Fuck this shit

Fuck this shit
I don't understand, why the fuck does he have to go through this bullshit?
What did he do so wrong to deserve this kind of torment?

This just feels wrong, why does the universe have to shit on him so much? It's not fucking fair

Stop self inserting. You are not the one getting hurt and it's all fictional and for the sake of the plot.

Literally owtheedge: the animation

...

What are you talking about? He lucked out.

Taken out of this shit world and placed into a world where he can do as much shit as he wants and can have a do over until he gets it right. He even gets to have cute magical girls befriend him when in the real world you aren't allowed to so much as make eye contact with a girl unless you're a Chad. Sure the dying hurts but I'm sure after a while you get used to it, physical pain can be desensitized.

author didn't know any other way to setup a fantasy world. had to make it into a guy travels into different world premise.

i hate to break this to you user but it's gonna get a lot worse. but don't worry he's gets a wise magical negro.

A very twisted woman is in love with him, and she's trying to make him perfect.

I hope Satella wins. I mean the dude already went through enough shit already. Might as well go all the way and become her husband.

>tfw she's too jealous to let him keep Rem as a mistress

>and can have a do over until he gets it right

He can't pick the starting point of the do over though.

The real answer I figured out reading the spoilers and such is that the story is literally about a guy who cares.
He's a anti-shounen MC. He basically gets weaker and weaker even if he powers up his enemies are much stronger and he never stops losing and suffering. So the only thing he really has going for him is the ability to redo and accumulate information for next time.
He could always just fuck off and do whatever. He consciously chooses not to because he can't stand not caring about the people he meets.
Its the ultimate suffering because he chose it himself. Its like watching your kids die again and again

Because that's the only thing the show has going for it. That's why they had to come up with the checkpoint bullshit, so they can keep killing him.

Because this is torture porn: the anime. And I'm enjoying it.

> He's a anti-shounen MC
> He consciously chooses not to because he can't stand not caring about the people he meets
> He basically gets weaker and weaker even if he powers up his enemies are much stronger and he never stops losing and suffering. So the only thing he really has going for him is the ability to redo and accumulate information for next time.

Holy shit, how can you contradict yourself so much in so few lines of text

>put into a world where there is no internet
>can't even commit suicide to get it over with

If you really like Renaissance fairs and magic it'd be alright I suppose.

it's not just physical though, imagine feeling like everyone's betrayed your trust

even if it's your fault it's gotta hurt

the reason fictional characters are interesting in the first place is because we can relate them to real feelings or the like, yeah you shouldn't always self-insert but it's hard to deny yourself of some sort of sympathy

Well if you're complaining this much and self inserting, just know this shit is only the beginning.

Just remember to hold the door

user shounen MC are the epitome of nice guys who keep helping the cute girls for no reason.

And then they all want his dick.

I wish this comment where a joker. Literally every re:zero fag

wew

Cause of a bullshit poorly written plot in which everything happens literally just because with the most broken plot device to boot.

>Rem confesses her love
>Faggot fucking Subaru says he loves Emilia more and that she will always be second in his mind though
>Throw Rem to Satanist so they can rape and torture her
>Decides Rem is having a bad time after 10x deaths
>Still have Rem go through it all
>She ends up being a broken vegetable
>Sub still lust for elf pussy

Let me guess. SAO was the latest show you watched before this? Baby´s first edge anime, kind of cute.

>Retard spewing nonsense
I will just assume you never read what you type. Is this the Re:Zero fanbase in a nutshell?

Yeah let's make generalizations about a huge fanbase based on a single post, that makes sense.

He's ironically right.

Half-elf pussy didn't kill him, Rem deserved the repeating marathon of satanist rape and torture.

Subaru even got to watch so I'm sure it was very healing for his damaged psyche.

Generalization doesn´t always have to be a bad thing. I mean not everyone wants to rape you in prison, but that doesn´t mean you should drop the soap and pick it up around convicts,

Were you in the Sup Forums prison thread? Because that place is fucking weird. Anons were all about dropping soap and raping the guards.

