Why does Sup Forums like this show?

It's just some annoying guy getting killed over and over again.

are you dumb

Is there some sort of deeper meaning or themes that I'm missing?

Because I'm ten episodes in and I don't see how this is any different from any other snuff.

Fuck off retard.

A bait thread, hmmm? Boring.

Does something different happen, then? I just don't want to waste my time finishing the show if it's just gore-porn.

Why does Sup Forums like this show?

It's just some annoying girl sitting at her computer.

I haven't watched Lain yet, so I couldn't say.

I prefer Umineko desu

But then again I really love old school style mystery shit and the idea of logic battles, so

I wish.

Because Sup Forums fans of the show read the vn

Ah, I guess I'll read the VN then.

Different user here. I read the VN first and then watched the anime. The anime skips over so much it's not even funny.

So I'm not a complete idiot for not understanding what the hell was happening? That's a bit of a relief. The VN seems the way to go, then.

Just keep watching it numbnuts. Do you really need all the answers handed to you that fast?

Everything is explained in season 2.

He sounds like he doesn't have much patience, so the VN would be even worse in his eyes.

Okay, I'll bite. The anime is more focused in those aspect, yes, but the story is not only about that. Higurashi is about friendship (love, sincerity, affection, complicity, joy, sadness, trust issues, fear). I don't know you, but I would recommend you to keep watching. Are you going to like it? Who knows? You can hate it or love it.
The anime is... meh, but I do like it. If you're really interested try the VN, is so much better. Trust me. Would you believe me? The characters in the VN has much deep development and their relationships is so much more more powerful, also the mystery and the spooky moments feels more creepy. The balance between drama and comedy is very good too. The music is not as good as Umineko, but is still excellent.
The anime feels very shallow in comparison, but the VN is quite large so think about it. It's your decision, do whatever you want.
I'm sleepy. See ya!

Not wanting to waste 13 hours on a shitty show doesn't make me impatient, twats. Seeing as how it keeps resetting the characters every few episodes, how was I to supposed to foresee impending exposition/plot development?

>It's just some annoying guy getting killed over and over again.
Did someone say Re:Zero?

It's mystery. If you want everything explained at episode 2 then watch shonen

Thanks for the decent answer. The VN seems the way to go for me, then.

Did you really think it would keep going like that without any explanation of what's happening?

Then get ready to "waste" over 80 on the VNs.

Kinda. The characters' personalities keep changing after each arc and I couldn't see any continuity between each one.

It's not like it's unheard of for bad anime to exist. I just thought the people who liked this show had shit gore-wank taste and dismissed it.

Sup Forums likes re;zero too. ;)

Well the reason I like it is because of the characters, the only one of which I'd say is inconsistent is mion, but that's only if that was really mion and not shion, I won't deny that the anime can be incredibly sloppy. But I really like the other characters, specifically Keichii and Rena seem to stay the most consistent. I like Keichii because I find him odd, I know that his personality works in favor of this type of show, but he does seem genuine and consistent. I think Keichii's a really bright, but overly sensitive person and when certain things occur it "triggers" him, lol.

For example we learn in later arcs that he has a fear of certain things that were referenced in the first arc, and about his past which vaguely explains why he's so crazy about protecting Satoko. I like that sort of thing. I think the shows ham-fisted and cheesy, but it's really comforting to me too.

I haven't watched this show in many years, so can someone just remind me if they break out of the cycle or not

Does the vn become good?
I've tried Higurashi a few month ago and dropped it because this shit was so fucking slow I couldn't stand it.
I stopped when there was all the thing with Mion and Shion. (The last thing I remember is Mion or Shion being a bi*ch to her other sister in ront of the store where the other sister is)

Finish the first season. And also the second season.

>lol
Leave and never come back.

lol

Because you're supposed to know to read the VN first. Lurk more nerd.

The writing improves noticably in Chapter 3 but if you're not into it by now then you should give up

Keep watching.

> Some annoying guy getting killed over and over again
Wrong anime, op.
