There's typical weekly shounen stuffed with time-saving techniques or shortcuts in many places. Lots of talking heads and sparse action. On occasion, an episode for whatever reason looks especially janky.

To be fair 5Ds had a share of non-Synchro users and even Arc-V not everyone has Pendulums. Only Zexal gave everyone XYZs while forgetting all the other summoning methods.

This, only like 3 characters never used Xyz. The only duel that had no Xyz vs Xyz was Yuma and Rokujuro's statue duel.
Zexal was OBSESSED with shilling Xyz in a way 5Ds wasn't with Synchros.

Zexal is shit but the animation was much better than Arc-V's. They will always be quality shots and episodes with poor animation but most of the series apart from the occasional episode is poorly animated.