Everyone forget that felt is rotting in some imperial dungeon?

What does this expression convey?

Disgust.
>What did he do so wrong to deserve this kind of torment?
He attracted the attention of a sweet silver-haired half-elf girl.

I stopped watching the show because of posts like this.

That's a pretty stupid fucking reason IMHO.

Me too. Funnily enough I was actually enjoying it the fanbase is more cancerous than Akame ga Kill's though. I'll probably pick it up again after the dust settles though.

...

Kimchi waru.

I'm perfectly aware.

>dropping a show because of fanbase
Fucking retarded. Just don't look at the threads if you don't like them.

I think that's where she fell in love. That's "bedroom eyes" right? Weird though I thought they were in a hallway there.

That's called a poker face user.

There's bigger dumbasses in other fanbases. The rezero ones are easy to point out though since they make their retardation hard to miss. Apparently it's hard to into plot.

If it was just confined to the threads I would. But they spill over into other threads, granted they could be falseflaggers but I can't tell.

They were in a closet when Rem gave him those eyes.

Subaru on the other hand fell in love at a library.

A closet? So then it's ironic bedroom eyes because they're homosexuals then, ne?

Wouldn't it make more sense to just ignore the threads and keep watching? Why are you still here if it's the fanbase that's the problem? Do you like cancer?

I suppose the obnoxious shitposters that were here in the beginning did their job well enough, as they got a bunch of people to start sharing all of the spoilers in response to their dumb questions. My perspective on the show has gotten completely warped and I'm feeling like the spoilers have probably given everyone the wrong idea about the series.
That she's watching him and Subaru knows she's watching him. It's why they made sure both eyes were visible.

>But they spill over into other threads
Really? What's even the point of that? It doesn't even seem like the anime has gotten to the main plot yet, so it doesn't feel right to be hyping this so early.

Pretty big fan of this series. Decent episode. Helped move the plot along and it looks like Subaru has pretty much all the information he needs to advance past the cursed night. Now the question I'm wondering the answer to is if he'll succeed next episode, or if he's going to lose all of his progress with Emilia, Rem and Ram and have to start over AGAIN. I feel like if he loses his progress at this point given how well everything has gone for him this loop, he's going to snap.

What is empathy?

Heeeeeelllllppppppp

One of Roswaal's past female iterations?

If Clowndick is a woman on the inside, does that make Ram a lesbian?

Atleast he lived up to his name.

The picture clearly says it's "Roswaal".

So, next episode we're all caught up to the manga?

To the point where it's been translated.

>yeah you shouldn't always self-insert but it's hard to deny yourself of some sort of sympathy

Yeah whatever OP clearly is fucking self inserting so much he's talking like he's going through such experiences it's damn retarded

It's all his fault. He didn't have to take this. He CHOSE to stay at the mansion. Everything he's done and gone though has been due to his bad decision making. If there's anything you should feel sorry for, it's his stupidity.

This is what happens when you don't aim for the Elsa Route.

>He CHOSE to stay at the mansion. Everything he's done and gone though has been due to his bad decision making.
Your pasta is at least 8 days too old. He already tried leaving the mansion.

You're retarded.

>Why doesn't he leave the mansion?
>Episode 7: He leaves the mansion

Many keks were had

>not immersing yourself in a series and imagining what it would be like to go through those same experiences yourself
You're missing out on half of the fun, user.

If you mean "reinhardt dressing her up in pretty dresses" as rotting in a dungeon, sure.

I mean completely leaving the premises and seeking outside help or just wiping his hands of this whole ordeal. It's not his problem and it's not like Emilia gets attacked by the shaman or whatever. Literally who cares if the maids die? They always try to kill him.

>Japanese boy transported to european world

When will this light novel cuck shit end

>He already tried leaving the mansion.
>Was about to leave but said fuck it and was deciding to commit suicide

He's choosing this.

Something unknown to the soulless psychopaths aka majority of the people.

