It's a well done series, the only flaws I see it's that the animation hasn't aged too well and the ending was too happy for what they has come through.

And yet I can't take it seriously a lot of the time because Hirai's character designs look awful.
Aside from Blue and his gang, all other characters had design that fit the seting, but Hirai's work is kind bad
I remember the scene where those guys probably had girls tied up and were pimping them to dudes. That scene where the main guy and that girl have sex was pretty tough. Series got really dark really fast. I loved all the planetary destruction too, I liked when that chick said they might of knocked mars off it's orbital path.

I actually liked a lot that development. For the first part of the series she was like the only solid figure inside that utterly messed up crew of children.
Viewers got used to put their hopes on her expecting her to solve the various shit that were going to happen.
