spectacle of it. it's a comedy first and foremost

it's not the deepest anime overall but it's a fun, clever, and well-executed take

entry level=shonen

Jojo and Nichijou aren't entry level shows ,though they are popular with entry level people.

It's been over a century since Queen Victoria's reign, but you losers insist on labeling anything remotely sexual as puerile and bad.

what exactly is the defined boundary between "entry level" and not?

Entry level doesn't mean bad.
It means easy to find, easy to get in to, and generally can be enjoyed by most people. Many are considered a ''must watch'', even if they're not very good. Some are classics, some are trainwrecks (Code Geass is entry level, for example).

I'd say that makes sense... until Ragyou's bad-touch-mommy shit. I sure as hell wasn't ready for any of that.

watch more anime and find out

This.

Most of the 6-7/10s who claim to like anime have only watched the REAL entry level stuff like Bebop, Trigun, FMA, Space Dandy, and Sword Art. Every now and then there will be a show that reaches meme status and they'll watch it before it's dubbed like Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill, and One Punch Man.

space dandy isn't anywhere near as well-known as the others you brought up

Continuing:
If Hamlet were performed by a nude cast, would that detract from the art? There's nothing in the folios that specifies clothing.
Maybe you being uncomfortable with sex has nothing to do with anime.

Entry level anime are easy to digest, and pretty much bereft of a Japanese feeling. I don't know how to explain *it* exactly, but if you took an entry level show and dubbed it, little would be lost from the shows original tone.

Fuck off.

Shit like K on is alot of people's first anime.

It's not straight up normie accessible but it's in every self-proclaimed "anime fan's" line up of shows they've watched if they aren't the sort who keeps up with anything in the season.

No, nigger, you can have terrible taste without being entry level. But someone who picks up a show every two months when they hear about it on Facebook is not into anime, this shouldn't be fucking controversial.

>If Hamlet were performed by a nude cast, would that detract from the art?
Would it add anything to it?

How many shows per season you need to watch to be 'into anime'?

I don't watch any airing shows but I find my own anime to enjoy and download new series I find by myself all the time.

>I don't watch any airing shows

I wait enough with manga as it is. There is enough anime to where by the time I catch up in my backlog I've added a finished airing season with maybe 10 shows.

They're both entry level as fuck. Nichjiou basically replaced Cromartie as the entry level comedy.
And Jojo is pretty fucking popular to a point that people that "don't normally watch anime" and only watch shit like attack on titan still watch Jojo.

Read manga and watch anime at the same time.

Should I feel bad that it was the first anime I watched? And dubbed too?

You need to add something to Hamlet to make it good?

I already watch my manga on youtube, how can I watch anime at the same time?

Either second monitor or just use two windows, idiot.

it was a rhetorical question m8

If you're actually ARGUING with someone over whether or not an anime is entry-level, you should either get new friends or kill yourself.

if by entry level you mean shit, then yes.

that´s because it´s a bad fucking show.