He should have left all the way, instead of lying to everyone and hiding in the woods with a knife.

Anyhow, I decided to rewatch bits of the anime to remind myself of what has actually happened in it so far, rather than relying on spoiler knowledge.

I noticed that the anime really makes it look like this whole situation started when he told "Satella" that he'd save her, even if it somehow applied retroactively, with how the opening of the first episode shows flashes of that scene right before he's dragged into the fantasy world by that black hand. I wonder if there's any taboo concerning making promises to the Witch, like if that sort of thing allows her to fuck with you in some way?

No because I'm not the retarded one pretending I'm getting slaughtered and throwing a bitch fit here.

>he tries to leave the mansion

Going 100 yards out and sleeping against a rock on a cliff overlooking Emilia's bedroom isn't leaving the mansion. Emilia even offered him access to a carriage when he left, but since he wasn't actually leaving he didn't want it.

Subaru knows what's going to happen when he stays. He doesn't know what'll happen if he leaves. But better the devil you know right?

Not him, but it's hard to imagine yourself in the scenario because you would have to make the same dumb decisions to get into. Who chases around a girl in a completely new place that you know nothing about? Would it not make more sense to go a place of authority and find out where the fuck you are? We're like 8 episodes in and I know nearly just as much about the setting as I did at the start of the show. MC spends most of his time flirting and talking about nothing instead of asking questions and sometimes it's like nails on a chalkboard. Even the dumbass MC from Endride has enough sense to try to find out where the fuck he is and what's going on around him.

life is hard real and fictional

You can feel sorry for him.

But crying and bitching over it is stupid. The whole point of this shit is for him to suffer and try again. Shit you people either think anyone who isn't bawling their eyes over this is some edgelord or something.

Right after writing as a concept ceases to exist.

Because evil witches manipulating his fate or some shit.

>and I know nearly just as much about the setting as I did at the start of the show.

That is your fault, not the show's. Every interaction with betty has been further introducing information about the world.

>I wonder if there's any taboo concerning making promises to the Witch, like if that sort of thing allows her to fuck with you in some way?
Quite possibly. Given how the promise with Beatrice worked, that wouldn't be a surprise.

>Subaru knows what's going to happen when he stays. He doesn't know what'll happen if he leaves. But better the devil you know right?
Well, from what we've learned in episode 8 we now know that leaving the mansion will pretty much guarantee Rem's death, and when you have access to seemingly unlimited respawns, it's much more of a burden on your conscience to purposefully let someone die.

>saving someone who wants you dead

But I guess she did hold his hand once and act nicely to him before she viciously murdered him so he needs to save her. Reminds me of someone else.

That's why I said "nearly" just as much. Keep in mind I'm comparing this to other series. The character interactions in this show are decent, but the world-building could be a lot better than it has been.

>Quite possibly. Given how the promise with Beatrice worked, that wouldn't be a surprise.
Well then, I'd say he's screwed. That really makes it sound like the purpose of his curse is to lead him to "save Satella" and that the conditions and checkpoints are set with that in mind rather than it being about his own well-being.

Hell, people have already spoiled this for me, but apparently he accidentally makes another similar promise to Satella's face, or some manifestation of her, while he's dying in one timeline that turned out particularly bad.

I love the world building of Re Zero. Do want a history lesson?

Use spoiler tags. I think we're supposed to be just as ignorant as Subaru at this point.

The thing is, why do you immerse? Are you a masochist?

Demi-Human War: A war that lasted for ten years roughly 50 to 40 years earlier. Due to the actions of the Witch of Envy, Half Elves and other half races were considered to be heretical, with the prejudice extending to Demi Humans themselves. Amidst all of that, a Demi Human village was involved in a conflict with a Human village, and at a peace conference those sent from the castle were assassinated, leading both sides to claim that it was the other side's fault. The conflict eventually grew until it spread across Lugnica, lasting until the Demi Humans admitted that it wouldn't benefit anyone to keep on fighting, though they still claimed not to be responsible for the assassination. The decision to end the war was considered to have brought about by the Sword Saint's actions. Damage from the war existed deep within people and people still harbor prejudice against half races even if it isn't spoken aloud.

