Cities are large, large places hold many people. Large cities are also large platforms for media. If media desides to go with one narrative, there is a bigger chance, in cities, that more people will follow this narrative. People under this narrative usually influence their children with the narrative. Pretty simple stuff, if channels started saying "buy x product" lot more people from the city would buy x product than from rural areas, due to the higher concentration of people
