丼研に串打ち研究會の元部員が全員で加盟。
→丼物の上に乗せる串を極めるという名目で串料理ばかりを研究。結局元の串研と同じような活動をすることに。


さらにフランス料理研は全員で郷土研に加盟。
→フランスの郷土料理を研究する、という名目でフランス料理ばかり作る。


さらに和食研、タイ料理研と次々に郷土研と丼研に加盟していく。

その噂を聞いた豪田林。
ちゃんこ研も郷土研に加盟することを決意。


しかし最先端料理研究會だけは
アリスの『書類書くのめんどくさい』という理由と愛想のない黒木場のせいで入部希望は０。


そして１週間後には丼研・郷土研の２つに全生徒の半數が所屬するという異常事態に。
空いた調理室を借りて串物を焼いている串研の面々。
そこに叡山が通りがかり、因縁をつけるもドアには『丼研』のプレートが。
主將の甲山がドヤ顔で叡山を追い出す始末。
叡山が去った後、部員から拍手を受ける甲山。
甲山は肉魅がセントラルに勝利してくれたからだと涙目になる。

『丼研・郷土研のどちらかに所屬すれば、以前の研究會と同じ活動ができる』

この噂を流した張本人は一色だった。
そしてこの異常事態について會議で報告している司。
その元兇となった楠・メア・熊井らは隅っこで冷や汗ダラダラの様子。

「『進級試験』があるから大丈夫だ」と笑顔の薊に安心する兵隊たち。しかし「君達も退學をかけ、試験官として參加してもらう」との言葉に凍りつく。


そして進級試験の概要のレジュメを配る薊。


・場所は遠月の所有する北海道の山嶽地(狩場として使用されている)
・いくつかの班に分かれて試験を実施
・留年するが進級試験を辭退することもできる
・２回続けて辭退したら退學
・班ごとに合格できる」定員」があり、どんなに素晴らしい料理を作っても定員に入らなければ退學

We have Megumi, she's great and all, but she's just Onodera Kosaki - Cooking Version, and as such is really boring.

Then, we have Hisako, she's adorable and a bro. I'd like her to win the Soumabowl. As for Erina, besides being a semen demon and abnormally cute, she has great potential to be best girl.

IMO, overall best girl would be Alice, but she isn't part of the Soumabowl.

I don't know why people were so shocked. The MC getting 1st is the norm, not the exception. The underlying issues of certain manga that result in the MC not getting 1st place in popularity polls has more to do with those MCs being very boring characters than the presentation of the manga and the girls themselves.

For all that some people in these threads complain, Souma has an actual personality and is heads above the likes of fuckin' Rito and Raku.

It also might have to do with the fact that Souma is fundamentally a battle/sports manga in spite of its focus on food. It's going to have a wider appeal than the 15-20 crowd Nisekoi and To-Love Ru typically cater to. I think dudes on Sup Forums forget sometimes that WSJ is literally a magazine for children and that it's not really written exclusively for the 20 or 30 something year olds that bitch about it.

Nah, you are correct. For instance battle harem leads tend to do much better in polls than romcom harem leads because they get to do cool stuff and show off.

And of course even when it comes to just romcoms, personality is the real factor. Look at how Raku does in Nisekoi polls vs Yamada from Yamada and the seven witches in those polls.
