Why do you think Summer Wars was shit...

Why do you think Summer Wars was shit? Currently watching it because I'm waiting for "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" to finish downloading.

>user want deep story
>story is made obviously for kindergarten demographic
>watches it unironically anyway

I'm watching it because I vaguely remember watching it previously but I was shitfaced and can't remember half of it so I'm bored, I understand at least by the halfway point how shitty it is but its also kinda funny in a really stupid way. I wasn't looking for anything deep, I was looking for this specifically, and fortunately, expecting absolutely nothing from it.

> I was looking for this specifically
might as well drop everything else that director made.
no point wasting time if you cant get into his works

it was fun to watch and well animated

It's pretty bad even for a kindergarten demographic.

Everything seems really poorly executed thus far, and nothing is explained very well, it mostly seemed aimed at people who don't question anything and roll with some bullshit that's placed in front of them. I'm still confused as to why the fuck the AI is called "Love Machine." That sounds like the perfect rapist robot name though.

>Why the fuck is everything based on one central system
>Why the fuck is it so easy to fuck over using a "math nerd" high school kid
>What the fuck.

Its shit. Its really shitty shit I'll admit that.
>But due to my pride, I have to finish it.
>Its gonna piss me off

This is a prime example

Meant this

Because you watch it unironically

>the way to take down a cyber terrorist is literally punching and kicking

It's a fun little movie as long as you can just turn your brain off and enjoy the flashy fightan animation. I just hope you didn't pay actual money to watch it.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is great, though.

I though the family relationships was pretty well done, but everything related to computers in the movie was as bad as this:

Never paid money to watch anything really. Also
>FORCED FUCKING GRANDMA DEATH TO FURTHER THE PLOT.

It's better than Girl who Leapt thru Time, that's for sure. Haven't watched a more boring anime in years.

It was fun, fuck you

The writing is insanely bad.
Which is such a shame, because Hosona is a genius on a purely technical level.

Thanks asshole

>muh spoilers

Not the place for you

What does Sup Forums think of the Bakemono no Ko?

horrible voice acting, sounded like english porn actors trying to establish a plot

>people actually hate Summer Wars in this thread
The fuck is wrong with you faggots? This movie was great. It wasn't some philosophical masterpiece but it was still an amazingly well-produced action film.

Shit for furrylovers

>stop hating what i like even if it did have flaws

back to tumblr you go

Funny how the action sequences were the worst part of the film.

It was mediocre. Not good, not masterpiece, not bad, not shit. Just mediocre

It's not shit, but Our War Game did it better. Our War Game has the advantage of not being 2 hours long and therefore doesn't have to shove family-based filler in to kill time.

As above, it's basically Our War Game (the second Digimon short film) with different characters, a few relatively minor changes and about an hour of family shenanigans and filler.

why would you watch dub?

Both me by the way :^)

You do realize that the "family-based filler" is the focus, the action bullshit is the filler.

Maybe I just like action more than drama.

i bought the manga because i heard it was good, my god i have never thought $40 could be wasted that badly

It's a better name than Diaboromon

it was neat

Summer Wars was pretty good in my opinion. It was the best Digimon movie.

dafuq? What manga cost $40?

>kindergarten demographic

It aired on Adult Swim, what the fuck are you talking about?

Dunno why all my friends loved this and now hate me for not loving it. I get the whole family ties theme, but there were too many characters that were just there and never explored. Also a lot of stuff happens at the end and none of that koi koi game made sense. I know I am foreign to it, but they could at least explain the game better.

False advertising.

Hanafuda isn't exactly obscure.

Summer Wars was fun. It was that one Digimon movie just done better.

I never heard of Hanafuda before watching this. Should I be expected to know? If it's not then what is an example of an obscure Japanese card game?

The characters were not interesting, I barely learnt anything about the main girl and boy, all the characters felt sparse. The avatar things were uninteresting and it seems that they were barely even on screen anyway. it did have some good looking scenes and there were a few parts I enjoyed but overall I was so bored watching this, there was so little going on.
Our War Game and The girl who leapt through time are much better than this.
'badass' grandmas are the most annoying kind of character, I'm glad she died

You missed the entire point?
She's weak, she can't do anything at all.
She never could, always relying on other to help her.

The one time she does something herself, she dies.

>AI that can hack astroid probe can't adapt to Hanafuda

Aside from that though, you're kind of glossing over this user's other points. Most characters are just there and barely get any screen time or even recognition for what family member they are.