>Who chases around a girl in a completely new place that you know nothing about?
Having such a jarring alteration of reality take place would often lead people to conclude that they're dreaming, hallucinating, or something to that effect (and it's implied that Subaru came to roughly that conclusion himself). I'd probably have just gone with the flow on that first day until the pain of being murdered gave me a brutal wake-up call.
>Would it not make more sense to go a place of authority and find out where the fuck you are?
A sensible idea too.
>We're like 8 episodes in and I know nearly just as much about the setting as I did at the start of the show.
From his conversations with Puck and Beatrice, there has been an awful lot disclosed about the world he's in already. remember to pay attention to those two - they're both practically exposition machines.
>MC spends most of his time flirting and talking about nothing instead of asking questions and sometimes it's like nails on a chalkboard.
A big part of that is that he's trying (and failing, but at least trying) to earn their trust. After all, they're suspicious of him and likely still assume he's a spy or something equally shady, so if he doesn't have their trust, they'll probably just lie to him anyway.

>people have already spoiled this for me, but apparently-
Yeeah I'm not reading that, thanks for keeping it in spoiler tags though.

20~30 years ago: A great Demihuman war was fought between the human kingdoms and the demihuman kingdoms.
Wilhelm the "Sword Demon" makes a name for himself, and is hailed as a war hero.

Already been told that she halved the world's population this episode. We know their is a race for the throne going on. Implied prejudice for Emilia since she matches satella's description by beako although
has the main reason

>why do you immerse? Are you a masochist?
Not strictly speaking, no. I've seen enough light heart-warming happy stuff (and most anime is just that) that I can appreciate having a change of tone and witnessing something tragic and horrifying instead.

It can be really interesting to let yourself be taken on a ride and maybe forced to feel some uncomfortable emotions every now and again. There's always the saccharine moeblob stuff and Gary Stu wish fulfilment fantasy stuff waiting for you to return to once you're done.

He falls in love with a girl named Teresia who is later revealed to be the current "Sword Saint". He manages to defeat her in duel, and proposes.

Didn't we learn in this episode that maybe Puck is having something to do with all those "black out" moments Subaru is having, with the groping shadow hands etc, when he cast that spell on him? Sub looks really serious for a second like he just figured out that it's been Puck doing that the whole time. Or could someone else be casting it since it was a seemingly easy enough spell?

You're an idiot.

You're a moron.

What we learned is that the time reset thing is a shadow spell.

>teresia
>doughy looking babyface
>btfo by gluttony

I'm guessing if Subaru manages to save Rem then he'll get NTR'd by Reinhardt.

the nameless one: the anime?

He could honestly go as far as he wants but it would not matter all that much.

1) He will just lose more. You'd go crazier losing your wife of 40 years and all of your kids than just random strangers.
2) The witch places him near Emilia at the start and probably plans for him to fall in love, thus that love limits his actions.
3) He reeks of witch. Most people would just kill him instantly.
3b) This is not unjustified. He should be killed on sight by anyone. His guilt or innocence are irrelevant. He smells like a witch because whether he knows it or not he is serving her, he has no other choice (quite literally, any world where her demands are not met is one he will loop away from).

Yes that definitely makes more sense. Thanks!

>Yeeah I'm not reading that, thanks for keeping it in spoiler tags though.
That's what they're for, and I decided I'd do my part in making these threads a little better. It's probably going to come up in the anime anyways, if I'm properly recalling what arc it's supposed to be.
The breaktimes even say most people would kill him just for being an illegal immigrant, though I'm not sure how accurate they are.

As it stands, I'm guessing that Subaru has accidentally sworn himself to be Satella's savior, and whatever magics concern that promise are leading him to become just that. Killing him actually sounds like it'd probably be for the best in the long run, but unfortunately for everyone else his power makes that impossible.

suffering never ends
