Correlation does not equate causation. I've seen similar arguments used like how the catholics in Germany primarily did not vote for the NSDAP. That's because there was also a dedicated Catholic party too at the time. Unsurprising that catholics would vote for directly catholic interests or be unconcerned with other parties. In the same sense, Hitler opposed the big bankers. He did not oppose businessmen small or large, he supported them.
